  1. Pretty standard response from you
  2. You didn’t actually disprove the claim you just quoted Larry Lee, a man whose taken subtle shots a Penn State and was wrapped up in trying to recruit transfers to Iowa lol who you going to quote next Gabe Arnold’s dad ? while spencer might have thought Iowa was better training spot, penn state had the national champ at 125 and 3x finalist while recruiting him Highly doubt Suriano ducked anyone in his entire life , looking at Rutgers roster Suriano was the only real D1 level wrestler at the weight , he lost to Spencer 5-1 2 weeks outta the hospital with staph in his knee I doubt he was afraid to wrestle him healthy Suriano had no idea spencer wouldn’t be at 125 his last year because Spencer started that season and wrestled in 3 duals , then waited a bit before announcing he was going for a medical redshirt , you think Suriano was just sitting around saw on flo that spencer is done then hit the sauna and called up Michigan? also u seem to be knocking Suriano going up to 133 and winning ncaas , he won one of the toughest brackets ever , he beat a world champ (Micic) , world runner up (fix), Desanto , Lizak an ncaa finalist , Pletcher (would’ve been a finalist in 2020) , Erneste, Phillipi , 2x AA Korbin Myers and won a bracket where 2x Ncaa champ RBY took 8th and Austin Gomez AA, Tariq Wilson 2xAA , Dylan Duncan AA ,Devan Turner AA, Chaz Tucker and Brandon Paetzall both AAs the no tourney year all didnt place his path to a title at 133 was Duncan AA, Myers 2x AA ,Lizak 3x AA finalist, Micic 3x AA , finalist, world champ, and then fix 3x finalist world finalist , this weight is tougher then any bracket Lee ever won and Suriano is a weird guy to nitpick about because his hit list in unmatched in recent memory he beat 2 ncaa champs and 5 or 6 ncaa finalists
  3. Actually is because penn state had nick Suriano already so they didn’t recruit spencer
  4. Was looking up Griess , seems he was hurt the entire Covid year shortened year (his true fresh year) , only wrestled 2 duals and opens as a sophomore , became full time starter last season so navy has him listed as a senior , not sure how it works with the military academies but is this his last year of eligibility? , at most schools I know he’d have 2 maybe 3 years left
  5. Maybe Kolat unlocked another level for him
  6. Just a little fun fact for everyone who couldn’t wait to come at Robert Howard …on November 12, 2018 Anthony Caesar competed for the first time in 2 years and after 2 shoulder surgeries, in his second match he was taken down 4 times and ridden like a mule in a 11-8 lose to Bucknells Garrett Hoffman also add Howard was only able to hit the mat and start rolling around Mid Summer , so I’d say there’s a substantial amount of rust he needs to work through , and I’m 100 percent positive Cael Sanderson is smarter than everyone on this forum when it comes to wrestling and I’m sure he knows what he’s doing pretty funny , did u wrestle in college post ? you see a bunch of people pointing out how hard wrestling is and how we shouldn’t come after guys so hard and the same people liking those posts put on their track shoes to run over here and hate on Howard in early November lol
  7. It is pretty impressive, he’s knocked off Jordan Titus #1 recruit at his weight and NQ ,Cornella , LaJoie, Flores from Air Force, Koderhandt from Navy, Rooks, and lost in OT to Bartlett at the black knight invitational final last year , he could of easily won that match too …he may never start a PSU but if he ever transfers he’d be a big get for a smaller program ,he’d start at a lot of places
  8. Idk my dad used to just look at me and shake his head with disappointment and that was like a knife in the gut, I might’ve preferred he kick a trash can or too after some Ls
  9. Was a multiple placer and state finalist in middle school , underachieved some in hs , 1x SQ, , Wrestled D3 for a top 25 school for 2 years , they went out of way to help me get in and get me set up bc I was on my own , Unfortunately they should’ve just enrolled me in clown college for the way I acted the first year …spent way too much time partying and making 6-7 hr round trip drives home to see my GF , …locked in 2nd year ,made nationals ,won a match ,but working full time /class full time and wrestling full time was too much , that summer got offered a job making real $$ so I left to join the real world …still regret passing up those 2 years I have an impressive hit list of guys that have beat me though lol, Lost to Molinaro and Darrion Caldwell in high school, Alex Meade my first open tournament, beat D3 NC before he was champ Vincent Renaut , also beat Former Rutgers heavyweight Billy Smith before his growth spurt up to heavyweight ,i also once headed locked jimmy Sheptock, got the 2 , he rolled thru and proceeded to beat the daylights out of me for the next 5 minutes
  10. Fair enough, definitely could’ve phrased it differently
  11. No I asked it as a question and responded to some who actually answered the question but overwhelming majority of the responses have been calling me a troll or a douchbag or just grown men white knighting for yianni yes I understand he finally got the US a medal at 65 kg but my point is it took 5 yrs to get one medal with 0 Russians , for the level of hype , attention , and focus on yianni ( not all his doing) since he came onto the scene id expect he’d at least have his spot on the team nailed down , but now guys he beat when they were younger have caught him or passed him up but apparently pointing this out makes me a bad person or a hater , for a wrestling forum this is sure filled with a lot of soft sensitive people , I expect that from Cornell fans but not the rest of y’all
  12. Are u kidding? Are some of you related to yianni ? I can’t ask a question that criticizes a guy that sells “have some nuts” Tshirts , that every time he gives an interview he talks about how he’s going to dominate everyone and yet he just keeps losing to other Americans who get no hype or love ….it’s about 5 years since he sued for a rematch and 3/4 of the wrestling community cheered him on and since then he’s lost to more US guys then teams he’s actually made have you been living in a cave , since yianni and Spencer got to college they both have been hyped over and over as the future of US wrestling, guys done 100 flo interviews , the narrative that “he’s our best chance to medal “ been going on since he was a sophomore at Cornell …Yianni gets more hype and praise then a guy like Gilman whose a world champ and Olympic medalist , you see more yianni interviews and hype then you do for Kyle Synder , who had 4/5 world medals at the same age ,Hell flo had a whole conversation years ago led by Askren where they said yianni might be our 65 rep for the next 10 years, meanwhile we ve seen no evidence he ll ever beat nick Lee again I see people rag on kids that have been injured , call other kids busts , but god forbid someone mention prince Yianni and Y’all break out the pitch forks
  13. Ok for the 3rd time on this thread this is about freestyle , I already pointed out that yianni is in the Mount Rushmore discussion for folk style he had an absolutely amazing career…but you say still growing resume and my whole point was he’s currently 4th on the US ladder for 65kg behind Lee , McKenna after losing to him today for a 3rd time and Zain whose a world champ and coming down from 70 , but when yianni first came on scene he was talked about like the next synder or Burroughs and he’s not even close to that level
  14. Thank you for giving a legit response to my question , and that is a good one , JO seemed to come up short a lot
  15. Yes but I’m not so much getting on yianni for lack of international success he’s still young but domestically he has 3 guys in his weight for Olympic trials that have multiple wins over him and you never hear half the praise for those guys that yianni has gotten for years ..metcalf if I remember correctly was pretty dominate domestically, obviously his lack of world success is well known … I mean Yianni lost 2 straight to Zain filed a lawsuit , gave smug interviews bragging about how he has Cornell lawyers and they are the best, flew across the world to wrestle Zain when team usa went to a ranking event, hurt zains knee , then Zain had to cancel his wedding and mess up his training for worlds just to beat yianni for a 3rd straight time a few weeks out from worlds , when you rock the boat and cause that much commotion in the wrestling world I personally think you need to back that up and years later he might not even make the team this year , I also don’t see much of difference in ability from then til now so for people calling me a DBAG I’m sorry that when yianni started suing people for a rematch the benefit of the doubt went out the window for him in my eyes
  16. The guy has been hyped as a freestyle savior since his freshman year , despite losing to 4 different us peers in that time frame and I’m a douchebag for asking a question about the hype ?Maybe the only Dbag on this thread is you
  17. I mean I’m talking about freestyle , obviously he’s in the Mount Rushmore conversation for folk..my point was all the hyped big time US wrestlers from the past 20 years or so most never took domestic Ls maybe once in a blue moon, yianni stays losing to these guys , heck Nick Lee and McKenna have very real chances of keeping him off the team again
  18. Is Yianni the most over hyped US wrestler ever? Since he was a sophomore I’ve been hearing how amazing he was at freestyle…hell when he lost 2-0 to Zain then sued a huge portion of the wrestling world was ok with it bc “yianni was our best chance to medal” …meanwhile yianni has taken a lot domestic loses -Zain ,J.O. , Nick lee and multiple Ls to McKenna.. has there ever been a US wrestler this hyped that has taken this many domestic loses
  19. How’s he a tweener, he’s literally 2nd on the ladder at 86 kg, he was on this past world team , he beat zahid who went up to 92 after and medaled
  20. He’s second on the team USA ladder at 86 KG( 190 lbs) he wants and I’m sure plans for to make an Olympic team next season , cutting to 184 and worrying about his weight all season is not what’s best for him to make the team , easier to go 197 and become a full size 190 for trials
  21. The arbitrator of truth right here ladies and gentlemen, Great white north knows more then the rest of us..newspapers are actually correct most of the time lmao I needed a good chuckle on this rainy Sunday morning
  22. He didn’t flake out but he’s also not wrestling in college ever again, word is the WWE was going to begrudgingly let him wrestle in worlds and the Olympics then gable pushed and tried to get another year of college too and WWE was like hell no you need to be training with us too and then they said screw and didn’t let him wrestle at all
