  1. It is people feeling that they do not fit in the box that they and we have put them in and would rather exist on their own terms. I know its difficult to understand that you've been taking part in something you didn't actively choose to do. But you have. Choices you make and things you support work to move culture one way or another. People feel pressure to do things or be a certain way based on that societal pressure. When people or groups push back against the 'norm' is when we have these kinds of issues. Civil rights in the 50's and 60's is a stark example of people that did not want to abide by the 'norms' of the day. Today we would say, 'Duh, of course those were not good norms to follow and its better that they did the things they needed to do to make change'. I challenge you to find any difference(other than cosmetic) in the conversation of trans-rights versus civil rights in the 50's and 60's. A group in power/control is afraid of what 'might' happen if a minority of the population are given equal access to... things. Be it civil rights, health care, political capital, name it. They fear the world they will step into if this tiny % of people are now considered equal and deserving of similar rights and privileges as them. They are unsure how it will effect their ability to provide for themselves and their families. Or if they should fear back lash from that group. Knowing how the trans community has been treated in the past and likely in the near future and that they played a critical role in that treatment and the denying of said rights. Being on the wrong side of history in the moment is a tough reality to come to. The conservative community seems to do it every decade or so and has a very hard time recognizing it in the moment.
  2. A few fair points. I think the word 'defect' stands out a bit. As if it is bad or that person is inferior for having been born this way. It could very well be a benefit in the long run that these conditions become more normal. Not sure its necessarily a mental health issue across the board. Some people are perfectly happy expressing their gender as different from how they were assigned at birth. With no ill effects, mentally. Not sure that analogy fits. You're not asking someone to celebrate you dunking a ball when you clearly haven't done it. Transgender people are asking that they are not harassed for not wanting to dunk the ball even though they 'clearly' can. Have you heard the expression, 'If everything is a priority then nothing is.'? It seems as if that is what you're advocating for. All those other things are wrong and should and hopefully are being investigated. Are you questioning the reason for this post because you are uncomfortable with the subject matter? A reason for this post would be two fold: 1. that this is happening. We might not know for sure the reason for this attack, but people have and are being attacked for no reason other than they buck the norm and make people uncomfortable as being transgender. Lawmakers in Oklahoma saying that transgender people ARE mentally ill, which you mentioned. That carries a stigma to it as if they are dangerous and need to be separated from society for their and our benefit. 2. Although the numbers are growing, akin to when gay individuals started feeling safer to come out and more were found to have always existed, they still represent a vanishingly small number of people. Those people find push back, sometimes violently, for merely choosing to exist in far too many places. And state governments look to target transgender people by disallowing them access to health care options.
  3. You think? People born with both sets of sex organs. Where do they fall?
  4. Sex and gender are different things. Do you volunteer to check everyone or let vigilante justice sort things out?

  6. Have you ever admitted that you were wrong? Would you? You have been. You have been reluctant. That's why I don't take you seriously. Nor should anyone else. Flexing it seems is your motivation. Is that true?
  7. Did it? Was that the reason? Heaven forbid you are wrong about something. Could you even handle that?
  8. Your prejudice is showing. You should take care of that.
  9. If you go back and read the post I made this comment about. Crimes, from other people that 45 is also accused of committing but in a much more brazen way, were brought up. So, on that subject I used the word but not in reference to the civil case. Wouldn't expect you to read too far into it after you think you could dunk or flex or whatever reason you are the way you are. Carry on being a waste of time and space, jr. And before you say, 'Nu uh, you are!' Let me add that I am rubber and you are glue!
  10. Might have something to do with their PM facing fraud/bribery charges on the other side of this. Not so keen to find a solution knowing prison may be waiting for him.
  11. And you have a long way to go to prove that anything was predetermined. And again, because you haven't addressed it and this might be the crux of the case. There was harm done because the banks saw him as such a whale because he lied. Others were not allowed access to money they might have otherwise been able to use. This may and quite probably did cause harm. Businesses may have gone under. Jobs lost. Lives ruined. Much like 45 did, dozens(if not hundreds) of times, when denying businesses full payment for contracted work. Using the courts to bury them and force them to settle for pennies on the dollar. All while over stating his worth and assets to get more money to buy and screw over smaller businesses that worked with him. Not a victimless fraud. ps. never said crime. Just said he had help.
  12. That they believed the lie, because they were guaranteed a payday, doesn't make it true. Just makes them accomplices.
  13. Yes, fraudulently. When you lie to get money from someone its called fraud. He lied. Knowingly lied. Again. And again. And again. That the bank was complicit should be addressed as well. Knowing how much banks love regulations. They will be over joyed that they made money from him in the way they did. So will the other banks that didn't, that will need to spend more money to potentially follow the new regulations put in place to keep this from happening again. There, more victims. Happy?
  14. Lender and lendee may not have been harmed. But do you know who was? Everyone else that could've used that money for ANYTHING useful. He benefitted from fraud. For years. That's it. Had he not tried to be president he probably would've gotten away with it and not been charged with the other crimes too. Which is probably why he strung everyone along about releasing his taxes. Then didn't. Because he had already won and didn't need to do anything anyone wanted, just like normal. Then congress stepped in and there was nothing he could do. So he did the thing he's been doing since... suing to slow things down so he doesn't have to face any consequences. What evidence? And yes the judge can determine if evidence is pertinent to a case or if it comes from a 75+ year old orange haired unhinged toddler. Which is probably what they will appeal on... and lose. So when they lose. It will be from another court that will also determine that the 'evidence' that wasn't allowed to be brought, was not pertinent. All the while the juice will be growing on the fine. Again, everyone that had ambition to borrow from the same bank that was turned down because the funds were otherwise used for 45's fraudulent business, was potentially harmed. So the harm is incalculable.
  15. Borrelli and Tirapelle take over at Wisconsin after Bono is resigned. Experience in the upper midwest. Experience within the Big Ten. With lots of connections, and a short drive, to the suburbs of Chicago. Able to build a program from the ground up and develop athletes to succeed in high pressure environments. Give them a little bit more of an even playing field as far as recruiting. I think they turn things around quickly.
  16. If Pritz leaves NJ, which may be possible, however unlikely. Who takes over for Goodale at Rutgers? Because without Pritz, the best thing about the program is they sellout an arena for a quickly sinking Big Ten team.
  17. Lots of D3 schools in WI. Maybe one that might take a chance. Won't get paid much but he'd be able to try if his methods work at the collegiate level.
  18. 1. No it isn't. Its not choice to take a pill created to treat your chronic pain that was brought about through no fault of your own. Then through no fault of your own, and all the fault of the company that created it, that you became addicted to it. So, your solution would be to just suffer in agonizing pain and misery either way because you brought it on yourself. 2. Seems to have struck a nerve. I never mentioned 'leading' cause of anything. Just trying to point out that your knee jerk reaction to brow beat people for their 'personal choices' as a way to mitigate your guilt or other feels is a defense mechanism that needs to be addressed. Because these are PEOPLE and sometimes things happen that are out of their control. The 'personal choice' excuse, and it is an excuse, is a way to otherise a group that makes you feel icky. Makes it easier to ignore and walk past by seeing them as lacking in morality or some other dumb-ass fantasy characteristic that you hold in high regard that they could not possibly have and in so have little to no value to you. Since they have no value to you it is your opinion they should have little value to anyone else and we shouldn't spend hard earned money on people that 'CHOSE' this for themselves. Which, to be clear, THEY. DID. NOT!
  19. Is addiction a personal choice? Is domestic abuse a personal choice? If you answer yes. My follow up would be for who? If you'd care to elaborate.
  20. So how do we end homelessness? How do we keep people from becoming homeless? Is it a 'personal choices' issue or something else?
