  1. I thought Burley or Caruso, but neither would prompt folks to throw things at poor Gimp
  2. He probably had enough wrestling. Moved onto bowling or badminton
  3. Is Robert Allman one? I had to search quite painstakingly to find that
  4. It's a pretty tough top ten to be honest. 197 has to b e one of the strongest weight classes this year (for a change) 197lbs RANK WRESTLER SCHOOL CLASS CONFERENCE RECORD LAST 1 Aaron Brooks Penn State Senior Big Ten 14-0 1 2 Trent Hidlay NC State Senior ACC 22-0 2 3 Michael Beard Lehigh Junior EIWA 22-1 3 4 Jaxon Smith Maryland Sophomore Big Ten 15-3 4 5 Tanner Sloan South Dakota State Senior Big 12 19-1 5 6 Stephen Buchanan Oklahoma Senior Big 12 22-1 6 7 Louie DePrez Binghamton Senior EIWA 19-1 9 8 Jacob Cardenas Cornell Senior EIWA 19-5 7 9 Stephen Little Little Rock Freshman Pac-12 19-2 8 10 Rocky Elam Missouri Junior Big 12 9-2 10 11 Zach Glazier Iowa Junior Big Ten 21-1 11 12 Luke Stout Princeton Junior EIWA 18-6 12 13 Silas Allred Nebraska Sophomore Big Ten 20-5 13 14 Evan Bockman Utah Valley Senior Big 12 16-5 14 15 Mac Stout Pittsburgh Freshman ACC 17-5 15 16 Luke Surber Oklahoma State Junior Big 12 12-4 16 17 Nick Stemmet Stanford Junior Pac-12 24-7 17 18 Levi Hopkins Campbell Junior SoCon 24-6 18 19 Joey Novak Wyoming Freshman Big 12 18-10 19 20 Garrett Joles Minnesota Senior Big Ten 18-6 20 21 Luke Geog Ohio State Freshman Big Ten 12-6 21 22 John Poznanski Rutgers Sophomore Big Ten 12-2 22 23 Max Shaw North Carolina Junior ACC 16-4 23 24 Wyatt Voelker Northern Iowa Freshman Big 12 14-4 24 25 Cole Urbas Pennsylvania Senior EIWA 13-8 25 26 Justin Rademacher Oregon State Freshman Pac-12 16-8 28 27 Andy Smith Virginia Tech Junior ACC 15-7 26 28 Jack Wehmeyer Columbia Sophomore EIWA 17-9 27 29 Sam Mitchell Buffalo Junior MAC 19-5 29 30 Kael Wisler Michigan State Freshman Big Ten 23-12 30 31 John Crawford Franklin & Marshall Senior EIWA 20-9 31 32 Ben Smith Cleveland State Senior MAC 18-5 32 33 Gabe Sollars Indiana Sophomore Big Ten 20-12 33

  6. It's the unfortunate part of going to a small program with a weak schedule
  7. Thanks for sharing. God I feel so bad for the kid who missed weight at 106. That will be a lesson he never forgets for as long as he lives. It sucks to learn the hard way.
  8. 1 allocation at 125 for SoCon means one of Brayden Palmer or Anthony Molton will likely be fighting for an at large (probably Palmer)
  9. From what I can tell those incidents were in the past and the arrest was for not properly contacting his probation officer in time
  10. The term "true" implies he is no greater nor worse than the placing he earned. If he is at least third, that's not the same as true third (IMHO)
  11. In the past, Amine has not reacted much to Hamiti's fakes and movements. Often times, Hamiti can use the reaction to his fakes and arm movements to propel the next sequence of offense for him. Amine doesn't bite and then Hamiti has been stifled. I hope he can figure it out - but with Bono and the boys helping him out, I'm not sure how confident I would be
  12. My fear is that Hamiti faces Amine in the semis and loses (because he can never beat him) and then we get cheated out of the matchup at nationals too. Both Hamiti and Mesenbrink have non-stop pace, but very different offensive skillsets so I just want to see the constant attacks.
  13. As an aside - I just have to say that I will be absolutely furious if we don't get to see Mesenbrink vs Hamiti at some point this year
  14. I thought you were going to tell us about a high school phenom that was going to be the next Mesenbrink. I already got up in arms to say "there will never be another Mesenbrink!"
  15. WIN finally ranked Stanich for the first time and they have him 20th
  16. If it was guaranteed to be a matchup between the two of them, I like Ramos' chances, but I also think Ramos has a better chance of losing to the lower level of guys than Ayala does - and in a weight that is so close - he may not make it far enough to face Ayala. Matchups will be absolutely crucial though
  17. No more duals or random tournaments. Conferences and then Nationals. I feel sad already knowing how much I'm going to miss folkstyle for the summer.
  18. I feel a little impacted by watching Ramos get fourth at CKLV. He didn't seem to have enough separation over the pack. Whereas Ayala has one excellent skill that although its intangible, he has proven to possess it: he's clutch and timely
  19. I am also coming around on the idea of Ayala being a nose ahead of the pack right now.
  20. Thanks for another season of dedication to @SetonHallPirate for his weekly consistency of posting the matches for the week ahead. Another shout out to Intermat's Earl Smith, who would typically put together the weekly viewing guide that would be sloppily posted by myself or MPhillips.
