  1. kinda gives the feeling they wanted russia to feel it but didn't have to balls to be consistent about it...half measures are a cowards form of insanity...i just made that up btw
  2. i just can't stand clues confirming my suspicion that the whole place is in cruise control...
  3. I'm sympathetic to this argument but its just not a sustainable standard. Even if you had a really rigorous, thoughtful, and ethical group of people in charge (which the IOC ISN'T) the question of "who is a good enough person to compete" is just beyond any sort of arbitration. Its kind of like the best free speech argument. Are some ideas so bad that they shouldn't be said ever? Yes. Is there someone so informed and wise that anyone would delegate the privilege of deciding what they get to hear? No.
  4. flo please edit the title on this page. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/12371913-2024-last-chance-olympic-team-trials-qualifier-entires
  5. Uguev and Sidakov are already qualified right? does this have something to do with it?
  6. Yeah but what about people wrestling for countries where abortion is legal?!?!?!
  7. I asked before, and its certainly taylor losing would surprise me but not stun me, but how is brooks gonna beat him? Underhooking him won't work, brooks is not a better handfighter and likely worse, no one is getting tired, Taylor's defense is much better, both take doubles and outside steps from space so thats a wash too, Taylors cross pick/knee pull is better than any leg attack brooks has... Also Brooks had to gas out Zahid to beat him, pretty sure taylor had him from the first whistle.
  8. i went to the link, it didn't say anything about bracket placement that I could see...
  9. @Wrestleknownothing The more I think about it the more I think my logic is sound. If you have to seed the placers from other weights, you can't do it directly because presumably they don't have recent matches to compare and they are basically wild cards based on how their weight cuts go, so first priority is to get them away from the one seed, then are far as possible from the two seed...so you drop the weirdo in the 3 quarter, and preserve the 2/3 semi on the bottom because the core assumption is that you don't know what to expect from the chubby guy. Would any other way make sense?
  10. I've read A christmas carol, great expectations, a tale of two cities, bleak house, hard times, dombey and son and the pickwick papers.
  11. Based on my previous made up assumptions, and assuming yiani has a higher seed than Mckenna, that would put Yianni on bottom with retherford.
  12. only thing I could think of was took at the 2020 brackets, at 74k Dake was drawn in like a third seed. Maybe the idea is keep the chubby ones away from the 1 and 2 seed as long as possible? Probably the right move...if that theory holds Retherford and Lee would be separated.
  13. is there a debtors prison you can take lame swipes at Iowa from?
  14. Another things that's glanced over, if you think Bo Nickal and every other PSU wrestler just ignores all their opponents injuries because they think its they're ethical imperative, you are naive beyond comprehension. Bo's outrage is contrived.
  15. i'm messing with you. but it really is hard to take your posts seriously when you insist on crowbarring in awkward references to how good PSU is every other sentence.
  16. yeah if it wasn't for the PSU reputation armor and the fact that no one likes valencia he'd be a villain.
  17. i went back and listened again and agree that it was a little weird (obviously I think the reaction to it is weirder), but there are a lot of things that mitigate the weirdness. 1) Starocci made a very public display of taking off his brace, so the injury was obviously on forefront of the discussion 2) The comment was prompted by the other announcer asking JB for a comment, which was obviously because starocci had just referenced the OTTs, so he said the first thing that came to mind as a competitor, maybe not smart, but not malicious 3) Burroughs wasn't bragging by implying he might have to play dirty to beat starocci, if anything it was self deprecating 4) Burroughs transitioned to talking about what an amazing career starocci had immediately after the supposedly inflammatory comment, he was trying to get off the subject...
  18. To this point, the headline here should be "What's Nickal's actual problem with Burroughs?" Imagine if Burroughs had said "If I had to wrestle starocci I wouldn't care if he was hurt or not because I'm just that much better than him."
  19. I'd argue that he's there partially because he is Jordan Burroughs and therefore people are looking for a personal twist to his insight. If he was a professional announcer and not competing, and insisted on putting in personal asides, that would be bad, but he wasn't chosen because he could provide the best and most professional commentary of anyone.
  20. Yeah a whole period earlier than it took kennedy to gas out starocci!
  21. Thats gonna be a kaleb young type weight cut.
  22. this is just not what the commentary was like....
  23. He's not the "the good one right"? That one decided he couldn't wrestle and be a navy seal for some reason.
  24. well if he was he wouldn't have to say it for one thing
