  1. So 2 tickets, $2,500 each for the seat and food and drink over 3 days? Good luck, you're awesome if you find someone who will pay this, but you could buy from scalpers out front and get much better seats in T-Mobile and eat and drink till you puke, all for a fraction of the cost.
  2. I can't stand Brands, but so far he has kept the cancer at a distance. That being said, besides AJ who is a lost cause, I could see the Brands trying to work with the other 2, assuming the 3 aren't a package deal. He had decent success with Desanto, so maybe he has the right mentality to deal with that type of kid.
  3. Will you please shut up. It seems like almost every time you respond to a thread you get in an argument and show your ass.
  4. IMO means in my opinion. Mizzou had no 133 pounder and a jv 149 in that dual. That allowed OSU to take an open at 133, bump Fix to 141, and beat Mizzou's jv 149. +12 OSU team points. Normal lineups probably see a Fix decision over Moore (who had just beaten Latona) at 133, and Mizzou decisions at 141 and 149 where they were higher ranked. +3 Mizzou team points. A 15 point swing, in a 14 point dual. I'm not saying Mizzou wins that dual, but it would have been a nail-biter if they had their full lineup, which OSU did. So THAT'S my opinion.
  5. And I'll give Mizzou some credit, they just beat the #11 team on the road, minus 3 starters. But it was still not a good dual for them.
  6. Thank god for Z. Elam. Not sure why Smith started 3 2nd/3rd teamers. Damn near put themselves in 4th place in the B12 when they should be 1st (IMO). They need to pull a Chiefs and say screw the rest of the season, we're gonna turn it on at the end when it really matters.
  7. You've got 2 redshirt senior all-Americans in Mauller and Mocco who should be setting the tone, coasting through the last month of their last season.
  8. Smith does this. He'll hold guys out sometimes or give other guys some mat time in easier duals. Although it back-fired on him a couple of years ago when he held several guys out and lost to SDSU. Moore is probably out for a while though with his non-wrestling related injuries, and Smith has been very careful with R. Elam this season. Not sure about Gioffre. Hopefully we'll see his full healthy lineup on Sunday.
  9. He did, when Ben was a freshman and sophomore. Might have been different if he wrestled him his last 2 seasons, when he went 87-0 with 54 pins and won 2 Hodge's.
  10. Not sure if Maple is next in line, but he wouldn't be a bad choice. You always roll the dice when you hire a first-time head coach, but he's got the resume: NCAA champ, Academic All-American, US Open champ, asst. coach at OU, Purdue, and Nebraska. He also has a masters in intercollegiate athletic administration. This is his 5th year at Mizzou and 2nd as associate head coach. They could do a lot worse.
  11. Blair Academy had 3 in the finals in 2005 I believe. Mocco 1st, Esposito 1st, and Mark Perry 2nd.
  12. Can we all (even Iowa fans) just agree that the guy is a POS and should be ignored? He is a skidmark on the sport and is just a bad person who has nothing to offer the world besides healing crystals and date rape jokes. Can't wait till he goes MMA and gets his ass handed to him.
  13. I'm not defending JC, but if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black.
  14. I think you mean Sirius. It's on the Eye in the Sky Album by APP.
  15. O'Toole could beat Jacques, but took one for the team to keep the 2x NQ in the line-up, and bumped to 165 (where he took 3rd, compared to Jacques DNP). I never once heard of Jacques beating O'Toole.
  16. I know they're different wrestlers, but ask Zach what happens when you go 285 only weighing 225. Wasn't pretty. Counting HS he's been at the same weight for the last 5 years, he's not suddenly going to grow into a heavyweight. He has national championship potential at 197. And to address MM's post, I think the biggest problem with Mauller is the bump to 157 after 4 years at 149. He had an relatively easy first half of the season against weaker opponents, which made him think he could handle 157 just fine. I think he may be regretting the decision now that he's wrestling some of the top guys. Just my opinions
  17. They were on the team at the same time when Travis was a freshman and Mauller was a senior. They were 120 and 152 though so I doubt they wrestled much. I wouldn't be surprised at all though if Brock visited the room some in college while Travis was still there. Mauller looked pretty bad last week against Cornell. I'm sure he'll be ready to fight on Senior Day.
  18. Easy to bridge when you're using your shoulders.
  19. JimmyDB's either a senile old man or a bullied teen. Either way you should take it easy on the poor guy.
  20. And without bringing in transfers like some coaches have to do. His guys are developed, not poached.
  21. Probably not, but now that Oklahoma is joining, the SEC has 2 legit perennial powers. And with women's wrestling becoming more popular, schools could add men's and women's wrestling without violating Title IX. Of course if the NCAA would just pull their heads out of their asses and quit counting the 85 full ride D1 football scholarships towards Title IX compliance, then everything would be fine for all of the other sports.
  22. I've seen guys hit that spinning leg attack in high school, but never on a D1 kid. He started the season as the backup to Seltzer, but Seltzer apparently was having too tough of a time making the weight. He had a nail-biter with Vito on Sunday, which speaks volumes. He definitely brings it!
