  1. new rule: every post involving darkhorse must start by defining criteria for nominating and excluding darkhorses from the conversation. Anything less and we are all talking to walls, which incidentally is drastically less entertaining than talking to our laptop screeens
  2. I would suggest Nebraska and Michigan but it’s super unlikely to happen for either.
  3. If Davison and DeAug could take 2nd and Ragusin become a champ then Michigan tightens the race some. PSU just has way more championship locks than the others. In fact, it’s probably more likely Penn State gets 2 champions than ANY of Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska and Nc State put together getting two.
  4. I was too. Then I ran an analysis of Ayala against McKee, Noto, DeAug, Barnett, Kaylor, Camacho, Stanich and Smith and found he’s 5-9 against them. Taking away his 2-4 versus McKee he’s still only 3-5 against em. Ramos is 7–3, McKee 14-12, DeAug 8-7, and Barnett 11-13. Noto, Camacho and Stanich may be at an advantage by not having been seen before, to some degree. Ramos, Barnett, Camacho and Smith impress with winning records against 4,4,3, and 3 of the above individuals. Ayala and Kaylor struggle with winning records against just 1 guy each. Kaylor over Ayala and Ayala over Smith.
  5. Right, seems like an early upset threat against a guy lacking in strength and or height. Does Caleb Smith fit the bill? If DeAug and Palmer wrestled would DeAug even have to take a shot to win the match ?
  6. What are the chances a guy like Brayden Palmer could shake up 125? Who are some guys he would prove problematic for to face ?I haven’t seen him wrestle a ton but he has these strengths and weaknesses : S: huge 125 pounder cutting from 141 4 years back lengthy and can turn the corner when guys get too deep on shots, good defense history of beating really good 133 pounders including at nationals good rider, rode Blaze like 3 minutes straight W: slow reaction and lets guys pick his ankles and hit the single with ease seems inoffensive (and I don’t mean anti-AJ anti-deuce birds in the splits) weak-ish regular season resume
  7. I can see what happens if I adjust recent performance 5% higher and strength of schedule and peak wins 3% and 2% lower each.
  8. The Big10 and Big12 tourneys are gonna majorly influence AA likelihood. I don’t like anyone who gets a 12 or higher seed to win it all. Too many landmines out there…people act like there aren’t good wrestlers out there just because nobody has stayed undefeated-steady all year. If McKee has to wrestle Ayala, Barnett and Ramos to get to the finals that’s going to be a rougher path than Ramos gets. Ramos has looked great and people underestimate his strength of schedule.
  9. McKee and Kaylor opponents- McKee might have 9 losses if he wrestled Kaylor's schedule. Kaylor's star is brightening. Ramos, Smith, Ayala, and Spratley and maybe Volk have harder schedules than Kaylor. They ahve 15 losses combined and guess what, they're better than your boys Barnett and McKee based on this season's body of work. I don't doubt McKee and Barnett make it competitive at Big 10s and Nationals but this represents their body of work. Feel free to tell me how much better than Kaylor McKee is, though, I'm all ears. McKee Kaylor Ramos L Ayala L Ayala W Ayala L Spratley W Smith W Smith L Davis L Barnett W Jordan L Jordan W Volk W Provo W Ungar L Peterson L Strickenberger L Moore L Mendez W Mendez W Reno L
  10. Flynn moves from 6 to 9, DeAug back into top 8, Camacho surges past Noto from 18 to 13 into the very crowded 7 to 16 ranked pack. Spratley v Ayala could shake up the top 5. 1 Ramos 387 2 Ayala 385 3 Spratley 357 4 Stanich 345 5 Smith 330 6 Kaylor 298 7 Surtin 270 8 DeAug 267 9 Flynn 266 10 Davis 265 11 Poulin 260 12 Jordan 253 13 Camacho 245 14 Noto 242 15 Volk 240 16 (tie) Barnett / Provo 232 18 McKee 206
  11. I gotta try to catch this dual. I had a feeling Camacho was back to form. New rankings at 125 upcoming. !
  12. I haven't watched enough wrestling this year...however, Spratley looks hard to take down and that's Ayala's bread n butter. So whoever has the better rideouts is likely going to win. I highly doubt there will be a major decision
  13. typo for me haha . . . is the therefore symbol in math proofs
  14. I recall thinking “how on earth did critics give this film a W” five minutes in and then I was blown away. It’s arguably better than the Rocky films.
  15. With everyone loving The Holdovers and Giamatti up for best actor , it’s time for everyone to promote Win Win to their neighbors for the next month of Academy chatter and get wrestling some extra attention !
  16. 197 is stacked in the top 4 spots. Beard and Sloan (in spite of their losses) have built up tremendous resumes- Beard's is one of bonus and Sloan's is one of wrestling the whole top 25 dominantly.
  17. They should bust up the national tourney bracket also if they stay so low. Lewan is criminally low given his affinity for Sudden victory advancements.

  20. New top 10 1 Ramos 2 Ayala 3 Spratley 4 Stanich 5 Smith 6 Flynn 7 Kaylor 8 Surtin 9 DeAugustino 10 Davis
  21. Flynn has defeated Surtin, Provo, Ungar, Sotelo, Moore and lost to Barnett by 1 and Stanich by 2 Barnett has defeated Flynn, Smith, McCrone, Hendricsen and lost to Terukina, Stanich, Ramos and McKee. It's not apples to apples but I'll take Flynn's resume.
