  1. The program is in a steady , slow , but steady upward motion.
  2. Sure. Can’t take away all the hammering he did in college. Champions never die.
  3. So ,he’ll be up in the stands with a full plate of nachos, with all the fixin’s ? As DF would explain as an early” exiter”.
  4. Here we go again, from eliminating coaches at the mat, to eliminating the bands around their ankles! Can we just not sit back and enjoy what we have? You know there are a lot of people that would like to have what we have. Mom, is that you? I’m awake now.
  5. He’s been hammering all year ,and getting better. Pinto the same.
  6. Come on here, lighten up! This is all part of an entertainment factor in college wrestling.. every one watches the coaches during a match. On the bench or in a corner. But more fun to watch during tournaments.
  7. Being underrated seems to be a relative term here. Just mentioning anyone in the Big Ten conference is a little silly. No way can any wrestler escape the highly visible national stage ,unlike any other, these guys are on.Most people on here know the wrestlers like the back of their hands. But We see it every year , where someone from a low profile program hammers their way to the top or near the top of the podium. And very few here know where they came from ,until it happens. And it ain’t guys from the highly visible Big Ten.
  8. Being in the stands, you don’t hear it much.
  9. Thanks. Nobody has a sense of humor anymore. Stiff sourpusses!
  10. You guys thinking about AA?
  11. I’ve been drinkin for a lot of years, but I haven’t take the pledge yet. Not telling anyone how old I am.
  12. Well seems you got your answer. Kind of like, are there any Purdue fans on here? This is pretty much a top 5-7 team forum. If you want to converse, that is , get a conversation going, it better be in regards to one of the top 3,4,5 squads in the country.
  13. Not as bad as you think. Harder on the fans than the participants. I’m thinking an overnight stay would be in order, for the participants, just like the Friday afternoon-Saturday morning at Indy. Plus, the sweet drive on I-69, knocking off at least 30-40 minutes from the Fort or region,to get there. When I go to state in Indy as a fan on Friday, I come back home, then go back Saturday morning. If at Evansville I wouldn’t go Friday. I think attendance will go down from that standpoint ,but that’ll probably be ok because of the more limited seats ,at Ford,to sit in anyway ..
  14. I’m Not in the know how it is run. Here in Indiana, as pointed out in another thread, the wrestling state tournament,is one of the best high school events in the country.
  15. That’s what the rumor is. Should be a tough ticket to get ,if it does land in the river city.
  16. You’re right, it is the boys own choosing. And I ,like you ,have nothing in it. This is why we have, in the D1 level, only 4or 5 schools with a chance to win every year. Saying 4 or 5 maybe a Stretch. It’s a shame to me ,for many reasons and on many levels.
  17. Offers from these big name coaches are hard to turn down, from the starry eyed kids in high school. A lot ride the pine ,all four years ,as practice dummies. And probably have to pay for their own education. I’m sure they get better ,but never have the chance to make a name for themselves, a shame as far as I’m concerned.
  18. Indiana’s depth is not there yet. But they continue to get after it every dual. They have from the very start of Escabedos takeover. Last year was a step back and didnt look good. I don’t know what was going on but they are back to more normal this year. Recruiting is still the stickler, as it is for all lower tiered programs. The elite school kids seek out winners college programs, that won’t change. Winning cures most ailments.
  19. Another guy on fire is Alred. He took it up a notch or two from the beginning of the season. Man he is strong. I’m thinking it’s a confidence thing.he’s Just getting to his potential.
  20. He may not win it ?but who ever wrestles him will know he’s in a fight.
