I’ve heard this before, what do they get out of a lower roster limit? For a private school it’s makes sense to allow 40+ kids on a team and then tuition pays for the team and then some. Why would they not use the same logic?

I’m not arguing his past success, one of the American GOATS. But this is a future event and he’s taken lumps this year.

Why were there no Americans? Isn’t this a tournament that we generally send some of our better guys to to get international experience? btw- I fear for Snyder at the Olympics….

How does anyone compete with the 10-15 programs that are willing to throw money at facilities and have donor support: Illinois is installing a $14M facility; Iowa is getting a $31M facility. College sports are becoming an arms race, even in a sport that has no true pro league or millions to be made like the average pro in the NBA or NFL.

They developed some studs that all happened to transfer to Michigan, which doesn’t appear to care to win duals or anything, which is upsetting to see they have the money but not the will. hopefully they continue to develop guys and get back in the swing of things. With Purdue on the road at NW on February 9th it could be a good chance for both programs to get a Big10 win.

I had the opposite feeling today, coaches shouldn’t need to challenge as much and official challenges should happen more often. But also I feel like that does mess up the flow of matches. I want the right call so challenges are necessary, they need to make them quick though.

My friends and I were talking about that, keeping talent in state. I think that’s a problem for every state in all honesty. if you’re a top 5 guy in your weight you can realistically go anywhere so there is less reason to stay in state.

It was all so close, Purdue came up short on every close one. 133,141,157, 174,184 were all fantastic matches, the only thing that would have made them better would be Purdue winning them. IU is building, Purdue is young, this rivalry will hopefully be better and better moving forward.

I realistically don’t know much of IU, but Purdue has a young squad that can win match’s. Excited to see this either way as a good rivalry is always fun.

So cool what Little Rock has been able to do in such a short amount of time and with likely much less resources than Oregon State, ASU, and all of the Big10. props to them!

Just watched the replay shortly after the live stream ended on BTN+. People were saying that Eggum would be gone if not for Gable winning titles, but Minnesota clearly was the better coached team. Winning all 3 of the matches that were 1-1 going into the last minute or so is coaching. Rutgers 197lber looked like he didn’t want to be there, I saw that loss coming from the 2nd period when he looked to be going for the “easy” finishes rather than the high percentage finishes that Wouk score points more consistently. He’s an all American though so hard for me to judge….

Anyways I can watch this match?

They seem to have a lot of Donor support to bring in everyone they did…. I can’t imagine the moneybags being happy not seeing their stars go out and win duals.

I feel like we have to let him see through that monster recruiting class with Feldman, Mendez, Geog, Bozakas etc. That class is still so fresh and could make 2026(?) the first legit team race in quite some time.

Can someone explain why there would be a forfeit from Michigan at 141? Lame as ***duck**….

I saw this the other day on Reddit and I really do feel for the coach. He should have consequences but to be unable to watch Idaho HS events for 2 years and to never be able to coach at a Hs again is harsh. he ***ducked** up for sure, but he wasn’t dropping hammer fists, he was freaking out about his kid.

Flo does some things wrong, but trying to create stars and storylines is good for casual fans and hardcore fans alike. I don’t follow any Hs wrestling but I know the top guys coming in each year due to their coverage, which makes the following year more fun when I can see how guys stack up. E.g. Shapiro, Blaze, Knox
