  1. But I heard he was going to be better than Neal!
  2. Quite a while back, some of my buddies lived with a greco national team member. Very low stipend, and I would be surprised if it has gone up much since.
  3. Here is the point: the other poster tried to see that RBY was a far superior version of the SAME type of wrestler that beat Lee twice (Rivera). That is patently untrue, as shown by the 2020 result. SeaBass only spent one year at the same weight as RBY, and defeated RBY head to head. I also would have to question whether RBY would have been able to go up to 141 and beat Rivera. No one is trying to say Kemerer and Starocci have the same style or are similar types of wrestlers.
  4. Well, those guys either graduated or cleared out. Suriano 133 the next year, and then back down to 125 with no Lee. Keep in mind that for the Bresser loss, Lee was still working through his first ACL and wasn't even wearing an Iowa singlet. RBY has certainly improved, and is an all-timer, although against better competition his primary strategy seems to be avoiding wrestling and then picking his spot. (No plural)
  5. Understood. But i am replying to a person whom brought up Ronny Bresser..., so I think it is probably fair game?
  6. Yep. Gross not in Lee's class, but can defeat the unbeatable RBY. RBY was scared of bottom. A real mat wrestling machine!
  7. Again, If there wasn't a ref, Lizak would still be on top of him...
  8. I'll make it easy for you. 3x champ > 2x champ and guy who gave up 3:00 RT to Ethan Lizak and majored by John Erneste at NCAAs.
  9. How is RBY a better version of SeaBass? Rivera beat RBY the last time they wrestled! lol And is a world medalist!
  10. Ronny Bresser lol Lee was in redshirt, and it was longer than three years ago.
  11. Everyone also thought he was too small to ever wrestle 125. "A 118"
  12. I think that happened with two good high schoolers. Maybe in was in MN with Marcus Levesseur and someone else?
  13. In that case, you've got it backward. RBY needs to go down to stop Lee's run. The onus is not on Lee!
  14. Similar skill sets? They have almost nothing in common!
  15. Sure thing, buddy! "Luke" beat him two years ago and hasn't since.
  16. Still... the transfer portal is out of control. And he was one of the biggest names and biggest beneficiaries in it's history. Everyone has their own reasons, and all wish for a "perfect world." I tend to really like Dave Dean and Gabe Dean, but this struck me as a bit hypocritical. "The transfer portal is out of control... but it was great for us and a lot of these other kids shouldn't be able to take advantage of it like we did!"
  17. His brother is one of the biggest transfers in recent years? Arguably one of the biggest individual beneficiaries of said portal. Left the chance to earn an Ivy degree, which would strike many as odd. Not to mention that there seems to be a little bad blood between the programs.
  18. Gabe Dean on the transfer portal on "Wrestling Changed My Life:" 'It is out of control.' I thought that was amusing coming from him.
