  1. I'm not saying he is or isn't better this season than in the past. BUT, if he has improved, I'd point the finger at Coleman Scott. Seems like Ok St. lightweights overall are performing better than in recent past.
  2. Add not afraid to try to actually score points and try to win. He's a breath of fresh air in the '4-2 match' world we're living in.
  3. But if he would have posted there, less eyes would see it. It's all about the clickbait right?!!
  4. Cashe Quiroga made the semis for Purdue in 2010.
  5. I did watch it. And I actually think I will skip tiers and leave it the way I have it. Makes sense in my simple little brain.
  6. Only person that could stop him is a one Mr. Austin Gomez. Aka he goes for an unnecessary lat drop, cement mixer, double overs/unders, etc. and gives up 7 or a fall. If he just wrestles I don't see anyone that can beat him though.
  7. I see your point. But getting majored by KOT is enough of an extreme for me. I don't see Carr or MM ever being majored by anyone.
  8. Hard to say he didn't progress though. 165 was much tougher his senior year, when he took 3rd, than it was in years past.
  9. I'd say my tiers, based on where guys are and how they're wrestling right now, are: T1: KOT & Carr T2: MM T3: Hamiti, Olejnik, Ramirez, Caliendo, Amine, Fish, Hall MM may be T1, but I need to see it first. And I think it's obvious he's separated himself from the T3 field.
  10. Amine has never lost to Hamiti. I know he hasn't looked good as of late. But that has to be taken into account. And if we're going off how guys look right now, Hall just beat Olejnik and had KOT on the rope. He's at least Tier 3.
  11. You've been hanging out with @Jimmy Cinnabon again huh?
  12. To answer the question in the title, seems like it's not only ok but encouraged. Look at FloWrestling. They like to make high school kids look like damn superstars. I am all for covering the sport at all levels. But I think treating 14-18 year old kids like they are 3x NCAA Champs is pretty odd.
  13. Also, outside chance Ramirez can still get the 1 seed (which only happens if he has 1 loss). If Carr beats KOT twice (dual & B12s), Messenbrink takes a loss, Olejnik takes another loss, the only remaining 1 loss wrestlers would be Carr & Ramirez. Ramirez would own the H2H and would be the 1 seed.
  14. Less losses is beneficial for seeding purposes. Right now Ramirez, Carr, Olejnik, Caliendo, and Hamiti all have 1 loss. Ramirez loses to KOT, he has two losses. Assuming Carr beats Olejnik, Olejnik will have two losses. Olejnik beat Ramirez H2H. So he gets tie breaking nod there. If Ramirez sits vs KOT, he protects that. Those Cornell guys like to play chess not checkers.
  15. So you acknowledge they held Ramirez out against Carr for seeding purposes? Because I seem to recall you defending Grey to the death saying he would never do that.
  16. After the Nashville duals situation, I am not gonna hold my breath that Cornell sends Ramirez out.
  17. Depends on which situation you mean. If you're meaning take a D2 team, like St. Cloud, move them to D1 and give them time to establish themselves/recruit D1 level kids etc. Then yea I could see a number of D2's doing well. Such as: St. Cloud State Nebraska Kearney Wisconsin Parkside Lander Univ. Maryville Central MO But if you're saying take a current D2 team as is, and put them in the D1 tournament, I don't see any being in the top 50.
  18. Agree. And I'm not sure he's top 8-10 in the B1G. He might be, but I think it's unclear at this point.
  19. Are we sure Hutmacher is a NQ level wrestler at this point?
  20. Peyton Robb v Jacori Teemer 2022 NCAA's consi-semi (I think). Shayne Van Ness v Ethen Miller 2023 NCAA's R1. Jay Borschel vs Chris Heinrich 2010 NCAA's semi.
  21. David Carr 2022-2023 season comes to mind. Had 3 wins over NCAA Champs, 4 wins over guys that made an NCAA final, and 8 wins over guys that were All-Americans.
