  1. I vote that us youngins get to use at an “okay boomer” response.
  2. I wasn’t implying you thought it sold chocolate, just pointing out that it’s a silly name.
  3. Ahh yes, the Big10’s, there are no other tournaments this weekend…. i do believe Big12’s is on ESPN+
  4. Harry’s Chocolate shop doesn’t even sell chocolate, the line is too long, and people put it on a pedestal. I, like many real boilermakers, see through the facade that Harry’s is cool. WhereElse is the place to be.
  5. They wouldn’t let me in the ivies, they knew I’d become too powerful….
  6. I have to agree. Basketball and football games get the entire schools attention 1 day a week (football) or a few times a month (big basketball game). The students absolutely care about athletics even if it’s just an excuse to get drunk and hangout, it’s a chance to bond and make friends.
  7. Appreciate the update, why in the world was the legend needed? it did help with my short attention span though!
  8. 100% he’s personally worth 1/2 a billion dollars, plus he could use UFC funds and I don’t think many people would argue. Maybe the guy after Dana could be a wrestler and focus on giving back! Dana is known to be a cheap bastard, look at fighters on 10k to show 10k to win contracts….
  9. It’s not applicable, but I don’t disagree with the sentiment. Some of the UFCs biggest draws ever are benefits of the US wrestling system; CHUCK LIDDELL, DC, Jon Jones, Henry Cejudo, Randy Couture, to a lesser extent Justin Gathje, Bo Nickal, etc….
  10. I’ve been considering who would be able to help wrestling across the country. Greg Hatcher has do so much for Arkansas, and we need more figures like that with the dollars and passion. Unfortunately, Dana white is known for being stingy with his own fighters, I can’t see him being the donor. He could benefit down the line with some sort of wrestling partnerships though, penn state now has an MMA gym on campus, college wrestling produce excellent wrestlers. I hope he would help, but I wouldn’t bank on it. Anyways, plz help papa white!
  11. Oh I’m a crypto bro too, no hate from me, I’m here for it!!!
  12. Ben is actually surprisingly level head most of the time for an ex wrestler, ex-fighter, conservative, crypto bro. he has a lot of thinks working against him but he remains logical over emotional, which I can appreciate.
  13. So the criteria is to have that countries citizenship? I guess that makes it fine by me, you’re a citizen, you can compete for them.
  14. Betting against him in a match would be silly, with a proper training cycle. Betting against him showing up would be reasonable.
  15. You listen to it, they just talked about transfers, the US not qualifying 2/6 for the Olympics yet, etc.
  16. That’s what I’m saying!!! Like if you were born there, live there, train there, etc. and you just came here for college of course you can and probably should represent your country (think of Echemendia or Bastida, they’re likely going to go rep Cuba post grad if they wish to continue, which I hope they do. Or even Lachlan McNeal for Canada.) But to just be like “on yeah my grandpa was born in Mexico so I want to represent them” doesn’t sit well. I am all for sending US trained athletes everywhere to compete, but there needs to be some way to legitimize the process so it’s not just Russia, the US, etc. sending their guys to rep a smaller or lesser wrestling nation to avoid winning the team spot. Maybe instead of focusing on sending our guys to other countries we should focus on bringing other countries to us to train and send them back home when worlds, Olympics, etc. come around to rep where they’re from.
  17. This is my biggest point of contention. I don’t know what we consider to be a citizen, I don’t care that people go represent other countries but what’s stopping anyone from trying to represent any country? It needs to be stricter, maybe parents born there or similar. I don’t have the answer but I wish I understood it as is.
  18. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/12251953-2024-big-ten-wrestling-championship-preseeds-are-out Ramos at 125 gets the 1 seed, repping boiler nation well. why does 141 have two 9 seeds?
  19. Just listened to this podcast. Was much better that prior episodes (note: Ollie was not present. Do with that info what you will.) There was good international discussion centered around Pan-Ams and transfers.
  20. Whatever they’re paying you, I’ll pay double! jk but keep us updated! I’ve never done anything like this and would love a crack at it!
  21. I didn’t expect them to be competitive, obviously it requires growth. But also it’s not like we lost a perennial powerhouse. I may have been mean to the Lindenwood team, but I didn’t say anything incorrect.
  22. Holy hell, this is the best thing I’ve ever read on this forum. Great job being able to interpret his manic rants!
