  2. To put out the best possible starting lineup for a dual among these lads, I might go like this: 125: Brett Ungar 133: Ryan Crookham 141: Julian Chlebove 149: Tyler Kasak 157: Sammy Sasso (Evan Maag as replacement if you won't allow me to choose an injured wrestler) 165: Andrew Cerniglia 174: Connor Herceg 184: Lenny Pinto 197: Sonny Sasso 285: Matthew Cruise Other than heavyweight, 174, and perhaps 157 (depending on how you view it), you have seven guys that are good enough to qualify for nationals. After that you figure you'd have Sammy Sasso and Crookham as title threats, guaranteed AA. Kasak, and Pinto as likely AA. And then Cerniglia, Chlebove, Sonny Sasso and Ungar capable of making a little noise. It's not a team per se, but I would be rooting for these guys individually
  3. it's a classic depth vs breadth trade-off. I think if you stay in one place longer, you could achieve deeper and more meaningful relationships with people. If you go around a lot, you can see lots of different types of things and meet different types of people - at a more superficial level though.
  4. Funny enough - two the four times I have been detained were not in states of my residence. This was a chart with time-weighted percent of my life lived in each of these places. In many of them I moved around within a neighborhood, and just kept it to the overall metro area. I move every 18 months or so over the course of my life so far
  5. it's nice to see a guy win with humility like this. he doesn't even care if the other guy gets the credit for something he didn't earn
  6. Just in case you guys didn't know about this, you can search the following database to see which people have donated to which politicians over time (and how much and when, etc). Tom Brands has donated nothing, while Terry has made two donations shown below: https://www.opensecrets.org/donor-lookup/
  7. Dan Gable - Iowa Gable Steveson - Indiana, Minnesota Robert Louis Stevenson - Scotland
  8. While I may not have a bias toward any particular team, I do tend to root for guys who came through the Lehigh Valley. From my experience, the strength of the youth system in the region is spread throughout mostly public schools with just a handful of private schools. It's generally accessible to everyone. And the culture and history are rich, boosted by Lehigh University and their success in NCAA wrestling. This is a pocket of land with 131 mile circumference and a population of just over 861,000. As a percentage of the US population it makes up 0.26%. As a percentage of division 1 wrestlers, the region supplies 2.04% of the overall pool. This translates into this region below having a 7.95 times greater conversion rate from resident to division one wrestler. 11. It's slim pickings - maybe Leon Rattigan - or eventually my own daughter
  12. Pennsylvania: Cary Kolat Ohio: David Taylor Delaware: Sheldon Thomas Massachusetts: Kenny Mallory California: Dave Schultz
  13. you're not a big fan of Treasure Island? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
  14. Just saw the Pinto vs Truax match. Got to love the PA guy kicking the ass of his homestate. Pinto is too powerful for Truax.
  15. I'm finally getting around to seeing the 141 match. The Penn State referee bias is now at an elite level. It makes me as a fan root against them as much as possible. Hardy won the match
  16. I just want to circle back to this comment to give a more thorough explanation. The loss to Forrest counts against him for sure, but more than that- is the lack of matches against D1 starters (which seems to have been by design to preserve his redshirt). But it just means he has had fewer opportunities to face top rated d1 starters than many of his untethered peers
  17. If Burwick is in a position to graduate early, maybe he would be a good replacement as coach for the Badgers
  18. At one point, Cal Baptist had both Mesenbrink and MJ Gaitan committed. Gaitan flipped before joining, Mesenbrink jumped levels after committing and reassessed his future accordingly.
  19. Antrell Taylor is also a 157 lber wrestling up a weight class. He's a beast. I'm happy the were able to figure out the lineup where Robb, Taylor, and Bubba are all able to start. There was a thought of Pinto being at 174 at one point, but maybe that bridge has passed.
  20. Should be an awesome dual.
