  1. It happens. Oh... it really happens.
  2. Was 'almost' ready for what you had up your sleeve here, but turned out to be nothing? Not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed.
  3. Last thought of the night - remember that this NDSU team recently beat Nebraska... Bonus points lead to North Dakota State upset of #8 Nebraska in thriller in Lincoln (teamusa.org) The NDSU (and SDSU) squads are no longer your grandmother's teams. Watch out for them.
  4. No more so than his opponent. This was supposed to be a cupcake match for PD3. Given the insane odds - if ever the fix was in... yes, right here.
  5. Franek edges out Lee in a weird one in OT's. Eh, throwaway match - seems all were looking to call it a night. I'm with them.
  6. NDSU Franek up 1-0 to start the 3rd period, Lee escapes to tie it 1-1 with 1:30 left in the 3rd
  7. Filling the earlier gap... McKee wins relatively easily at 125, overpowering Negrete, a California kid who looks an awful lot like the kid from "Win Win" (a movie I highly recommend.) Bonus: Negrete a hard elbow attempt that missed the mark. As an announcer followed up with "this isn't figure skating." At 133, Nagao wrestled a controlled 4-2 match. No fireworks to speak of. No elbows either. At 141 Jake Bergeland vs DD. FC had it right, Jake he shook off some rust and looked much better against a tough opponent. (I believe there was riding time ) At 149 Blockhus wins a 2-1 match. Not as exciting as I had anticipated, but with the dual in hand it isn't a big surprise either. Last match - this is it - #4 Brayton Lee vs #7 Jared Franek
  8. Yes! MN's Jake Bergeland vs NDSU's & Osseo/Champlin's very own Dylan Droegemueller.
  9. Good news is that Joles didn't fade. Wrestled strong to the end. Mora was bigger, but as FC said, not a very big Hwt. With RT point, I 'think' the final was Joles 6-2. The dual gets interesting NOW... after the break, last (5) matches from 125-157, should be good ones. If you haven't jointed the stream, it's not too late. As mentioned it's at gobison.com, $7 for the match (technically 24-hour pass) I'd be the last half will be more than worth it.
  10. Squeaker. Pentz pulls out the win just when Foy looked to have taken control. Joles up at Hwt again. Another interesting matchup with potential - especially as we get deeper into the later periods.
  11. gobison.com stream is smooth... announcers aren't too bad either. $7 well spent IMO. This Pentz vs Foy match has serious potential.
  12. Not a small thing... It is reassuring that even the very best of us make mistakes.
  13. No doubt, everybody needs a good man named Shirely.
  14. Well you no hockey always a coupla guys who fight reel hard but dont score sum guys work hard always tryin a score but these guys and I meen these guys they can deke an fight reel hard they get at er not like some slack score queens who get the dainties
  15. Very little about fighting has much to do with dignity. As my dad always said - fighting is for cats, dogs, and a**holes. He was right, but I tried it anyway. You're talking about a gray area... guys who are aren't good vs guys who are less good. That's hardly worth trying to sort out. At the end of the day, same thing for all of them. They help better guys move forward as they get beat. Sometimes strategically, sometimes for stats. We mostly like winners. Nobody cares much about the losers. Zero glory there. But there are a lot more of the latter than the former.
