  1. Fair point. I always forget he was never actually enrolled at Iowa and was in fact still a recruit.
  2. If Brands & Co. end up bringing in the Ferrari's following this past weekend's antics, do we think that Iowa will start losing recruits that are already committed (I.e. DeLuca) and recruits that are still uncommitted? I have to imagine it would have some affect on recruiting. Just to be clear, this is NOT intended to be a Ferrari thread, we have enough of those.
  3. No, but I bet he says he "needs to bring his hips to the party".
  4. If anything, Terry gets canned for calling a DI head coach of another school a "big p*ss". That's not a good look. But I don't see them getting canned because of the Ferrari situation. In fact I bet we still AJ in a Hawk singlet this year.
  5. Not sure. I don't follow Mizzou religiously. I was just spitballing.
  6. I respectfully disagree with you. There are pedophiles everywhere. Churches, schools, etc. Claiming that singlets is the reason there are pedophiles videoing kids matches/reffing is like claiming that women get raped because of the clothes they wear. I say BS!!!! The reason there's pedophiles around our sport is because they're freaking sick in the head, it has nothing to do with the singlet. Period. Don't justify these people being sick in the head by giving them the out of 'singlets'. I don't buy it.
  7. Surtin vs Flynn is very interesting. Ando vs Mauller as well.
  8. Could be Steed? He's currently backing up Mauller at 157.
  9. Just want it on the record. I am NOT Midwest Wrestle from YouTube. I am from Missouri and have never reffed a match in my life.
  10. I agree with you 100%. I think if you would wrestle the national tournament, then you should wrestle the dual/tournament. If you would sit out of nationals because of the injury, then I excuse it. I was just disputing BRF's statement about not everyone being hurt.
  11. EVERYONE is ALWAYS hurt/injured in some capacity. From the time your first preseason starts, for the rest of your life, you are never ever 100% again. Period.
  12. Gotta put Naval Academy on this list. Dual meet wins over Illinois and the aforementioned Pitt (who just beat tOSU). Oregon State also comes to mind also. What they did at 2021 NCAA's was something special.
  13. I would think 149/157 for Rath. O'Toole was much longer and rangier his senior year than Rath is currently. Rath has closer build to Brock Mauller than KOT.
  14. Do you have a list of his top 5 or anything? I'm curious who he's considering. Kid is nails, obviously.
  15. There are 4 active DI head coaches that have won team titles, with Tom Ryan being one. Calling him a "shitty coach" is one of the wilder takes I've heard in a long time.
  16. So you predicted Nico Provo beating Brett Ungar in the finals at 125? And you predicted Lorenzo Norman beating Shane Griffith? What about Izzak Olejnik over Julian Ramirez for the title and David Carr over Cam Amine for 3RD!!! Come on now. This is a bad take, even for Mr. Cinnabon.
  17. A lot of times the defensive guy puts himself in the position of "danger" in order to get the stoppage and avoid the takedown. I think there's a lot of grey area which is why you can't make it a penalty point rule.
  18. Not sure if you're trolling or not. But I wholeheartedly disagree. It lived up to every bit of hype it got.
  19. Being from the St. Louis area, and having coached a few athletes both on the team and committed to the program, this one hit home a little bit more for me than others. This weekend Lindenwood announced they will be dropping their men's program (along with a long list of other sports). This comes less than 2 years after the university announced they'll be moving to DI. Not sure what I'm looking for here, more so just wanting to complain about the people in positions of power at these smaller universities not being able to do their job adequately so they take the easy way and drop programs. It's a damn shame for the kids and coaches involved.
  20. Probably one of the most consistent guys in the country that's never won a title and people love to hate on the dude. 109-13 career record, outside of being pinned last year by Keckeisen (which most people would consider an outlier) and losing to Zahid 12-4 in Dec. of 2019 (RS Frosh year), the WORST loss of his career is 6-3 to Aaron Brooks. So yes, to back the Brain here, he's really freaking good and very underrated.
  21. Besides possibly Nahshon, I don't see any of the guys you named taking that job.
