If the Ferraris are not going to be Hawkeyes, I don’t think that will really impact Iowa all that much. Iowa will still attract the kids that want to be Hawkeyes.

I think that this is a good thing for the Minnesota. Eggum is a good and proven coach. Also this contract is only through 26, which isn’t really that far off. And like all contracts, Minnesota could go in another direction if they chose to. But I think that the AD and others already looked at the landscape and came to the conclusion that Eggum was their best option. Now I don’t have any inside information on what the AD and others did in this regard, but I think that with many of these top flight programs your options are probably limited. While I agree with one poster that suggests that some of these excellent assistant coaches who might be a great fit, I don’t know if that particular assistant wants the mantle of head coach at this point in their lives.

I believe that if Spencer is 100% then he will be the guy, if not I think it will be Gilman.

I don’t believe that even with the Ferraris, he will beat Penn St. So I don’t know but it might be best that the Ferraris take their talents elsewhere. I have to believe that the AD and Gable aren’t happy about this.

Well if I was the Brands Bros, I think I would wait and consult with others, before doing anything. But maybe after it’s all said and done if the Ferraris apologize to the team and fans, everyone could move forward. But I will say that this wasn’t a good look in the least.

I know that the Hawkeyes won, but outside of a few bright spots, I didn’t think that they looked great. I know that this was a very good Cyclone team, probably one of their best in recent years, but comparing the Hawkeyes to the Nittany Lions I don’t see Iowa doing very well against Penn St. Now perhaps when the new semester starts the Hawks will see some additions to their lineup that will be a significant improvement.

So, I know that this is a college thread, but looking forward to perhaps this summer or to 2025, I have thought for a while that Aaron Brooks would be the heir apparent to 86 Kg., once David Taylor hangs it up, but I have to wonder if Brooks will make a run at 92 Kg. Also Kerkvliet looked better than I’ve ever seen him, so I have to wonder how much of a threat he is to make the team at 125 kg., as well as winning the NCAA title this year. I don’t know if Mason Parris is taking a redshirt or if the rumor about Gable coming back is true or not.

Well I am glad to see Spencer back on the mat. Hopefully he continues to improve and stay healthy. Mega is always a tough customer and today was no different. Pretty decent match for both guys.

Amit Elor, poised to win another title, what a run she is on. I have no idea what weight she’ll go for the Olympics but I think she is going to be a real threat for the Gold medal.

Outstanding Performance by our guys so far. Three Golds and a Bronze today. Hopefully we can get another Gold from Trimble tomorrow and add some more Bronze medals to our total. I &hope that the momentum continues for the other squads as well.

Well the IOC is all about the money. So if there is a way to increase viewership and filling up the venue, I believe that would help us get more weight classes. But how to do this is the question.

When I want to see something like a bracket or info on an individual, I just go to Wikipedia. These past few years they will show the brackets and the results. You can also clink of an individual and if some information has been received about him/her it will pop up.

Well regarding the 2024 Olympic team, I’m not sure who will see at 57, or 65, but at 74, 86, 97, I think it will be Dake, Taylor, and Snyder. At 125, it’s either going to be Gable or Parris.

Well I have looked at some of these foreign wrestlers over the past number of years, and I have been a little suspicious. And we all know that Russia has been in trouble before for state sponsorship of doping so I wonder who else is going to test positive.

Unless something drastically changes I don’t think there’s anyone in the College ranks that would give SnyderMan a run for his money. The only one that could is J’den, but I don’t think he will. I honestly believe that SnyderMan is in J’den head. It kind of reminds me of the Sammy Brooks, Miles Martin, and Bo Nickal trilogy. Bo, and Miles traded matches at times, and Bo would absolutely destroy Sammy. But Sammy would or did have Miles number.

Well SnyderMan is a mountain of muscle, but they are like a typical weightlifter, and if you look at Dake in comparison who’s obviously muscular but different from SnyderMan, so I was wondering if SnyderMan might benefit in something like what Dake does.

Interesting, but where would you suggest SnyderMan go? I do think that Kyle and his team need to do something, maybe expand his workout partners. Add another coach that specializes in strategy, ( that’s if he doesn’t have one already), but if he does that will that rankle some feathers of Varner or Cael? Honestly though, looking at the success of NLWC, I think it would be unwise for Kyle to move elsewhere. I just think that maybe bring in some fresh eyes or ideas for him even if it’s just for a consultation. Lastly I do sometimes wonder if SnyderMan would benefit if he underwent a strength and training program like Kyle Dake does.
