  1. Hmm. This makes it seem like without Carter their chances are slim. A Carter-less PSU still wins going away. What keeping Carter does is make the team score laughable.
  2. What's this story? I want to get the joke, too. I like blasphemous mockery.
  3. Apparently, I am just a fan who has no idea what really led to Scott's departure from UNC.
  4. All coaches imagine gettibg the opportunity to correct what they saw as flaws in the way they were coached. If DT had to pick out one way that CS dropped the ball, what would he say? Related: will the cowboys be playing dodgeball now?
  5. Alcoholic here, and I am proud of the time I have in sobriety. But let me just mention this: Stillwater. Edit: It's why I got just a touch of buyer's remorse re Taylor. Coleman Scott lived there AND LIKED IT . . . so much so that he got out, lived in a place hospitable to humans, and then took a demotion to come back. That's some crazy shit.
  6. I like the stage for the pole-dancers. I'm assuming there's an adjacent Champagne Room.
  7. This is why they'll keep Derek Fix and Chris Perry on staff. It's the one area where there's common ground
  8. Idk. Fix did figure out how to beat him. Gilman was the one guy that the Cross- cartwheel- shit worked on.
  9. No doubt. Smith must have believed that he had the final word on all things Cowboy wrestling. Then admin showed us exactly what his life's work is worth to them.
  10. Ugghhh. This might be a fkn disaster: we got two powerful ego-maniacs (JWS and DT) at odds from the jump.
  11. I can't see any of the current assistants surviving the transition. I cant even imagine Chris Perry having a conversation with David Taylor.
  12. Did Smith have any say in this? I mean, does he wield a Gable-like influence over Cowboy wrestling?
  13. He already received special dispensation for the Old Testament tattoo no-no. So, I dont think PEDs are that big a deal. I'm fairly certainly there are no explicit prohibitions.
  14. Yeah, gotdam genius that guy. Saw what no one else saw . . . except, ya know, everybody.
  15. Isn't it going to be a screw job even if Scott ends up being the coach? Like, "we wanted this other guy, but since your still available . . ."
  16. You're right obviously. I guess I was just rushing to make the point that he bowed out kinda early. Like he wasn't chasing records.
  17. He only competed one olympic cycle. Seems to me like he has his own measures of success.
  18. Im going to pretend that all my dreams have come true and that DT is the new coach. What does Smith think about it? How much influence did he have in the process? What's the initial damage re team morale, etc?
  19. For David Taylor? Yes. I'm totally on board with this outright betrayal. Edit: But if OSU doesn't seal the deal with Taylor, then the admin has irreparably undermined Scott.
  20. Is Iowa still a possibilty? No, right?
  21. Bingo. I conflated the two. Thanks for the second time!
