  1. Yes. When Spencer went out and Suriano went in, Michigan surpassed Iowa for oldest starting lineup in the nation.
  2. Is Iowa actually the oldest now, or do you jest? There were Iowa age jokes, when Michigan had the oldest roster, and now some of the PSU guys are starting to get long in the tooth. I wonder where Iowa actually stands now, especially with the supposed upcoming suspensions.
  3. ... from the comfort of a padded chair in front of a food stained keyboard.
  4. He's from NC, and it was about five years ago. Also Jax Forrest and Joe Sealey are from NC.
  5. I have mixed feeling on the man, but to be fair, he was still in college when he made the team. That was pretty good back in 1988.
  6. Exactly. Here is a clip of Cael showing that identity is not at all tied to results on the mat. https://www.flowrestling.org/video/5848636-furious-cael-sanderson-throws-cube-towel-and-chair-and-is-ejected-from-world-team-trials
  7. Keep in mind that PD3 got the US some points, as did medalist Joe Colon who was technically a "backup."
  8. Geez guys! This is 100% what happened. I guess I should have included a laughing face? (Take this from a guy with an IT band issue who changed his stride to compensate for the IT band and ended up with Achilles tendinitis!)
  9. Double groin tear on Ghasempour. What was he overcompensating for?
  10. It is a really strange situation. It doesn't seem like the NCAA wanted this can of worms opened. It also is odd in that it is only one state, so the results are very disproportionate. The NCAA definitely likely wants to send a clear message about gambling, but the disproportionate location of affected schools seems to put a wrench in things. I fully understand if the NCAA drops the hammer and is very harsh; at the same time I would not be surprised by a bit of leniency. Is it true that Arizona was going to do a similar probe, but dropped it when things started getting ugly in Iowa?
  11. They sure do well at age group events!
  12. Worked a camp with Chris Edmonds. Super good guy, at least in my experience. One of my college coaches was an LSU stud. Placed at another school...
  13. I haven't seen much on him lately, but I think he had some good wins early in HS.
  14. The Bills actually beat the Giants at Giants stadium that year with Phil Simms playing. They lost at a neutral field with Simms backup, Hostetler playing. Hostetler was more mobile, however, proving to be a major problem for the Bills' pass rush.
  15. A bit late on this, but I was travelling for the past week. It is significant to note that King Abdullah of Jordan (hosts of the Junior Worlds) was a solid high school wrestler while attending prep school in the US. His brother Ali, was also successful. Numerous articles and pictures are online that mention their association with wrestling in the US.
  16. Exactly! Actually both FILA and the IOC were based in Lausanne. (as were a lot of other Olympic sports, I would guess)
  17. Switzerland is where the IOC makes it's decisions. FILA HQ was a relatively quick trip to Switzerland, but FILA leadership didn't even bother showing up to the meeting where IOC dropped wrestling.
