Amazing how people change the meaning of things to fit a narrative....SMH. Mental health care IS NOT banned for kids...period!

There is a HUGE difference between policies that are systemically racist and meant to keep a certain demographic group "down" versus results of poor management of cities/areas/schools/etc. Property taxes in the areas you speak of are low because people don't want to live there, because of decisions that law makers and city officials have made to make it less appealing to live there...period!! Thus, there isn't a lot of money for the schools. Yell at the city leaders for being terrible leaders and making terrible decisions that force people to leave the city and move elsewhere. There wasn't a devious policy out there or systemic racism that is directed at keeping a certain group down, it was just bad decisions. Have there been systemic racism in our past...OF COURSE...and that is terrible but that has changed. Same goes for your supposed argument about Health Care Policy...you paint that as somehow related to policy meant to keep one group "down" over another. Health Care policy could be improved, sure, but it isn't part of this systemic racism claim you and your ilk like to throw out there. And how in the heck would an improved health care policy make it easier for someone to get a better job?? How about get a better job and get better health care?? And your attack once again on rich people and corporations is laughable...you do understand what happens when you over tax big corporations don't you...yep...people lose those good jobs you just claimed people need to get, or products people buy now become too expensive for every person in all the different demographics to buy...you'll then be yelling systemic racism again over something you ask to have happen. Do you actually even think your thoughts through, or do you just love the emotional part of trying to spew illogical and incorrect things because your ideological group tells you to? And by the way, in our society, you absolutely can have fair, but not equal! I will never be smart enough to be a doctor, nor big enough or athletic enough to play professional sports...thus I don't deserve to get paid what they do. I can work hard at other things and earn as much money as I am willing to put forth the effort to earn. Equality is about everyone having the same chance. There are policies and programs in the US that help those who maybe aren't starting at the same point as others based on uncontrolled circumstances like who their parents are and how wealthy or poor they are.

I'll let the law and our judicial system figure out what is right and wrong in this case and how much and who has to pay. However, her appearance on MSNBC was NOT a good look and in very bad taste...very cringe worthy and is just another thing for people to not believe her. Did those things happen...sure...did we as a country realize it was wrong and try and fix policies so it isn't that way any longer...absolutely. The US, again not perfect by any means, but sure has done A LOT to fix the bad things it had engaged in and how it oppressed people in the past. We cannot make up for what has happened in the past other than change policies for the better moving forward. What policies are in place currently that is keeping some group from gaining ground? What policies right now are in place that puts people at a disadvantage over others? How would you provide a more equal floor for every single person in the US?? Give specifics My opinion...the us will never be equal...but it is fair. Opportunities are there for all people who are willing to work hard and take advantage of them.

As far as the country and it's history, NO ONE has brushed anything under the rug or is ignoring it. Second you once again have no idea who I am or who my family is or where we came from. But point being, what the heck does it matter if my family was from Russia or Australia?? For clarity for you and your completely asinine assumptions, my family is from Norway and never had anything to do with slavery or what happened to the Native American's, Mexico, Latin America, etc. But again, what is someone to do if their family history did have something to do with those horrible things??? Give something back for something they had no hand in?? Still don't know what it is that people like you want today's society to give back to make up for bad things in the past?? And how will that fix anything?? You speak of privilege and being born into a situation that may put someone in a better situation financially but again, what are people supposed to do, give all their wealth to other people so make them feel "even" or something? By the way, I was NOT born into a situation in which my family had generational wealth...quite the opposite, we were very poor...but no one in my family expected someone who was born into wealth should give us anything. And as far as the people who founded this country, they sure did know what they were doing, if they didn't we wouldn't be where we are today. Again, yes bad things happened but for that time it wasn't considered bad. So your argument essentially is what a lot of people like you do, and that is try and apply today's societal norms to our history...that is impossible to do. We should teach history and all the bad things about it (according to today's societal norms) so the bad parts of history don't repeat itself. But we can't go back and change it. There is nothing we could do now to make up for some of the bad stuff. Can we continually do better...ABSOLUTELY...but we do that as a country...are we perfect, absolutely not, but holy crap, we are a great country and that is why so many people want to come here.

Never understood the attitude, well in our history we did bad things in order to be in the position we are today, yet we should give it "all" back?? And I am not even sure what we stole and what we need to give back...yet alone how I am now privileged? If being fortunate enough to have been born in the US is "bad" or a "privilege" than I guess I am privileged that my parents happen to be living in the US when they conceived me and had me. SMH

I can't believe someone would argue for experimenting on children. There is seriously something wrong with you if you think it is okay to give KIDS biologically altering drugs of any sort because of how they feel. As adults...go for it, do whatever your little heart desires to your body and chemical make-up, but doing that to KIDS is f'ing sick!

There's talk about empathy and caring about others, yet, there is no talk about personal responsibility and personal choice for their actions. Which includes the people trying to come here illegally and the countries in which they are fleeing. I'll never understand the logic people on here use and say these poor people are leaving a country that is so bad, and it is so bad because of the US, but they want to get to the US?? Our government are a bunch of idiots about a lot of things, and we need to make changes, but holy crap, we are a GREAT country and there is a reason so many people want to come here unvetted.
