  1. Will be worse this year. I sit and see. It’s not frowned upon in the coaches circles anymore.
  2. I agree with Xmas ,pinto is the real deal.
  3. Not just this weekend,From last weekend to tje big dance.
  4. This is D1 wrestling. It is kosher for the coaches to hold wrestlers. Get over it . The old days and ways are done with. Stop complaining. Maybe this is an experiment, to grow the sport? You know , the two- three page threads on here, on what’s needed to get more fans/ people to take an interest. Coaches are doing their part. I guess it’s just up to us to get over our disappointment s.
  5. Other than academics? Fill me in. Look I’m not trying to start a pissing contest here. The place is hours away from any civilization. Young people like the urban scene.
  6. Good to hear, hope they keep it up, Illinois was a tough dual team 10 years ago. As to why anyone would want to go to university of Illinois, is another thing.
  7. This is D1 wrestling ,now days men. It is a long drawn out season. Dual meets mean nothing ,in the big picture . Purely side exhibition and entertainment. Us fans, supporters need not worry or complain, it’s kosher now in the coaches circles to hold guys to make sure they peak in March. And this also gives friends and families of back ups ,a chance to actually watch their guy in a live match on the big stage. How could this not be entertaining?
  8. So what was the Washington crap after the smith match?
  9. Ok , I’m not sure that it may be a combination, MSU getting better and Illinois being a notch or two down from what they usually are at. But it sure Makes for a competitive match.
  10. If you talk shit you have to back it up, I think he can.
  11. Well , i doesn’t take a rocket scientist to deduce that the elite have avoided Indiana for several years. And , that if Indiana wants to be relevant in the BIG and produce AA’s , the coaches need to keep said elites in state or recruit equal talent from other states. I’t didn’t happen the last 7 to 8 years of Duane Goldmans era, and has continued thru Escobedo's reign . This is what will ultimately make or break this coaching staff.
  12. This year the match will be in west Lafayette. Last year in Bloomington, Purdue won 17-16, winning 2 out of the last 3 matches. PU has won the last 12 matches in the series. Wrestlestat is givin the Hoosiers a runaway W, 21-13. I’m not buying. Seems closer. The 157 lb match being the marquee , Gilcher for IU and Coleman for PU
  13. Way too much Pennsylvania and Iowa hype o his website. Good info for Illinois/ rodents lstch
  14. It’s the haves and have nots, in this conference. And by a wide margin. Won’t change any time soon. Don’t mean the Marylands aren’t a good tream
  15. So is Indiana, wait , they are the cream and crimson now. Never mind
  16. Also, a guy with this much coaching talent. (You remember he had the #1 recruiting class two years in a row ,committed to Northwestern ?)by now would be leading another school to great heights.
  17. Yes same here . A very strong personality? Makes wrestling a short term profession? Ok , yea, maybe. But realistically ,this is maybe far reaching ,as a decisive reason for his disappearance from the wrestling scene. I mean this guy could recruit and develop like no one, in an Ivy League like admissions, and did not have the full 9.9 scholarships available to him.
  18. I know he went to Binghamton U. As assistant. Just wondering.
