  1. This went over my head. What does it mean? Is it that they didn't have very different opinions after all?
  2. @ILLINIWrestlingBlog 2025 should look something like this? 125: Joey Ruzic 3x Illinois 1A state champ 133: Lucas Byrd 141: Danny Pucino 149: Kannon Webster 157: Joe Roberts 165: Dan Braunagel 174: Edmond Ruth 184: Dylan Connell 197: Zach Braunagel 285: Luke Luffman
  3. 125: Nico Provo 133: Dylan Shawver 141: Jordan Titus 149: Michael Cetta 157: Michael Blockhus 165: Caleb Fish 174: Gaven Sax 184: Sam Wolf 197: Zach Glazier 285: Yonger Bastida
  4. Ruth and Welsh will be another good smashfest. Handfighting for seven minutes
  5. In elementary school, Sammy Sasso was JV to Jarred Papcsy
  6. Here is my theory as of now, especially since he also did it last year. Brands disagrees with the rule, and believes he has a chance to make the committee look like fools for imposing it. Eventually, Brands would like to be able to take advantage of mixing and matching and mixing signals on who is going where - because as a top five program they typically have the depth where they do have some decisions to make. Maybe I've given him too much credit. But if Teske upsets Bouzakis right off the scale, Brands can bank on having Tom Ryan and the boys from Columbus on his side for changing the rule
  7. I'm starting to get curious then - surely Brands knew this. It would seem counter-productive to do something like this intentionally. So then why.
  8. must have something to do with match count or another factor I haven't considered
  9. Michael Spangler out and Blaine Frazier in for Indiana? Spangler must be hurt or something because he seemed to be clearly better than Frazier
  10. The way they listed it made it seem like Teske would be seeded last for some reason - any color on that?
  11. Good explanation. I suppose that in an ideal world you could ask each seed - starting with the first - whether they want the bye- and then go down the list. But it would be a logistical nightmare and so the rotating seeds seems like a far more practical solution. Thanks for clearing it up
  12. Yep thats what it looks like to me brother
  13. It's very inconsistent which seeds are getting a bye. How is that decided? For example - Daton Fix - number one overall seed - doesn't have a first round bye, but 8th seeded Garret Ricks does...

  15. I had no clue they were releasing pre-seeds in 30 minutes. How exciting
  16. well last time all the of the money got lost in the Silicon Valley Bank failure, but we still had a good time, so I wouldn't worry about it.
  17. I'd get involved in some big ten action. The setup would be as complicated as we make it I would think.
  18. Same for me. I think I'll be on a plane - so as long as they have wi-fi like they're supposed to
  19. So Chittum hasn't actually used a redshirt yet and Gaitan could move down to 165. Echemendia used his red shirt previously and also used the free year, but this was otherwise his first year of eligibility used. I'm gonna place the year of eligibility after the name for clarity. 2024: 141: Echemendia1 149: Swiderski2 157: Chittum1 2025: 141: Echemendia2 149: Johnson3 / Swiderski RS 157: Chittum2 2026: 141: Echemendia3 149: Swiderski3 157: Johnson4 / ChittumRS 2027 141: Echemendia4 149: Swiderski4 157: Chittum3
  20. In order to make room for Echemendia, Swiderski, and Johnson, he has to
