  1. Oh so he lost to one person other than the world’s PFP king of the mountain? Would you like to hear about the guy perennial world title chaser Brandon Slay beat? Snyder slander will not be respected. Ask Taylor why they don’t wrestle or ask Nickal why he FFT’d.
  2. Profit margin for baseball cleats has to be lower considering the metallurgy required though
  3. Alcohol consumption By appreciated eVent I reckon a sociologist would call it ABV. And ABV drives the numbies.
  4. Only a fool would believe the Big Ten did not approach Stanford and Cal at some point. Only a bigger fool would not follow the money trail which has been very explicitly laid out by @ILLINIWrestlingBlog. Only the biggest fool would not put two and two together by seeing x+y=z x=the big money y=the regional sports money z=zero revenue [I mean cmon folks it’s a bunch of non-profits how dare anyone think this is about “total revenue” because it OBVIOUSLY equals zero out of the graciousness of their hearts]
  5. Back in the day if you saw a dude with a tattoo in hs you knew you were in for a bad time. Then I ran into someone with a tattoo AND a pair of the Illinois special edition Nike shoes. That was most assuredly not a fun time. He was a very, very, very bad man and he bumped up from 189 to prove how bad he was.

I was very much over my “twenty years ago” until I saw a new Mocco running amok and then? Yeah… flashbacks to ‘Nam when Charlie was foot sweeping me to hell. I’ve never been so happy that my kid not only isn’t the same age group but also that he doesn’t like wrestling and the Mocco bad man can’t hurt this family any more. How’s the lawsuit going btw?

They really will let anyone into this place nowadays.
  8. I never thought any of the three is indecent. But, the Gopher thread was nuked at the old place which certainly felt like because an institution's legal and/or PR team reached out very sternly; I only know of one thread nuked here [but I don't keep up with The Zoo] and that was airing some pertinent dirty laundry that took that level of public action to get attention; this one is wholly and legally public. My questions to you, a Journalist (I give you a big J unlike some bums in an illegal non-compete state that try to claim that distinction right up until it doesn't suit them) and as the holder of our keys 'round these parts is this: Why can this stay up? Why did the previous instance at this site not? What is the difference(s) between the two stories that came up on this site? What is the difference of pending legal cases that stays up here versus the old place? Again, ombudsman questions. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, we were stuck entertaining clients last night that were extremely boring. There may have been delicious aperitifs that lent themselves to me playing on my phone, but since I put these posts into the ether now I have to follow through <insert NoRagrets tattoo>
  9. Snyder is the second best wrestler on the planet.
  10. no I outgrew 103 by my senior year and finally made varsity
  11. Oh sorry @CHROMEBIRD must think that we give a shit about summer high school basketball. We should all lend forgiveness
  12. Did you not click the link that literally confirms the recent AAU distinction? Go home
  13. My head says no, my heart says yes, my head also says “durrr were you handing out the Gorarrian trophy?”
  14. As someone once said Flo is the devil!
  15. no i asked willyhoyle not billyhoyle you knucklehead
  16. Nearly identical speed which I would give a very slight edge to Focus, identical functional strength, identical gas tank (which when extrapolated to heavyweight is likely to be better for Hendrickson), identical defensive technique, and significantly better offensive technique in one move + chain wrestling + counter-offense-to-offense wrestling by Hendrickson. You can't back up against Hendrickson because he is as long as Focus so the edge game advantage goes out the window; he has a motor that has only been one REALLY stupid brain fart match from going 100mph all the time; he has better chops taking third in a tougher weight class than a freshman, albeit outstanding true freshman, won. And if you want to go to a FS comparison he would likely break Focus' ribs. And the crowd would roar. Alas none of this matters because either 1) Focus never wrestles again, or 2) even if he does return, he has been out of the game for too long at the highest level where he rightfully earned his place. To pivot - we all know GS would win, but I would like to see a motivated Steveson vs Hendrickson match and I think the results would open eyes for a few sequences.
  17. My two cents: Another thread on the old place was nuked because legal documents involving a high-profile NCAA athlete were posted. A certain thread was nuked on this place. I have to be a self-righteous ombudsman and ask what the difference(s) may be. I have a strong (and supportive fwiw unless proven otherwise) hunch, but I do feel it is important to hear from the keeper of the keys himself. Would you be willing to share with the masses?
  18. Hendrickson>Focus yesterday today and tomorrow. Styles make matchups and Hendrickson is a really, REALLY bad matchup for anyone. And that includes Kerk next time they meet up in folkstyle.
  19. Stanford and ASU should join B1G because of the AAU accreditation that only 71 schools currently have across North America. But B1G just wants that PNW broadcasting money. Pac12 dismantling is a very bad trickle down economics for our sport, just like the rest of that terrible theory.
  20. Right now? Neither. Hendrickson? Never. He's a 174 with a heavyweight's body. Kerk? If Ferrari listened to a good coach then yes absolutely. Dude's just a big boring oak tree and I genuinely feel that an all-in Ferrari would have beaten him. Won't happen, but if it did that's where my money would have been. And if Ferrari comes back he won't be all-in OR anywhere near where he could have grown to.
  21. How much will the remaining Pac-10 schools get paid to be in other conferences? Source for valuations: https://graphics.wsj.com/table/NCAA_2019 School Conf $MM (~Approx) 1. Washington Big Ten 45 2. Oregon Big Ten 45 3. Arizona State Big XII 30 4. Stanford ? ? 5. Utah Big XII 30 6. Colorado Big XII 30 7. Cal ? ? 8. Arizona Big XII 30 9. Washington State MWC 5 10. Oregon State MWC 5
  22. Lots of scuttle What's happening in the Pac 12: Oregon and Washington are using the current media rights negotiations by threatening to join the Big Ten. This seems to be a foregone accounting conclusion awaiting BOR votes if the deal is not sweet enough for Nike University. Arizona and Arizona State are locking arms - they will be the lynchpin for the future of the Pac 12. If they stay, everyone stays. As of right now the question is will there be enough media $ to remain or will they move to the Big 12? If they go to the Big 12 then Utah is also presumed to join the Big 12. Big Ten is waiting to pick apart like a Bain & Co corporate raider. But for whatever reason is NOT interested in Stanford or Cal. I mean Cal I get, but Stanford? Literally the best overall sports school and I hear they have decent academics. Pac 12 may cease to exist, or at minimum become relegated to an also-ran lower than the MAC. Ongoing BOR meetings are happening today and tonight. Big decisions that will affect our sport and likely not in a positive manner if more non-wrestling schools join the premier wrestling conference while abandoning another premier conference.
  23. Any other country and it's myeh "just" an age group title for the elite kids. You beat Japan WFS? You're a stone cold mf terminator.
  24. I didn't see tOSU win a world title this morning but I did see the first girl to EVER place in Illinois bring home a big shiny gold medal today!
