  1. I like this stuff: Why Michael Phelps Has the Perfect Body for Swimming https://www.biography.com/athletes/michael-phelp-perfect-body-swimming Is it true? Idk
  2. Adam had a a peculiar body type, too. He had a real long torso and real short legs. BTW you might have mispojen about Sydney, or I'm just reading your post incorrectly: B Saitiev was the bean pole, but didn't wrestle Romero in Sydney. A Saitiev did.
  3. Here's the 5'1" at 60 kg exception that proves the rule:
  4. Yeah, it was more of a question for getting to know the other fans a little better.
  5. Re laying down roots: Ignoring all of the wrestling advantages, how would you rank the top 10 finishers at NCAAs in terms of livability? Related: can the Columbia coach afford to live in the city?
  6. I just rewatched the match (because I'm a masochist?). I watched with the sound off (because I'm not that much of a masochist). Fix didn't back up nearly as much as I remember. And, he nearly pulled off the takedown on the edge, a la Perry vs Howe. If he got that foot ... Idk. Re bricks and such, I got a hot take: the challenges he won might have led to the stall call(s). Ref was trying to right a wrong.
  7. Yeah, this story is not gonna instill a lot of confidence in recruits. It could be the case that there wasn't much left for Smith to do. I mean, Fix was in the Cowboy program from birth. He likely knew everything Smith had to teach him. But this possibility is just as damning. It suggests that Smith and his methods have stagnated. I'm not saying anything new, and it's hyperbole born out of frustration.
  8. Old news: I take it that the ordeal was/is beyond explanation, no?
  9. I thought Figs would wrestle one match the way he wrestled Spratley. Every round I would wait for that match, and every round it wouldn't come. Instead of seeing that he was on, I figured he would wrestle that match in the finals. I was wrong.
  10. Yeah ... and silence on the set. The circus at 133 has pushed me over the edge.
  11. I disagree. It should be like tennis: no coaching during the match.
  12. Good point. What about if he started his flurry at :50? ** Edit ** However, if it were just a 1 point stall, then Carr for sure gets hit.
  13. Yeah, it seems like JS uses the brick like a fan sitting at home would.
  14. If no td, can't imagine a scenario where he doesn't get the 2-point stall call.
  15. Mesenbrink's dad seems like a pretty involved parent. Does he give Cael a talking to?
  16. I'm not done talking about this, and my wife and kids are still getting up. So, here goes... First, a disclaimer: While I have been an OSU fan all of my life (a legacy case), I stan with Ragusin. John Smith worries about the refs and intricacies of skirting the rules way too much. He did it as an athlete, and he does it as a coach. I imagine it was a part of Cowboy wrestling culture when he got there, and he has carried on the tradition. This preoccupation wins some matches (Fix vs Suriano part 1) and loses some matches (Fix vs Suriano part 2). I can't say if it leads to more wins than loses, but it does leave me with a bad taste in my mouth either way. It just seems that constantly trying to game the system is bad juju. But last night, what other options did they have? Every time Fix moved forward or even thought about initiating action, he got burned. The only time he got close to scoring was in the scramble on the edge, a scramble initiated by Vito's attack. If you know you're outmatched going in -- like the dude's got more physical and technical tools in every position -- do you just concede? Or do you do try to stall, bitch, and brick your way to victory?
  17. Let's give credit where credit is due bc he learned from the best: Perry-ism tactics.
  18. To be fair, his go-to moves ... errr only scoring moves ... are "high flying": the inside trip and the leg wingroll thing on bottom.
  19. JS is the GOAT, but his matside manner is shameless. **Edit** I know that I completely misrepresented what you said. I'm just really frustrated with my team.
