Well, to be fair SnyderMan, he has bounced back from setbacks before. I would say that Sads would be the exception. But I would say that these three guys from Bahrain, Georgia, and Azerbaijan have improved to the point where the Bahrainian just powered through to his first World Championship and the Azerbaijani guy who got tech’ed last year by Kyle, but at an earlier tournament this year Kyle had to mount a comeback to win. Kyle also wrestled the Georgian a few years ago and beat the Georgian in a back and forth match but it didn’t seem that Kyle was in any serious jeopardy. But fast forward to this year and Kyle barely won in a squeaker with the Georgian. So my point is that if Kyle he is still improving, he seems to be improving at a slower rate than the three mentioned above. So obviously Kyle and his coaches are going to have to make some adjustments. Now Kyle is only 27 and I figured that he would wrestle and be our guy for the foreseeable future. And looking at the domestic landscape, I don’t see anyone else challenging him except maybe J’den. So I think that Kyle is going to have to figure out how to stay ahead of these young guns, or face getting left behind. I know that one poster mentioned Aaron Brooks as a possible heir to 97, but really I think he’s going to be Taylor’s replacement for 2025. I say that because I think DT especially if he wins Gold will leave his shoes on the mat. But it’s going to be interesting to see who will replace our stars, I mean SnyderMan, Dake and Taylor aren’t going to wrestle forever.

Big Bruce has 13 World and Olympic medals so he’s number one in my book. That’s over a decade of dominance. JB or John Smith, it’s a coin toss do you go with the perfect 6 in a row or do you go with JB’s number of titles and medals. I think it’s JB, he’s just put himself out there longer. Now it gets kind of murky, you could argue Snyder, David Schultz, Taylor, Dake, Kemp, and a few others. But right now it’s Snyder for me, but I think that could change in 2024, if Taylor and Dake win Gold. But Snyder has 2 Olympic medals, along with 3 World titles, and a few Silver and Bronze medals to go with that. So he like JB have just been out there standing the test of time, and still winning. Now one poster mentioned Adeline Gray, obviously a great wrestler, and maybe our greatest female wrestler, but I think the ladies should have their own list.

Wow, this MFS tourney took some unexpected twists. I mean I didn’t see Micic winning Gold or SeaBass winning Silver. I didn’t see many of the big names from Europe and what not, having the outcomes that they had. Honestly I didn’t think Zain would win Gold either, but he really was focused, and got it done. Vito, has looked like he’s been on a mission for a while now, but I didn’t see him winning the title but I did think he’d medal with a Silver or Bronze. So great for Vito, question is, what does he do in 24, like Zain Zahid knocked off a very tough Iranian and then lost, and I thought he reversed Metcalf himself, but he crunched his way to the Bronze medal, excellent effort. Parris wow, I mean wow, he almost got into the finals so I like what I saw from him. I think Parris will hold down the spot for the immediate future anyway. Dake I think he’s having weight issues, (I don’t have any inside info), but that’s what it looks like to me. He just doesn’t look like he’s the same Dake bomb kind of guy. I know that he’s probably heavily scouted, so there is that, but he just doesn’t seem to move around like he used to. I could be wrong though. Snyder, well obviously the landscape is changing, with up and comers, from Bahrain, Georgia, Azerbaijan, question is what can Snyder do. I think he’s definitely going to have to analyze everything that went on here and make some adjustments. Lee, did well, he looked better than he looked earlier in the year, so I was kind of impressed. Richards is a very good wrestler, and I don’t know if he makes another team, but if he does, I believe he will do much better. Marsteller, is also a a very good wrestler and I put him in basically the same position as Richards. And then there’s David Taylor, well what can you say, he’s like a wrestling immortal, he’s just on another level. It makes me think though, how good Aaron Brooks must be.

Why I think I’ll always prefer folkstyle

Well I am a big fan of the new freestyle rules. More action and quicker tempo. -
Wow, what a day for our guys in the medal matches. Three titles and a Bronze. Absolutely amazing. Hopefully Dake and Zahid can continue winning titles and medals. I’m really hoping for SnyderMan and Lee to finish this out, with some more titles.

Great first session. Go team.
-
I’m pretty confident that Dake is going to win it.
-
I expect DT to win, I believe that he has superior technique and endurance.
-
Well I am hoping that SnyderMan can win the Gold.
-
That would be awesome
-
It would be nice if Zain actually won a Gold
-
I can’t wait, for this event. I hope Team USA kicks butt.
-
This is just a guess on my part, but I believe that Elor wanted to test herself prior to the Senior World’s.
-
Congrats to the MFS, as well as everyone else that helped contribute to an outstanding success here at this tournament.
-
Congrats to the Gwizz winning a Gold
-
Well I know ( for Greco ) that this isn’t the results that we had hoped for, but I think that there was some bright spots with Bey’s Silver medal, and other guys picking up some wins here and there and battling tough. Hopefully these guys can find something to build on.
-
Yeah, I think China is looking more and more dominant these days.
-
Nice comeback win for Chance to win the Bronze.

Zane Richards was pretty impressive IMO, I think that he got lulled into the other guys match in the finals. Hopefully he can make the necessary adjustments for the Worlds. SnyderMan’s first match was a little surprising, hopefully he can make some tweaks between now and the Worlds. I am sure that they will face off at the Championships. I am also a little disappointed that Snyder’s opponent forfeited in the finals. I would have liked to see those two go at it again.

Well the U20 Pan Ams just concluded and we had a stellar performance from all three squads. Congrats to team USA. I would have liked to see Cuba there but I guess it is what it is.
-
This should be a very good and tough tournament. I am looking forward to seeing our guys and gals doing well, in what looks to be the last tournament before the Worlds.
-
Gomez should be a great addition to 65, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
-
I would be very surprised if JG can make the team at 65. But anything is possible. At his age I think that he would be better off physically going to 74. But I don’t see him getting past Nolf or Dake. Maybe this is a long term strategy to try and get back on the team at 70 in 2025.

I believe that the rule change should be that if you obviously drop to your knees in the zone, and then get pushed out of bounds, that should be a point.
