Until Kerk beats Cassioppi or Schultz I cannot in good conscience pick him, and I was a big time Kerk stan for a long time. He really seems to struggle against big heavies with a high wrestling IQ. Dean lost twice last year at NCAAs. He got a couple big time Carl calls in his favor. If he still had a red singlet with a big white C on his chest I'm not sure he would have received the same treatment. Brooks losing may have been the best thing to happen to him. I am anticipating a destroyer of all worlds the next 11 weeks.

Sorry got hung up on the international weights and round the kilograms up to the next weight ex: 57kg/125.7 lbs is now the 126 weight class, 65kg/143.3 lbs is now the 144 weight class which is my preference. I've been a staunch advocate for that but I recognize I am in what appears to be the minority because it opens up more high weight classes. And @Husker_Du is correct - if the athlete is ready then don't wait around for a hypothetical team situation 4 calendar years down the road. It's a team-oriented individual sport after all.

Unless Lee wrestles more of the schedule I really don't see it happening. And as I'm partial to senior freestyle results, I'm perfectly okay with that outcome as a subpremier keyboard warrior.

Brooks will breeze through the bracket and will probably be the Hodge runner-up to the winner of 165 so long as that person goes undefeated. RBY > Fix > big gap > Glory when it comes to folkstyle. The only reason Fix is even considered to have a chance, despite the winless record, is his renowned freestyle pedigree. Lewis probably won't be the #4 seed BUT if Plott stays undefeated until NCAAs (likely) and Mikey Labs beats everyone not named Starocci on the B1G schedule + keeps the match close at B1Gs tourney (possible but not probable) then I could see a path to Lewis getting dropped down to the 4 seed but hopefully that doesn't happen. Don't forget that while the All-Star match happened in real life, it absolutely did not happen as far as seeding goes and he will very likely enter NCAAs undefeated will enter NCAAs with a loss to Labriola at Vegas. However, if Lewis takes another loss prior to NCAAs then that realllllly muddies the waters and the best he will probably attain is the #3 seed given that Plott is likely to be undefeated since most B1G teams refuse to wrestle OkSt. Hopefully common sense prevails to give the possibility of a finals rematch for the fans. That would be three good potential stories for the finals broadcast: 174 finals rematch, Yianni going for #4, Lee going for #4.

Kerk and Dean are very plausible to lose as early as the quarters and no one would be that shocked. RBY and Starocci, short of all-time upsets, won't realistically lose until possibly the finals and RBY would be the more likely of the two to finally drop a match to Fix but he is a very, very heavy favorite. Starocci's only competition is Lewis and the earliest they would likely run into each other would be semis if seeding gets weird like happens every March.

100% this. Just move everything to match the international weights.

Make it only top 5 at US Open qualify for WTT and you will see much less VFO on the brackets

We did this exercise once. Granted he only ran into Vito (and I guess NaTo?) but he was a bully. https://arena.flowrestling.org/event/2559d0af-3fa9-44cd-b7a8-91e454a30d7a

Well no one thinks Lee would hang right now given his lack of cardio. But 4 more months of getting back into it? Yeahhhh buddy I’m ready!
-
Surely not even Carl would recruit over a 4x world medalist. Right? Right?????
-
The strength difference between Lee and anyone is unbelievable. He is one of the strongest 125s in a long time and he has functional strength to boot. I really feel sorry for opponents on the senior circuit once he unlocks the Dad Strength ability.

I don’t care who he was jawing at. All I know is that a pissed off Spencer Lee is good for Team USA.

Good gawd that’s Thomas Gilman’s music! Love seeing Lee fired up

Be aware of who is saying this gossip with a mountain of salt. But feisty Lee is not a common sight. Plus it’s fun to pour on to Iowa.

Soon we get to find out which is truly the superior discipline once and for all: Leestyle vs. Volkstyle

Midlands Fell Apart and Soldier Salute Stinks

Safer than the badlands known as Old Town. I was shaking in my boots anytime I went to my brown line down in ol’ Cabrini Greens every day -

Kudos for Johnnie’s but that’s in southside and if you’re in that neck of the woods you GOTTA do Vito & Nick’s instead of regretting getting a juicy beef for the next 48 hours. Or get into Beverly and grab some Top Notch if you prefer a burger. -

Ask Michael Beard and the Nevills family how taking a ___shirt for the team plays out. Most cutthroat room in the country by design.

Ahh my bad, I interpreted what you said as Eierman was better than the Mizzou champs and you meant the UFC champs -
Kyle Snyder: Next Domestic Loss and by when
bnwtwg replied to treep2000's topic in International Wrestling
I think when it happens it will either be because he is competing injured or he can no longer make 97 and it happens at 125. -

You directly said Eierman was better. Don’t backtrack. -
An ILLINI-Centric Midlands Preview
bnwtwg replied to ILLINIWrestlingBlog's topic in College Wrestling
You want to be so cowardly as to duck? I can’t support that. Where is Maximo? Where is Luffman, or eithe of his backups? Why is a HS state champ many years removed with minimal college results the #1 seed at a previously top tier folk style tournament? We are quite literally on the same team but even I can’t deflect Ducks Unlimited. And Cannon being a 5 seed is a travesty. -

1) Poeta is a coward 2) Cannon as a 5 seed? 3) Midlands has had such a hard fall from grace. It went from THEEEEE preeminent tournament to... Edmond Ruth as a 1 seed?
