Overall, is Cornell the best choice for elite wrestlers?
AgaveMaria replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Don't rag on "Future Farmers". Where does your food come from? Most of my neighbors farm. A few have PhD degrees in some Agriculture/Plant Science/business field. Two are plant geneticists. Three have had careers teaching at major Universities. A number have Masters degrees. A lot of Bachelors in the mix as well as Tech school in farm management. Combines that cost right at $500,000 and tractors over $300,000 and are computer controlled with GPS systems that map fields and are accurate +- one inch. One tractor with an air seeder now can plant in one day what would have taken 10 workers with individual tractor/seeders 20-40 years ago. Crop engineering is big. A lot of Ag careers in high tech, from computers to genetics to management. Two neighbors kids have graduated from Farm Tech programs where the school instructors work with them to set up their own ag operation. Actually do some field work with them. Help set up equipment purchases, land leasing and the like - no "use dad's equipment" in these. They are teaching them to be independant farmers. Our State has no Corporate farming past Closely held Family Corporations with ownership being living State residents. NO Big Ag Corporations allowed to own farms and ranches in North Dakota. Family operations only. That said, some of the family operations are impressive. One neighbor had crop sales last year just under $23 million. Others well over $10 million. Planting, planning and working a few thousand acres takes time, education, knowledge and a lot of work. Air conditioned cabs sound nice and really helps but one still has to be there do operate the machinery and be fast to beat rain storms coming through. Fall means working to beat possible snow and rain, not to mention murmerations of blackbirds in flocks of thousands that descend on mature crop fields and eat into profits. Bit Semi-truck trailers to haul grain. Most every neighbor has at least one Kenworth or similar big rig with long grain hauling trailers. Many have built new grain bins and dryers so they are not so dependant on the Grain Elevators in town. Good friend recently had built two new 62,000 bushel metal bins and a grain dryer. Bins cost about $2.45 a bushel to build and the grain drying unit was right at $750,000. He dries grain for other farmers, not just his own. Farming is big business here. Bigger than the Oil fields in the Western part of the State. So, don't rag on these guys and gals. Many have kids who wrestle. One kid lost an arm just below the Elbow at about 7-8 years old in an auger accident. He wrestled and placed at State. Was a good defensive back on the football team as well - all while still helping on the family farm. So - don't whine about farmers..., especially with food in your mouth. -
Want to bet he believes he would become a Navy SEAL, or Force Recon or other special branch of service. Yep, he and Charlie Sheen...

My current body weight is 205 Pounds down from 225lbs in the off season The Formula Is Superior Genetics Superior Work Ethic Superior Belief in Godand Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior Romans8:31 - “If God is for us, who can be against us.” pic.twitter.com/EVFowhfEHs — AJ Ferrari (@mrfasttwitch) December 22, 2023 ==================== Surely God will intervene because of AJ's superior beliefs, right? His direct intercession will be so AJ and Brooks meet in the finals at the NCAA tournament and both will praise Jesus after the match.

Overall, is Cornell the best choice for elite wrestlers?
AgaveMaria replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
"but to say it can't advance the careers of many wrestlers may be a bit exaggerated." "Among the top choices" Go back and read what I wrote. Cornell is very good. No doubt about it. Better than many may think. Infrastructure and advanced training facilities and personnel are not at the top. Not yet, IF they decide to go all in on it maybe they can get there. Penn State is top guy right now and probably will be for some years to come. Even Dake trains there now and I bet Yianni and Vito will do so at least part time in the future. For now Cornell is a pipeline. Much better than Iowa or Oklahoma State. Their coaching is top notch and they attract top talent. But "Best Overall Choice"? I still say no - and maybe have to add a "not yet" to it. -
Poll: Where would you like to see the Ferraris (if not Iowa)?

Utah Valley University. The mormons can take on the task of making them fit for Polygamy and the Celestial Kingdom, the highest of the three degrees of Heaven. -

No. Among the top choices if you count 4 timers but it does not have the infrastructure to advance the careers of many wrestlers. A place like Penn State does have it and it is only getting better. -
Stepping back - is AJ's behavior really THAT bad?
AgaveMaria replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
And..., getting real. Charlie Manson never killed anyone either. -
Creeps in the wrestling community - What can we do about it?

My buddy has gone on as he has a football game to work this weekend. As he said, NO photographer/videographer is going to give up Copyright to their images. You just won't get coverage. Newspapers and magazines won't cover the events. Apparently you can regulate who has matside access -but taking ownership of their work product? Not likely unless you are willing to pay for it. He has photos of Dan Gable to Cael Sanderson. They are images still marketable today. If he had given up or sold copyright he would no longer have them to market He also has a ton of Indy Car, NASCAR and F1 drivers, crews and cars from when he covered it heavily. Same with Surfing and Pro boxing. They are his retirement bank. Images that he still licenses for editorial use. Many he has licensed for posters, team use and even more. You control access, not try to take ownership. BTW, he stopped by to do some Snowmobile photography, but we are low on snow. So he headed to Devils Lake for ice fishing images. Then East for NFL this weekend. He keeps busy. -

Am visiting my old college friend and he asked me about this one. Asked as I have shot NFL, NBA, MLB and such for decades for newspapers, magazines and some teams. The camera doesn't lie. It photographs reality. But..., your angle, lens, lighting and what you choose to photograph can emphasize various aspects of what is covered. Then you have how they are edited and worked on to emphasize particular areas of images. I do still work, no video. I'll leave the video to friends who have the dollars for top gear and do it for a living. All of us who photograph sports have images that are questionable and at times almost obscene. Images that, if published - would be a bad look for the subject featured. Any photographer with a conscience does not show these. Editors never see them because we are not in the business of trying to ruin our subjects. This is especially true in Youth sports and even more so with women in sport. As for me I stopped photographing cheerleaders a few decades ago. Too much "dirty old man" vibes from too many when you are pointing big lenses at the women/girls. Just personal here but i know many who do not photograph them unless specifically asked. Same basic reason - don't want to be labeled as dirtbag photographers or - even worse - "paparazzi". When photographing action stuff happens. Hands and fingers end up in odd positions, body parts get exposed or emphasized. Good taste dictated judgment on what we send ot editors for publication and sale. There is a line from funny to embarassing to outrght prurient images. Most I have done business with don't want and won't publish those images that are questionable. For me, I don't do business with those who do. Others are not concerned with it. If - and it is a bit IF - I ran a venue and saw certain photographers/videographers putting up images as this topic is discussing i would ban them from the arena. If that is challenged we could go to NO CAMERAS as a policy. Even that is a problem with cell phone image quality getting better every week. These type of photographers will always be with us. Local control is pretty much your only option. Visit an Intellectual Property attorney and/or Law Enforcement to get good information on your legal options. I am not an attorney. That said I know what happens if I find my kids involved. There is the law. There is revenge. When it is personal..., revenge becomes the law. Take that however you will. -
Iowa should STILL welcome the Ferraris
AgaveMaria replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Reality is that no one actually knows what "Jesus said". Nothing at all was recorded when he supposedly lived. All the various religious groups and even they can't figure out just what is right. They fight among themselves and even cause wars over it. A lot of otherwise fine people are involved in many religions. They have faith, not knowledge because what they are basing the faith on is basically fairy tales. -
"for cause" is as simple as most anything those in charge want to say it is. Not winning more NCAA Titles is more than enough. Look at Jim Zalesky. Look at a number of the football and basketball coaches who were bought out. Paid to leave. Paid millions..., and Tens of millions. If Iowa management wants them gone a Contract Buyout is simple.

Tommy Brands is under contract until 2029 - if the information I read is correct. The ferrari boys are a problem that brings out the reality that they are desperate. Trying to bring in talent that are saddled with known problems that can tarnish the school and program. So, will Iowa administration buy out their conntracts? It isn't as if we are talking football coaches. Like Texas A&M paying $75 million to buy out the contract of Jimbo Fisher. Texas dumped Tom Heman and it cost them $15 million. Auburn's 2020 buyout of football coach Gus Malzahn cost $21.7 million. Compared to these T&T would be cheap to pay to disappear. So, does Iowa do it or continue as they are, giving the school & NCAA wrestling a black eye?

Will the double bird splits become a thing?

Just wait until a wrestler tries it, pulls a groin muscle or hamstring and loses the season. -
Superior Belief in Godand Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior If he didn't mention Jesus he didn't apologize. Superior belief demands it.

How Long Will Bono Last at Wisconsin?
AgaveMaria replied to ThreePointTakedown's topic in College Wrestling
A certain wrestling Family from Texas may be looking for a new University for their three top quality wrestlers. Bono standing next to AJ on the awards platform at NCAA's - that is a picture to look forward to. -
Superior Belief in Godand Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior Romans8:31 - “If God is for us, who can be against us.” Either will only work if you put a big Cross on the uniforms.
-
Superior Belief in Godand Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior Romans8:31 - “If God is for us, who can be against us.” -------------------- The Iowa Administration will be so over awed by the Faith of the whole car family they will have no choice but to bring the boys into the program. Having them and their great faith in the room will instantly raise the level far, far above Penn State's version of Jesus and his henchmen.

T&T will keep these guys and love the Anti-personality which will bring bigger crowds to every venue. After all, the State loves Donald Trump - sexual predator and major league dirtbag.

From the looks of it AJ punches like a girl. Maybe that is really why the DQ?

Iowa should STILL welcome the Ferraris
AgaveMaria replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
The cheezy lurching style with the half baked kneeling/stalling tactics are a bad look. Shoving an opponents head down at the end and getting shoved back - answering with a girly punch and one finger Salute? Then the redneck trash hairdo... Yep, He's Iowa! -
Only qualification he needs is learning to say "I Surrender" in German...
