  1. Yes, that's why I said 50% chance of wrestling FOR a medal. Your points are all good. Hidlay has a couple of age group medals. Brooks is clearly better, but also a nightmare matchup for Hidlay. All of Hidlay's strengths are completely negated by Brooks (strength, gastank, underhooks). Hidlay has a fairly good shot of top 5, and has wins over medalists.
  2. Yes, PJ Duke if I recall. He has been to many Worlds as a training partner of both Cox and Snyder.
  3. If so, he's probably a 50% shot at wrestling for a medal. That would be my guess.
  4. I know a lot of guys absolutely love Mike Macch and practically fight over him to be their training partner. Would he ever fit into something like this?
  5. The best move would be to keep Coleman Scott on staff. He actually has experience running a program, and would be a tremendous asset to Taylor. Taylor understands the wrestling side of it, but will need someone who can actually navigate the administrative side of things. Scott might be the best guy for this job. He's got experience, he knows the kids, and he's a Cowboy. Unfortunately, there might be an air of weirdness that would prevent this.
  6. Really reflective in how he trashed concussed Yianni!
  7. I made a similar post before seeing yours! Total agreement!
  8. I love how a month ago people were saying that DT would never leave State College 'because he has M2, and cows, and a juice bar!' lol
  9. This reminds me of Roy Batty's "tears in the rain" monologue in Blade Runner. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die."
  10. Smith allegedly was arguing for Scott late in the game.
  11. Not to mention the Taylor twitter snarky attacks on Cox.
  12. Much shorter, more coherent response. I will respond to your silliness. I like how you caught me on 2002 not being 20 years ago. Good job, I was wrong. Doesn't change the fact that you had no idea the US didn't go to Iran for Worlds. I also love how you are critical of my math/recollection of years, yet say that 1972 was 50 years ago!!! Maroon and hypocrite. Waiting for your apology. I'm also very pro-athlete, personally knowing someone who was denied a shot in 1980. I'm so pro-athlete that I want them to stay safe and live live.
  13. The theory was that Vince was giving him more time to develop than others might have. Vince allegedly really wanted to see things work out so badly, that he gave him more time than he might have given others. This would make sense as to why they kept him around so long.
  14. Weight cuts. Alertness. Fight through fatigue. Increased aggressiveness. Probably missing out on a bunch. I mean, I take gels with added caffeine on long runs/races for some of the same benefits. Prob less of an effect with caffeine though.
  15. Richie Figs tweeted hinting that Parco and Schultz are sell-outs. Schultz aunt fired back.
  16. It is how I remembered it, but not 100% certain. Was hoping for some help!
  17. Huh? I''m not reading all of this. I'll skim. Paris will have way, way better security than Istanbul. And we missed the Worlds in 2002. Specific threats made. I was working with a team member and a coach when stuff started going down. Please brush up on history.
  18. One of my former students has done the whole process for the past several years. Wrestled multiple ranking series, four continentals, and two worlds. Not going to Istanbul...
  19. I don't find it doubtful at all. I generally doubt the Minnow, but he's unlikely to try to make PSU or their athletes look bad.
