What happened to "Dump John Smith" stuff? He changes Assistants and all of a sudden he is Cael reborn? How he acts and reacts to his kids on the mat - will it change this year? Has he been taken over by Nice Pod People? How long until maen'ol Uncle John starts once again being "get the hell off my lawn" to his own wrestlers?

If you take T&T you better have a Gold Plated medical plan in place. A lot of injuries and nagging health problems with their wrestlers as they keep pusing over the top misapplied Gable mentality with their kids.

Aaron Brooks moving up to 197 and showing his obnoxious attitude is planned. He thinks ahead. MMA future as well as hoping he will face A.J. Ferrari at iowa. Ferrari has that Bad Boy thing going - for real, not just playing it on the mat. Real enough John Smith was glad to get rid of him at Oklahoma State and real enough Tommy Brands wants him at Iowa so they will appear tougher. Brooks is making crazy statements, his Jesus stuff and "Mohammed is wrong" stuff. Controversial and raising hackles all over the place in the minor sports world that is amateur wrestling. He is doing it hoping Ferrari does wrestle at Iowa it will be "The Battle of The Bad Boys" - and help with his publicity for the future. When and if we see him on the mat with Ferrari - who will be the Bad Boy?

The object is to PIN the oppenent. If you can't get it done you keep on keepin'on for the full time. The occasional 40 point match is the price they pay for not getting it done.

Cael was a top recruit but at the time if you had to pick one you thought might be a 4 timer it would have been Joe Heskett - who had beat Cael when they met at Reno in High School.

You get a Technical fall or a Fall, also called a Pin. You win by PIN - "pinfall" is a girly man term for the weak minded who never have the courage to even say hi to a cheerleader. Call it a PIN, as in a Pinning Combination. No one ever heard of a "pinfalling combination", ever. Never, ever.

Dave Schultz, obviously. He lost 9 times in College and only got 2nd at the Tblisi tournment while in High School even after he pinned Chuck Yagla at the Great Plains Tournament. All those High School and college losses! Then in world competition he got beat a number of times. He only won one world Gold and one Olympic Gold. His own brother Mark won Three world titles - and that is his little brother! Over hyped? How about your post is over the top asinine

The Mormons first called the new/supposedly restored church "Church of Christ". Then after they found that was the name of another group they changed it to "The Church of the Latter Day Saints". Then a few years later Jesus told Joseph Smith the name was to be "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". Then a couple decades later Brigham Young decided Jesus did not understand English properly and the name was changed to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". Must take some gall to correct Jesus... But, you will notice how important capitalizing "The" is for them. Did they beat Ohio State University to that one?

Watched a few matches this week and takedowns generaly got "TWOOOOOOO" yelling from the audience. How long do you think it will take until most all are on "THREEEEEEE"? I wonder if many yelling it even realize that scoring for takedowns has changed?

More fun than obsessing over why Penn State can't get a winning 125 pounder?

I really enjoyed John Smith on the mike during the Olympic Games. He wasn't just narrating a match, he was coaching and analyzing as he watched. A lot of good information from him on options and technique and even frustrations during the matches. For now: Go Camels! Home of a good team and the greatest wrestling mat around. Nice to see them take Army 24-9.

The silliness of "Exact Name" is not unique to these guys. The Mormons main group in Salt Lake City gets pissy about "call us by our full name" too. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - and their "prophet" insists that using MORMON is "a Victory for Satan". Try http://www.mormon.com and see what comes up.

Maybe they can clarify if they are Hard Shelled Baptists, Southern Baptists, Primitive Baptists, American Baptists, Free Will Baptists, Landmark Baptists, Missionary Baptists, Regular Baptists, Old Regular Baptists, or any of a number of others? Being in California, maybe they are Surfing Baptists?

So, how does Tom compare to Tom Ryan at THE Ohio State University? Ryan is 198-66 with One NCAA Title. Brands is 265-25-1 with Four NCAA Titles. Both coaches have one major problem - Cael Sanderson. He has changed the landscape much as Gery Kurelmeier/Dan Gable did.

Show me the MONEY? Guys make choices and few wrestlers work their way into multi million $$$ contracts for performance on the mat.
