  1. He really is, feldkamp is a bit overranked, kinda like hoffman from ohio state. One killer ncaa's perpetually puts him in the rankings which he realistically will not get back to again.
  2. I'm already disappointed that the ncaa seeding committee is going to put plott and keckeisen on the same side of the bracket
  3. I'm really enjoying listening to these angry screaming ladies in this broadcast...
  4. Lol at the look-away disdainful limp handshake that Okie state coaches give to opposing kids. That's pretty weak.
  5. That's an action call? did these refs get threatened before the match?
  6. Carr really looking like he has Olejnik figured out
  7. Lol, "where the betting isn't real and the points don't matter anyway!"
  8. I am short both of those dudes come march.
  9. one-sided officiating really makes this predictable and boring.
  10. West Virginia impressed the hell out of me. They were scrappy, wily and game, they could also scramble their heads off. Good things are happening in that room clearly. A bunch of those kids are sleepers for march definitely. I will legitimately offer the Edmond vs Titus match as the best wrestling match I have ever seen. I believe the phrase is "two cats/raccoons trapped in a feed sack". I'm an east coaster so please excuse my mauling of that phrase, but those dudes went after it.
  11. That's an easy to say if you have never watched him wrestle before. Go watch film of him from high school and his college career at 184 then revisit that comment. Anyone who's made the "I'm burnt out and want to eat I'm moving up in weight" weight bump decision recognizes it in others as well...
  12. He's coming off an injury, and is way too small for the weight. He basically decided not to cut weight this year, he already had a small frame for 184, but he was powerful and extremely hard to score on. He's getting outmuscled at 197, and his splits defense just doesn't work at 197 because guys can still reach his other leg.
  13. How many does mckee the younger have? He’s had some real deep consi runs too
  14. Kennedy is definitely benefitting from having caliendo and franek in the room
  15. Dang, that was delivered to the Buckeyes on a silver platter...that was pretty gross. I'm all for good matches, but that was the most manufactured stalling point I've seen outside of carver hawkeye.
  16. Man, this so much right here. It literally is just reframing back to the way it used to be before NIL almost. The NCAA is still working so very hard to maintain an asymmetric (ie domineering) relationship with athletes. They are so bald-faced in their motives.
  17. Facts and facts, 100% warranted and agreed on that front.
  18. The dude paid his debt, and hopefully is actively working on whatever issues he has. I haven’t seen him flipping off crowds or humping car hoods or anything like that…but have I missed something?
  19. Once again, this sh*t is stupid. Weed finally gets legalized in a bunch of places and we go ahead and implement even more victorian laws…
  20. There are an amazing number of people asking if Tom admitted his wrestlers broke an NCAA rule, in the face of a government investigator conducting the electronic equivalent of breaking and entering on untold numbers of people’s electronic devices. Nevermind that the NCAA decision is a result of an illegal search, which has material NIL ramifications for these athletes, there are major MAJOR safety and security concerns about the investigators actions. For context, how many years in jail would a random adult male unaffiliated with the school get for geofencing a college dorm and getting found out for hacking into student electronic devices? The state would throw the book at that theoretical person.
  21. The reason for this is real, and its bc the committee has flubbed in the other direction in the past, and really jacked up tournaments as a result. Rankings here are a formality at best, but there is a reason for a match threshold. Specifically, their names are senior year darrion caldwell and senior year Dustin schlatter. Sadly, two of my favorite wrestlers all time, but they were no longer their best athletic selves due to injury, were given the benefit of the doubt in seeding, and defaulted very early in the tournament.
  22. Didn’t pat downey make a world team?
  23. I’m hearing a lot on here dismissing the notion of abuse of power by enforcers. The NCAA seems to have gotten its information from the iowa state level equivalent of the FBI, and this is by no means the first time law enforcement has gotten “overly eager” when pursuing a high profile case.
  24. Or maybe reimbursed a year of eligibility? It smelled fishy from the beginning, definitely like someone was trying to build to a career stepping stone on the heads of college athletes.
