  1. What kind of man makes up excuse after excuse for rape? What kind of man is an apologist for convicted rapists? A sick man. That you do not like me makes me feel better about myself.
  2. This is the kinder, gentler version of WKN. We don't want to pull those skeletons out of the closet. Besides, none of my stories are all that interesting.
  3. It happens from time to time in democratic countries that do not have a two party system. In order to have a majority they form alliances among multiple parties. Sometimes those alliances break apart and they need to "form a new government". In Israel, for example, the current coalition consists of seven parties. The UK has had coalition governments as recently as 2015. First with the Tea Party, and now with the Freedom Caucus, that is sort of what is happening here.
  4. I think it matters for a few reasons. The obvious one is that without a Speaker nothing can happen in the House which means no legislation can happen, appropriations bills are not voted upon, etc. In short, the thing they were elected to do, and that we need them to do, is not happening. The second reason is an offshoot of the first. Without a functioning House, all legislation/bills are going to be crafted by the Senate. That means Democrats get to go first with all legislative business. They get to set the anchor for any negotiations on a bill. And anchoring in negotiations is very important. The third reason, is that if the Republicans want to maintain control over the House, never mind regain control of the Senate and/or the White House, it would be helpful to not be perceived by voters as a bunch of bungling amateurs who cannot even elect a leader among their ranks, or keep the one they elected, never mind actually run the country. I think one big thing that the Freedom Caucus misses is that in pursuing their goals with scorched earth tactics, they make it almost impossible to achieve their goals. As a younger man I found it tempting to do stuff like that, too. But now I call it 30 seconds of satisfaction for a lifetime of regret. I am sure others can think of a few more reasons to add.
  5. And creating a new user name to complain about someone else's character is a well known high character move.
  6. No idea. I was too busy laughing at @WyldCard's inability to structure a sentence while complaining about someone else's spelling.
  7. I honestly have no idea how to handicap this. Given the difference between the public vote and the private vote within the Republican caucus, there were clearly some big issues with Jordan. But I do not know if that means they will pick the opposite of Jordan (Scott when it comes to denying the deniers) or if they will settle on Jordan-lite. At this point it is either reading tea leaves or wishful thinking if someone claims they know which way this will go.
  8. Really? Emmer has been talked about a lot this past week as a Jordan alternative and even garnered a few votes on the floor. And Scott was the first to say he is running weeks ago.
  9. You created a new user name just to post this? Why not use your other user name?
  10. The lucky nine are: Tom Emmer Mike Johnson Byron Donalds Kevin Hern Jack Bergman Austin Scott Pete Sessions Gary Palmer Dan Meuser Seven of the nine candidates refused to certify that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. Only Emmer and Scott voted to certify.
  11. You need a thank you, a like, and a laugh for this. But alas, I am only allowed one of those per post.
  12. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/10079459-1-angelo-ferrari-has-narrowed-his-college-decision-to-5-schools Flo had him top ranked at the end of 2022.
  13. Don't be shy. Go ahead and give us your conspiracy theory.
  14. You have to know by now that I quantify. It is what I do. And if you make a bold claim like "I did very well" you are inviting the multi-page thread. Don't act like you don't love it. As an educator I propose the scale you should be familar with. 90% is an A (very well), 80% is a B (well), 70% is a C (average), 60% is a D, less is an F.
  15. As I thought about it more you have to go under no matter the number. With the two brothers who are considered title contenders not even Iowa students, and with the tendency for the family not to stay in any one place for an extended time, it has to be under.
  16. On HR the OP had it at 5.5 including AJ's OSU title. He is then implying 4.5 at Iowa. That seems high since it is conditioned on them winning AND getting into Iowa AND staying at Iowa.
  17. Given your struggles with basic vocabulary, I am VERY concerned you meant to say erotic. Please tell me you understand the difference and that wasn't what you meant.
