  1. This would be the reason. Iowa is a GREAT job. The pay would be fantastic, the fan base are rabid, the boosters are generous, and they will soon have the best facilities in the world. But... why would DT want that? He is living what appears to be a pretty good life at the moment, without the headaches that come from dealing with a few dozen 18-24 year olds. (And there is no indication that he even has the "wiring" necessary to be a head coach)
  2. 97 Kg RUS, "true 6th" correct? Are there actually 5th and 6th place points, now that the matches are contested?
  3. I am far from the wrestling mind that a lot of these athletes and coaches are, but it would seem to me, there needs to be a more concerted effort to utilize baseline defense and save the chest wraps for when they are "really there" or you "really need it." A go behind is 2 points and so is a chest wrap from the knees. Kendall Cross, the funkiest of all our Olympic champs once said that he really started to get better when he was convinced to use baseline D first and save the funk for when it was really there.
  4. Good analysis. Dake matches can be pretty boring, but his highlight reel is electric!
  5. Yes. The world is aware of it. The thing is, he has plenty of tools.
  6. Dake loves that chest wrap. You had better believe that Sidakov knew what to expect.
  7. And Vito has had experience being sucked out and underperforming at 57 kg. And now he is a year bigger.
  8. I'm pretty sure the #1 reason for Vito's "miraculous" improvement this year was him cutting way less weight. Pretty sure Rob Koll would agree with me. I'm also guessing that a entire year in which his body has likely grown a bit isn't going to make the cut to 57 kg any easier.
  9. I'll take that over Worlds. OP didn't say "World finalist, " just said "finalist."
  10. Urdu is primarily spoken in Pakistan, and some areas of Afghanistan. There is some Persian in Urdu.
  11. Very very little Aramaic is spoken in Iran now, and only in one region. Mostly it is Farsi with Arabic script. Farsi and Arabic are from two different language families. Farsi is not Semitic.
  12. Gholeij has made a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in this tournament.
  13. And Musukaev definitely won't be expecting much from him, so maybe Nick Lee can surprise the Moose.
  14. Wow. Very interesting. Taylor is one of my all time favorites to watch, but have seen some “cringe” moments from him off the mat. Very interesting allegations about weigh-ins. I remember some weird stuff about greco last year and also some strange stuff in Nur Sultan. Isn’t Lalovic Serbian? I miss LJB. Where has he been?
  15. You don’t need to tell me about Covid. It drastically altered my daughters college experience. But she still didn’t need 7 years, or even 6. Just seems like a lot of time to get an undergraduate degree. Vito is 7.5 months younger than Spencer Lee, who was often referred to as being “old.” Vito is 24, but still 15 months younger than 25 year old daton fix.
