  1. UNI wrestler had a recent tweet making fun of the lack of natural light in Iowa's room. Meanwhile the UNI room that he was bragging about had several pillars in the middle of it. I would rather get artificial light than have Keckheisen concuss me with a blast double into the pillar. I had a room with natural light... it is too dark to notice during the winter and if the light hits the mats during the summer they can get too hot to touch. Also, people seem not to realize that all the "greys" in the Iowa facility are because it isn't finished yet.
  2. I figured Lee could do his business from wherever. Nolf, too. Bo (if he were a candidate) probably not so much. Other guys, who knows?
  3. No... but it does make it hard to train for the Olympics while starting a new job, recruiting, learning the ropes etc. Recruiting officially starts June 15th? So while, I think he can do just about everything (except M2) business-wise, and move to Stillwater, he won't really to be able to train full-time and attend to his businesses AND coach. But but but John Smith did! That was 1992, Smith was a co-coach with Monday, and was very familiar with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, the athletic dept., and the wrestlers. DT, not so much. And I don't think Bo or Brooks will be joining.
  4. Lee runs a company, but that could probably be done from anywhere.
  5. I agree. It is super fun to watch two people who don't like one another (and hold grudges) attempt to work together!
  6. John Smith has a decent coaching tree.
  7. People are having a difficult time understanding that many of these PSU/NLWC guys have lives and jobs and don't want to be college coaches. Also a ton of people who don't seem to get that Bo and DT are NOT buddies whatsoever, due to rivalry on the mat and a business falling out. DT and Brooks may not be very chummy either esp. with potential (likely undisclosed) suspension looming and the fact that Brooks seems to be "Team Bo."
  8. Nice deflection (attempt). https://www.uscirf.gov/news-room/releases-statements/uscirf-releases-report-threats-religious-sites-turkey

  10. "Dude that was 50 years." You forgot "ago." Also, it was 52. Let us pick nits!
  11. ... and Starroc-knee has now offered his two cents.
  12. He is coaching arguably the second best club in the nation at this point. He has trained high schoolers who are capable of coming right in and placing top 3 in NCAA. I'd say the jury is in.
  13. Train with NLWC? Isn't he a competitor now? Train with Nickal? Nope! Brooks? Highly unlikely!
  14. Thankfully for DT, Oklahoma State is a Nike program!
  15. Hopefully he kept some of his sky blue clothing after the move!
  16. I don't think think the RTC coach will be Derek Fix with a splash of Chris Perry mixed in.
  17. To continue your earlier posts: John Smith claimed to have beaten every World/Olympic rep in training camp matches in the general vicinity of his own Olympic weight. This streak supposedly continued until Jamill Kelly defeated him in 2004 training camp. Whether this actually happened is unknown, but it is what he told Kelly. No word on whether that was true or Smith was trying to psych Kelly up.
  18. John Smith didn't win a gold while relocating his family, selling his farm, his wife's juice bar, and his cows. Not to mention a decidedly weird training environment at PSU. Already allegedly on the outs with Nickal, Brooks won't be happy, how will Cael feel about things?
