  1. And one of them was Spencer Lee, who if he would have won in the semis would NOT have forfeited in the finals. So, he lost and hung it up.
  2. They don't at the national tournament. If he would have beat Ramos would he have forfeited in the finals? No? Ok he should have finished the tournament then.
  3. People would have said the same thing last season before Matt Ramos happened. How can you say that it is likely Spencer would have beat Gilman? This was when Gilman was at his peak. In 2019-2020 season, he didn't score bonus points in only one of his wins. In 2022-2023 season, he didn't score bonus in only two of his wins. Hard to say he wasn't the same guy, or very close to it.
  4. Don't forget that he taught young wrestlers around the world that if you lose, it's ok to quit after that.
  5. Quit then? It might not be for you if you're going to let what other people think affect you that much.
  6. Pretty sure I remember he called her a f'n b*tch or something along those lines.
  7. Call me crazy, but I thought Spencer came off as a complainer and a whiner. Multiple times he complained about how if he doesn't tech someone, people lose their minds. I'm sorry but I don't feel bad for you for being extremely dominant to the point people think something is wrong if you look 'off'. He also had a nice rant complaining about how COVID altered his life because he 'probably would have been a 4-time NCAA champ' and it ended his hopes of an olympic run. You weren't a 4-time champ because you lost, not because COVID.
  8. I agree 100%. I'm just curious about what happened after the match.
  9. Big 12 semis at 149. Just got around to watching this wild match. On the video, you can't hear what Swiderski was saying to the OkSt coaches. Anyone who was there know what he said? I imagine he was not saying "Good match."
  10. Hawks also had a win at 2023 NCAAs over Gavin Kane, who ended up 8th in that bracket.
  11. Heard from a reliable/inside Mizzou wrestling source, that this happened just 2 days ago (2/7/24).
  12. I assume you're talking about Minnow. But if you're referring to me, I was just relaying what he said, which I probably shouldn't have. Hand up, not real smart of me.
  13. I'll let this post from Minnow do the talking. Who is Mizzou throwing in at 133?
  14. I think I recall hearing on Pack Mentality Pop-Ins Podcast that Pat Pop said, "We're going to do what's best for both Camacho and Trombley as well as put the team in the best position to win." Typical coach speak.
  15. First off, I think an Iowa shutout of Penn State is EXTREMELY unlikely. The dual is at CHA which mean Iowa will get some benefit from the refs. I think PSU wins at least 4 of 10 matches (Brooks, Kerk, CStarr, Bernie). However, if Iowa managed to shut out the Nittany Lions this would be a first...and also one huge loss for Penn State. Would this actually cause Jimmy Cinnabon's head to explode?
  16. To be honest, I didn't see much 'fire' or enthusiasm from the staff. When Surtin, who I thought wrestled well (needs to clean up his LA finishes, but he didn't wrestle timid) lost, and then knowing they were immediately forfeiting 133 following that, it took the wind out of their coaching staff's sails. Do I think that carried over to the athletes that were competing? That I don't know. I do think it carried over to the energy in the building though, certainly.
  17. KOT vs Olejnik. KOT up 4-1 with RT locked. Questionable takedown on the edge (which I did not think was 3). Even with the TD, KOT still only wins 8-1. There was 3 seconds left, so definitely not enough time to push for a major. I agree, very odd hill to die on if I'm Mizzou coaching staff.
  18. From someone who was there, not a fan of either team, just a wrestling junkie. I like watching the "ins and outs" and minor 'behind the scenes' details. Coleman Scott had a notepad and pen and took notes the whole dual. Every match, he was writing things down. I'm not sure if he was writing down notes for things the OSU guys needed to work on, or scouting notes on Mizzou guys for future matches, I'm sure a combination of both. Regardless, my point is, I think the guy pays EXTREMELY close attention to detail. The kind of detail you see from someone who has a been a HC at a program that he had to work to 'rebuild' (I use that term loosely because UNC is a power 5 school). But regardless, you can tell this guy was an Olympic Bronze medalist by the attention to detail. Cowboys are in good hands with him being the future.
