Last time I’ll quote myself. In 2020 they cut Men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s lightweight rowing.
I now see wrestling as a far off pipe dream.
but Yale…. Let’s get those dweebs wrestling.
Why’s that? I’m purely talking out my ass, but it would make sense having their own tournament would encourage the others to create a team. It’s not like they don’t have the money.
That does suck about Lindenwood, but they weren’t D1 yet and appeared to be less than competitive so far. There are much bigger schools that screwed over wrestling for worse reasons imo.
It’ll be interesting to see how it all shakes out with conferences. I think being competitive at a conference level is more important (at least until they get better) than on a national level to these smaller teams. Less EIWA teams allows them to share the wealth and the Ivys can have their tournament to get autoqualifiers.
17 schools in the EIWA is nuts. Seems that getting rid of the ivy schools will just share wealth and hopefully encourage Dartmouth and Yale to get on board with wrestling.
I could get behind 6 AA’s although I don’t know how that would affect lower level teams that are fighting to get one guy top 8. Would probably only help the 10 programs with the money.
Would be advantageous for both football and wrestling. I bet this off-season both programs work to get him beefed up. Iowa Wrestling would be smart to just throw him in with all the football lifts possible.
He got a nice win, much improved since his first match back.
I have no idea his football skill, this is just what I heard from FRL. I also doubt they know much about the Iowa linebacker depth chart.
I expected more of him. I’m on the keep the redshirt train for Arnold but pull Kooters shirt. It makes sense for him since he may eventually take off the shoes to focus on the NFL.
I fear Messinbrink could be a natty champion this year…. But I watch a lot more Big10 wrestling than anything else so I don’t see much Care or KOT during the season.
Fingers crossed they keep Mitch out of the NCAA finals.
This would be such a cool dual to be at, NC state has a great following and support it seams!
love to see a sold out basketball court with wrestling mats on it
Thankfully I’m 25 and rely on my parents for certain things. DirectTV offers steaming with their subscription. Thankfully they pay the $175 so I can watch a few duals a year on it!
He does love that place… I’d be it would be a hard decision. Like hardest decision of his life.
AWA will thrive even after he’s gone, a college team getting him on staff would jump levels like crazy.
