  1. Okay. Who did you want to go instead of who we sent? To be clear, all we had to do to qualify for Worlds was weigh in at each weight. Also keep in mind that this was an extremely fast turnaround for the gents not sitting out to Final X already. Legit next morning on a flight out to an entirely different continent.
  2. Agreed. In actuality until not very long ago we weren't allowed to send 'professionals' to events like these. It was why we would send college stars for basketball, baseball, etc.

  4. To be clear, I am not deviating from the initial notion. The 'C' word just isn't accepted as politically correct in these parts. A bit vulgar for the small ears - I get it. The OP guy has a twisted mentality of success with an obviously biased grudge and no care towards the actual success of USA Wrestling insofar as results given. 9 golds and one bronze. I should have called him a mushy turdbiscuit. I will grow from this.
  5. I was reading it and was like... man... JC forgot to logout of his other account before he posted this... then I read further along... Wild 0.7 seconds for me, I tell you hwut.
  6. PSU isn't necessarily more strict. They created a job (or jobs?) to handle the NIL portion for the athletes, meaning if someone wanted to throw NIL moneys at someone they also have to go through that department. It makes it so they can ensure they are complying to the NCAA rules and regulations of them. In actuality it appears that while it may be a more strict approach to getting NIL, it is more efficient for them. Those were my interpretations of why they might seem more strict.
  7. Michigan has Cliff Keen to back them. They are going to be a factor unless the rules change.
  8. I thought more Oklahoma gents would enter... funny that they wouldn't have been allowed to if they tried - so I am curious about that.
  9. I am also curious if Guilford and/or Welker might make the decent to 68 KG. They aren't as lean as Blades or as big as Elor or Makoyed.
  10. Fair enough. In my defense I have been in Connecticut the last month or so working with a slew of Rolls-Royce gents and they use that word like we do grease in a fryer. Can I use the term 'turdbiscuit' or 'buttmunch' yet? Grandkiddos are using it a lot. It sounds fun.
  11. So he has issue with three Gold medals? What a cunt.
  12. I dead it. I choose to ignore it.
  13. Funny enough... they could conceivably meet. Sasso could go 157 next season, right? Let's say he does and ends up winning, which is possible. Let's say he then makes a go for the Olympics. He isn't going to drop to 65 KG (143.3lbs, or 13.7lbs lower) for OTT. Both him and Stalrocci could be in the 74 KG bracket.
  14. Hey Bronco, good to see you. I think it makes sense for Darracott to head up tp 165. Entering the portal does not mean you are leaving. Hell, even in some cases it js a requirement because your school doesn't have Graduate programs or won't have the one of your choosing (Slavikouski knew this last year which was why he entered then). Eischens could stay and man 174lbs for them.
  15. I did. I am equally poking fun back. I think it's great. I also enjoy your blog and what you bring with that.
  16. Why would he go 174? His Uncle wrote a check that he is going to cash. I agree Griffith to 174 makes more sense, FWIW, but Amine beating him at NCAAs has nothing to do with it. Edit: Also, ThugMassa G went 174lbs while weighing in at 170 for most meets. What does being a 165lber have to do with it?
  17. Someone is salty as shit that there is a large gap between Michigan and Illinois (still). The school and alumni are willing to do more so their product succeeds. Let us be clear on one thing: College sports have always been a product. The schools have been getting paid since their doors opened. Some of the athletic departments have over $500 million in revenue each year. Now the people making the money for the schools can get paid. People are upset that some schools and alumni are willing to support their product? Eat it.
  18. Dieringer and Amine have both beaten him and Downey has lost to him.
  19. I didn't mean you specifically. More of a general 'closer than one might think' sort of statement, so apologies there. Also, in fairness I did say 'might' and not that they do have or will have. The potential is there. The swap is also an assumption. Lamer looked like a 149 wrestling up two weight classes and Wick was entered in at 74 KG for U20s. I am not the west coast expert. That distinction belongs to you, mate. Please correct me if I am wrong. All this said, Daschle coming in might end up being Cal Poly's best option at 174/184. I would also love seeing that play out. If only Brawley had one more year...
  20. I am assuming they get Rowley. I think it is closer than you might think. The Lamers will wrestle Parco and Teemer close. I think Montalvo has HEW. He gave up damn near every time I watched him wrestle. Priest wins that one next year (methinks). Give him the full year at 184 and he will do well. Kemp or Rowley VS Valencia will be good. Wick wins 165, agreed. Honestly I wish ASU 174-197 would all drop a weight. Edit: Or Vasquez, Parco, and Teemer all go up one.
  21. Priest is probably the guy who should have been starting for them at 184 to start and end the season for them. At the beginning of the season Brawley was going 184 because Kemp was injured and it was supposed to be temporary with Priest doen at 174. Had the writing been there they could have went Brawley then Priest for the entire season. It would habe definitely given them a better shot at an at-large.
  22. Good get. Cal Poly is going to be solid next year again. That 149-184 stretch might be the best in the P12 next year 149 - Lamer 157 - Lamer 165 - Wick 174 - Rowley (Kemp?) 184 - Priest Not sure Kemp is coming back, though.
  23. To enter without penalty, right? They don't have to 'commit' yet, do they?
