  1. This has to be Baylors grandma or aunt. So eloquent! And a lot of emotion. I like the Hillary Clinton quip- it takes a village- No! It takes an involved parent to jerk a knot in the young mans tail, early and often, as needed. No justification here for what this young man has been doing. None. And the more it’s talked about the better for the sport ,and self policing when needed.
  2. Indian……bottom feeders don’t get any respect! Lol
  3. If I’m Tina Lillard it will be well known, and heads would roll at Nickerson University
  4. Tina Lillard surly made a call to a law firm. My only issue is with both head coaches for the teams involved, when this happened. For not speaking to the event that happened. And also all tje NCAA coaches, for not being outraged , publicly. And what about the individual universities not speaking to this incident. Other than being dismissed from team. Talk about giving wrestling a black eye with the casual fan.
  5. Thanks for spotlighting this. Seems if not a big program involved, it doesn’t get tje deserved attention. Thanks again.
  6. Indiana lower weights are suffering. Middle weights pulled it out against western. After Indiana pined at 197 it was over. Borelli is a dinosaur. And still looks good. Obviously not attracting the talent he once commanded.
  7. Knowing Central used to have some hammers, I haven’t heard much from that school In a while. They used to grab a kid now and then away from MSU and UM. Anybody got lowdown here? On paper looks like a snoozer.
  8. As the case with several D1 wrestling programs. We just have to be thankful for what they can provide at this time. Hopefully none being dropped and future funding can be found, but it must be solicited. These coaches need to cull the alumni and fans alike. Nobody is going to help if they are not asked. Coaches fall flat in these areas , and not only the small schools. Get out and shake the bushes.
  9. And Joes 57 right now ,Angel he’s 41 at most.
  10. This looks like a snoozer. Princeton hammers graduated, Glory annd Monday. only match that may be worth watching is 184, Dugan of Princeton and Rogotzki of Indiana. Personally, I would like to see a bonus match ,between two old teammates. Dubuque and Escobedo
  11. I think you need to keep Angel out of this discussion. People have short term memory problems if they can’t looK at the last 5-8 years of Duane Goldmans tenure at Indiana. The last 3 years was a dumpster fire. And the three years before that was when everyone in the state of Indiana wrestling community decided not to give IU a sniff for signing on. Couldn’t get and keep assistants, room was filled with walk on caliber talent. Performance on the mat reflected the inability of Duane to sign any big ten caliber recruits. No, Angel is doing just fine for now. Everyone on his team battles for 3 full periods, outmanned( most of the time in the Big) or not. But the culture has changed 200% there. And he’s still learning to be a head coach, surrounding himself with assistants may be even better coaches than he is right now. That dumpster fire Duane left the program in ain’t goin to get put out in a 5 year period or maybe 10! The big crowds that have come to Wilkinson Hall tell the story.
  12. The match I attended last week big ten, the ref was still yelling “two” off and on, corrected by both coaches. Lots of laughs on both sides.
  13. The match score was 15-7 Rider thru 157. Then Indiana scored the last 20 points.
  14. The buck stops with all heads. Preserve their jobs-is a maybe ,for these two coaches. both head’s would get another top job at several universities in a heartbeat. More like, from the AD,” keep the chicks in the hen house” get a few more babysitters for these 22 year old teenagers. Maturity is a premium asset for all university teams. Head coaching is a misnomer in these times. Coaching gets put way down on the list of things they have time to do and get to do. Not just for wrestling.
  15. I hate to say this, because you’re my Buddy, but the thread reminds me of a Cinnabon thread?
  16. Overall indiana didn’t look to bad. With the exception of Rooks getting beat won the matches they were supposed to win. Came away wit 3 pins and a major to close out the match. The 6 pts forfeit made it look closer.Wilhelm was in street clothes and Bullock sat ,but dressed. Both heavies.
  17. How in the world can they be on top of the inside of all the programs? No way
  18. And he reminds of Gable steveson! He has 2 also
