  1. You haven't established that they are staying. Let me know when you do.
  2. Your method of discerning the truth is what I am questioning.

  4. The number was never in question. Your and other's assumptions as to what the term meant, was in question. If you're not interested in accuracy, I can't make you.
  5. Fair. Tax has remained even. Cost still up. Cost of product has gone up and come back down. Cost still up. Cost of employment has not risen much in two years. Cost still up. Cost of perks. The thing the company CAN control. Not sure if they've gone up. But profits have gone up and I would imagine the benefits for those profits have kept pace. Cost still up. Cost of maintenance. Seeing as all other things have stayed even, that this has too. Cost still up. Cost of capital has gone up. Doesn't seem to be effecting record profits. Cost still up.
  6. I have no interest in guessing how a government organization defines this term.
  7. Any chance that isn't what it means?
  8. Has the autopsy report been released? Or did someone jump on the CYA bandwagon and run with phrasing that may be used to shift blame/burden? Because it didn't come from the coroner. I have a feeling you know that and don't really care. I'm interested to see why this happened and why it continues to happen and why Oklahoma policy makers are comfortable calling people 'filth'. I would hope that you could agree that language like that, from an authority figure, could lead to violence. And that no one has mentioned that or has shown any sympathy for their situation in that school in that state is, unfortunately, not shocking at all considering this group. I'm sorry that you feel I am 'virtue signaling' because you have no sympathy for kids that struggle with things you've never had to struggle with. Or maybe you did and didn't have the resources we do now and feel that they are soft now, because 'I was able to make it without any help, they should too'. Which is an all too regular argument against helping anyone for any reason on this forum. And is just sad. I feel bad that you would rather watch people suffer because you did and that they shouldn't be treated any different even though we have the resources to make sure fewer people need to suffer.
  9. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/30/business/economy/inflation-companies-profits-higher-prices.html Just a year ago. 'Some of the world’s biggest companies have said they do not plan to change course and will continue increasing prices or keep them at elevated levels for the foreseeable future. That strategy has cushioned corporate profits. And it could keep inflation robust, contributing to the very pressures used to justify surging prices. As a result, some economists warn, policymakers at the Federal Reserve may feel compelled to keep raising interest rates, or at least not lower them, increasing the likelihood and severity of an economic downturn." They know what they are doing and don't care that it hurts consumers.
  10. I'm saying that you are reporting something as true that you have not investigated and confirmed. Also, the 7m+ number is not necessarily people in the country. Just 'encounters' at the border. If you are trying to say that 'encounters' is the same as people now living in this country, you have more work to do.
  11. And if you're already doing that? I'm guessing you're going to say, 'there's something else they can cut.' The answer to that is sure. So if they're doing that too? And so on and so on. Nothing else can be squeezed. What do they do?
  12. https://eatamericano.com/blogs/thoughts-from-the-peanut-gallery/10-food-companies-own-almost-every-grocery-store-item-you-buy
  13. The companies that are experiencing record profits will need to start paying their employees more just to maintain buying power. Thus driving down their profits again. When a few companies can effect the market for a product. In this case food. They can gouge the prices with little to no backlash. Because what are we going to do boycott eating? Their excuse WAS the pandemic and supply chain issues. Those issues have been mostly remedied. So why the continued hike of prices? Profits and lack of oversight or competitive influence.
  14. Not for nothing but that wasn't US customs and border patrol. It was someone interpreting, who says they are getting the numbers from those places. Are you trying to say that 7m+ immigrants have come into the country and stayed?
  15. Lets just say all those things are true. What could be the cause(s)? The economy is doing better and continues to grow. Why are people still struggling if all those things are true at once?
  16. Where are you getting your numbers?
  17. With regards to what? If you rebel against the country after swearing to protect it, then you can't be president? Can't see too many people getting popped for this particular violation. Unless the shaman straightens up and flies right. But maybe you mean that states run by a certain party, that has abandoned rationality altogether, will arbitrarily pull candidates of another party from the ballot. In violation of the oath, they themselves swore. Ya. I can see that happening. And the supreme courts of those states upholding it. Then maybe, just maybe, the howler monkey contingent of this SCOTUS will uphold them too. Thus, turning us into a banana republic. Because conservatives, will take their ball and go home and burn it all to the ground because they can't win at a fair game.
  18. Without reading more than the first sentence. You have no evidence of the thing that you say you have done and would like me to do. So I feel no need to read further. That a local politician provided the sound bite of his bigotry, after the fact, should have changed the tone of this forum to one of sympathy to all trans or nonbinary people in the state of Oklahoma and around the country. Because views like that are not so anonymous anymore. Have and will continue to lead to violence against people in those communities. But you can't. Because I imagine some of you hold those views. Which makes the holder of those opinions a steaming POS. Calling you out and getting you to defend the indefensible is just the thing I need to get me through the day. So be ready for more things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy. This thread has more responses than a fair few at the top of the list. So as far as hit and run thread. This one is pretty good compared to your ***I'm not very creative and act like a 5 year old*** ones that I have avoided because you all just want to giggle with each other over having the same dumb opinions. Talk about useless.

  20. Glad we can agree that its disgusting. and keep holding your breath.
  21. State Senator of Oklahoma called groups of people in his state, 'Filth'. Again, not that this rhetoric contributed to the incident in question because of the time. But don't you think that using words like that could to describe an entire group of human beings could lead someone with a proclivity for violence to put their thoughts into action after hearing something like this from a lawmaker?
  22. Would love to see evidence that you have admitted you are wrong. Please include in your response? Just kidding I know you won't. Seeing as you included no detail of what it was, can I ask, what was I mistaken about?
