  1. This thread is TLDR... That said, I thought that I should chime in insofar as the current state, post-tournament. My opinion, again I haven't even read the subject, just the thread title - but there is far too much racism going rampant in today's women's basketball for us to strive to be anything like them. We already have enough Anthony Noto characters running amok.
  2. This is one of those that if the call on the mat was a Takedown, it needs to stay a Takedown. If it wasn't a Takedown it needs to remain not a Takedown. Unless there is some sort of other evidence that we can obviously not see (which I imagine there is), then I see no way that either call could have been overturned with 'no reasonable doubt' being the criteria. So yes, it appears Chamizo was absolutely pegged.
  3. Your claim has pushed me over the limit, I am so outraged.
  4. Pushouts in MGR =/= pushouts in MFS. Different styles. It is a matter of physics as to why it helps more at HWT. It sucks being under fat guys, so HWTs shoot less.
  5. What is odd to me is that McFadden, who is an average 79 KG guy didn't look small against McIntosh. It was even more odd that Pyle said McFadden wrestled 157/165 which he clearly said to make it seem like a larger gap. I wanted to slap him for that one.
  6. I got to go with the zealot here. He probably got the singlet from him while on a visit.
  7. Brands is a poor example. He is a bloated 74 KG or 165lber.
  8. Curious if 174lbs is an option. They had another gent Runyon, who was 174lbs, looking thicc as well.
  9. So preliminarily this is what I got for each weight... 57 KG 1 - Richards 2 - Gilman 3 - Fix 4 - Lee 5 - Suriano 6 - Megaludis 7 - Figueroa 8 - Cronin 9 - DeShazer 10 - Lilledahl 11 - Blaze 12 - Forrest Semi-finals - Lee over Richards, Gilman over Arujau (Gilman over Fix) Best of Three Finals - Gilman over Lee 2-1 65 KG 1 - Lee 2 - Johnny D 3 - Alirez 4 - Bartlett 5 - Mckenna 6 - Green 7 - Larkin 8 - Mendez 9 - Nahshon 10 - Gross 11 - Kolodzik 12 - Desanto 13 - Pantaleo 14 - Henson Semi-finals - Mendez over McKenna, Retherford over Alirez (Alirez over Johnny D) Best of Three Finals - Retherford over Mendez 2-1 74 KG 1 - Burroughs 2 - Nolf 3 - O'Toole 4 - Carr 5 - Starocci 6 - Mesenbrink 7 - Monday 8 - Marinelli 9 - Cenzo 10 - Facundo 11 - Berger 12 - Jacques 13 - Shapiro 14 - Haines 15 - Lockett Semi-finals - Burroughs over Carr, Nolf over O'Toole Finals - Nolf over Burroughs Best of Three Finals - Dake over Nolf 2-0 86 KG 1 - Aaron Brooks 2 - Trent Hidlay 3 - Alex Dieringer 4 - Mark Hall 5 - Chance Marsteller 6 - Max Dean 7 - Parker Keckeisen 8 - Connor Mirasola 9 - David McFadden 10 - Evan Wick Semi-finals - Brooks over Hall, Valencia over Hidlay (Hidlay over Dieringer) Finals - Brooks over Valencia Best of Three Finals - Taylor over Brooks 2-0 97 KG 1 - J’den Cox 2 - Michael Macchiavello 3 - Kollin Moore 4 - Nathan Jackson 5 - Jay Aiello 6 - Isaac Trumble 7 - Eric Schulz 8 - Anthony Cassioppi 9 - Christian Carroll Semi-finals - Cox over Jackson, Moore over Macchiavello Finals - Cox over Moore Best of Three Finals - Snyder over Cox 2-0 125 KG 1 - Hayden Zillmer 2 - Nick Gwiazdowski 3 - Dominique Bradley 4 - Wyatt Hendrickson 5 - Greg Kerkvliet 6 - Christian Lance 7 - Gary Traub 8 - Demetrius Thoms 9 - Trent Hillger 10 - Jaron Smith Semi-finals - Kerkvliet over Zillmer, Gwiazdowski over Bradley Finals - Kerkvliet over Gwiazdowski Best of Three Finals - Parris over Kerkvliet 2-0
  10. I think 57 KG isn't actually that hard to seed... 1 - Richards 2 - Gilman 3 - Fix 4 - Spencer 5 - Suriano 6 - Megaludis 7 - Figueroa 8 - Cronin 9 - DeShazer 10 - Lilledahl 11 - Blaze 12 - Forrest Keep in mind there isn't an actual criteria now, but many factors will be considered. Blaze did beat Forrest, while it was Folkstyle - it did happen. Figs just won natties and I think he will be given decent credit for that (even if it was Folkstyle it is a qualifying tournament). Figs in the 10-12 range as well, fwiw. I could see them putting Spencer ahead of Fix based on Spencer being active on the circuit, but Fix has been our guy at 57 KG before - Spencer has not. I think the committee will respect that Megaludis has had two times to beat Spencer in the last six months and got beaten soundly both times, so they'll opt for a different (potential) QF.
  11. Man 74 KG is a shit show. 1 - Burroughs 2 - Nolf 3 - O'Toole 4 - Carr 5 - Starocci 6 - Mesenbrink 7 - Monday 8 - Marinelli 9 - Cenzo 10 - Facundo 11 - Berger 12 - Jacques 13 - Shapiro 14 - Haines 15 - Lockett I think 1-2-3 are set in stone, basically. You have a decent range of who could be where. I have a feeling that they will try to keep the NLWC gents away from each other in the first round. Not sure how many coaches who will have in this seeding meeting. I would love to be a fly on the wall there. I could see Starocci above Carr, I could also see Mesenbrink above Carr. Cenzo could be as high as 6 and and as low as 10 (I don't see him being below Berger). Jacques could be dropped below Haines. Shapiro does have a world medal and Haines does not, but Haines just dominated the weight at NCAAs that Shapiro placed 3rd in.
  12. Unless Eierman retires from competition, I think he should consider giving 70 KG a proper go. He was clearly out of it at 65 KG. If his aim is to wrestle for an Olympic spot proper, he needs to head to 74 KG.
  13. He looked off in every match. He was out of position far too often and waddling around. I am curious if he had to cut too much weight to make weight or if he might have had some sort of injury that kept him out of both the Farrell and Senior Nats. He has typically been a guy to go to most tournaments.
  14. I imagine many different schools might have reached out after that performance.
  15. I, unfortunately, agree with you entirely here.
  16. Ryan's issues seem to be that the concussion protocol didn't exist when he was in the Iowa room getting pummeled by the Steiner brothers.
  17. I mean, we never know. He could get put right at the #2 or #3 based on his Dieringer result.
  18. @Truzzcat This is why I think you have him above Dean at the lowest... Repechage DZHIOEV Arsenii over DEAN Maxwell Ray by VPO1 (8-3) 3-1 WON by VPO1 (3-8) 1-3 Final 3-5 MARSTELLER Chandler Shane over DZHIOEV Arsenii by VPO (5-0) 3-0 These were back to back matches at the same tournament for Dzhioev.
  19. Do you mean Hidlay - Dieringer - Hall in that order? I think just with them going that order of finish end of last year it makes sense. I know Hidlay is like 0-8 against Hall this cycle, but he won the tournament that Hall placed 3rd at in the Bill Farrell in a bruising sort of manner. Then Hall proceeded to lose at Senior Nationals to Dieringer in pretty dominant fashion. I think the committee will favor recency bias on this one. You can't put Dieringer over Hidlay and you can't put Hall over Dieringer. It just so happens that those results happened pretty recent. Edit: NVM, I see you meant Chance Marstellar... I am an idiot. He outplaced Dean at that same tournament that he took Bronze at. Pretty easy there. I don't think you can move him ahead of Hall. Not sure the groundwork at 86 KG is there.
  20. I think 65 KG ends up being something like... 1 - Lee 2 - Yianni 3 - Alirez 4 - Bartlett 5 - Mckenna 6 - Green 7 - Larkin 8 - Mendez 9 - Nahshon 10 - Gross 11 - Kolodzik 12 - Desanto 13 - Pantaleo 14 - Henson I could see DeSanto up a few, but I don't see a reason to move him ahead of Kolodzik after he was steamrolled so badly at the Farrell. I could see a case for Yianni down at the 5 and everyone up a little, but I do not think the committee allows Yianni to fall that low. I could also see a case where Nahshon drops down below Pantaleo as well, but he is like 25-0 against Gross all-time... Henson is hard to place. I also believe I heard rumblings that he was injured prior to NCAAs as well and a decent doesn't bode well for that (ahem Starocci...)...
  21. 57 KG should look like this (for those entered, not seeds)... 57 KG Sitting out to Bottom Semi-Finals Vitali Arujau - 2023 Senior World champion 61 KG Challenge Tournament Zane Richards - 2023 World Team member Thomas Gilman - 2020 Olympic Team member Daton Fix - 2019 World Team member Marcus Blaze - 2023 U17 World champion Spencer Lee - 2023 Bill Farrell champion Nico Megaludis - 2023 Senior Nationals 2nd place Liam Cronin - 2023 Senior Nationals 3rd place Daniel DeShazer - 2023 Senior Nationals 4th place Luke Lilledahl - 2023 Senior Nationals 5th place Richard Figeroa - NCAA D1 champion at 125 lbs Joe Colon - 2018 World Team member 61 KG Nick Suriano - 2024 Pan Am Championships champion 61 KG Jax Forrest - Last Chance Qualifier
