  1. I understand your point and don’t disagree necessarily. The issue lies in this There are multiple, not single “ehhh”/iffy cases, multiple cases where many people know something is up, or that a person shouldn’t be coaching/be around wresting. But that person has “powerful friends” or litigation could happen and it prevents the right things from being done. Or no one wants to believe.. and all that at least delays the right thing until it it becomes a ticking time bomb thet is going to eventually blow up, but everyone continues like it’s business as usual until it all crashes. Then afterwards, pretty everyone is like “yeah we heard/knew”. Do I have a point.. eh just that things/stories like this don’t come from nowhere and people are starting to get sick of them being ignored. Final point, both Willie/Rokfin and and Saylor/Flo are agreeing on something. That says a lot by itself
  2. I coach in Chicagoland. I have enough to deal with so I’ll just say. No one is surprised so far
  3. I just say things like “open up” “Try stuff, nothing to lose” Do my best to be Neutral and non biased each way. I tell them before I’m not coaching either specifically.
  4. You know, there’s a lot, way too much “alleged” stuff that’s gotten swept under or ignored. For a lot of different but related things in wrestling So in a way I’m happy this dude is exposing himself. Hopefully it’ll lead to the rest getting exposed
  5. I haven’t slogged through the whole thread.. but yes it/they exists. The most annoying thing as someone who coaches where i coach isn’t even that it happens. It’s that people pretend it doesn’t. Until an honest discussion can be had, it sometimes feels pointless to talk about
  6. I honestly didn’t know which “situation” or “alleged” behavior this thread might be referring to when I saw the title.. which bums me out. And yeah creeps should be dealt with
  7. Hey all, I apologize for not putting this on the high school forum ahead of time. Does anyone have a good excel template for inputting individual wrestler statistics? (Takedowns, escapes, etc) I cannot use Matboss or level changer because my school will get us any equipment we need but thinks getting 2-3 iPads is a luxury not a need. edit: grammar
  8. This, the kind of coaches willing to do the hustle, development and coaching, and deal with all the extra challenges of the schools, to get their athletes competitive/elite… it’s a lot of work. To have the work and time you’ve put in developing your program/athletes just for them to get poached… it makes being willing to coach at those smaller places with less resources tough… And yes, I’m all for the athletes, but coaches have ambitions and egos too. It’s one thing to be competitive and ambitious, all coaches are.. but the coach wanting to do it with “their” athletes they developed… the type that takes pride in doing it with less… having their athletes constantly getting poached is extra hard. JMB at app state had to deal with Milner getting talked to AT NCAAS. So instead of being able to just celebrate the great moment… he’s dealing with that… Would Edinboro have had its run in this era with those athletes… probably not because some probably would have been poached away… and no, I’m not saying the kids should get NIL or be allowed to transfer. But people need to stop ignoring the realities it creates
  9. We had it running in less than 10 after the decision to go paper….
  10. The FINALLY decided to use paper here
  11. Is it down where yall are at?? With all these states using track/opc.. Flo is screwing high school wrestling…
  12. There’s multiple. It either needs to be pure criteria or nothing
  13. Tweaking the separation criteria would be fine but there’s a reason pretty much every state only uses criteria to seed/separate kids at state. And quite frankly, unless TN wrestling has magically changed since I left.. a zoom/coaches seed meeting for state would be even less fair
  14. Im fine with them for elementary. But everyone keeps acting like every school has 3000 kids and and the ability to produce numbers that this wouldn’t be detrimental in high school. Its also hard to take it seriously when most people are like “oh you’re just being old school, ugh you dinosaur”
  15. Programs will drop. Everyone is making very big assumptions
  16. The type of coach encouraging unhealthy cutting isn’t building programs anymore 9/10
  17. No. The biggest problem will be that you’ll have teams filling less weights.. forfeiting more because instead of doing hour before weigh ins that let a kids who’s a fluffy 185 healthily manage to 175. or if I have two kids who weigh 142.. I should forfeit 138 instead of one kid doing the proper things to make 138 and be healthy. A problem that 90% a youth wrestling issue because that’s where 90% of the bad stuff occurs For example, the board of the organization that runs youth wrestling in my state.. literally had half the coaches derail the meeting because of they were mad 10 year old “state” would have 3 weigh ins not 2.. I will take the argument for mat side weigh-ins for youth. Though I always offend people by how I don’t overrate elementary “success”. For high school.. no I can’t take any arguments seriously.. you’re just going to make it even harder for the coaches trying to build programs. Not every coach has the luxury of open enrollment or 3000 kids or an established wrestling culture
  18. this If people want teams to forfeit more and make their programs look like not supporting.. do mat side weigh ins After all. It’s Better that coach at a difficult school only be able to fill 4 weights than 8
  19. Guys. He’s clearly trying to “preach” a very.. questionable viewpoint.. by pretending to have a “discussion”. Stop giving him the attention he wants.. Besides.. if he actually wanted to.. and more importantly was actually doing things to help wrestling… He wouldn’t be so ignorant of the bureaucracy and financial realities on the ground. instead he’s spewing his bitterness to women and posting wiki excerpts about colleges. Dont give him the attention he’s clearly desperate for
  20. There was a whole controversy because a team apparently either didn’t show up or put in its backups to (allegedly) try to avoid giving St Ed’s too many matches with their kids
