  1. Certainly very impressive stats for Wilson, but picking him over Jones and Gentry seems to be a reach. Scott Moore "would have won it" but lost in D1 semis, as previously stated. Wilson did not wrestle in the D1 tourney!
  2. Exactly. What about Marcus Levasseur, wasn't he an undefeated D3 champ? How about the D3 kid currently on a 56 match win streak with 24 pins and techs and 100-0 takedown margin? Plenty of outstanding guys in lower divisions, but the Hodge should be an award for those who test themselves against the best, day in and day out. (Joe Dudek didn't win the Heisman, despite a famous SI article)
  3. https://nwhof.org/brackets/74 Here are a bunch. I don't have their records for the season handy, but they put it on the line more often than the NAIA guy. That counts for something.
  4. If he has half a schedule, he will likely still have more bonus points than almost anyone else.
  5. Any one of the ten champs who wrestled a D1 schedule that year. Can you list two champs who Wilson had a tougher schedule than?
  6. Motivator? An Olympic hopeful needs motivation? That is a scary thought. Although now that you mention it, he has admitted to some mental and spiritual lapses in the past. Thankfully, David Carr was there. I 100% guarantee that Carr found AB and they prayed on the loss. Hopefully he is back on the winning path.
  7. I feel that PSU is still a huge favorite in every dual and will be a huge favorite in March. I believe Aaron Brooks is a fine young man. He is a great collegiate wrestler. He will likely be the #1 seed at NCAA and probably win without too many issues. He may represent the US in a future Olympics, and I will be rooting for him by that point. That all being said: Brooks was flat. And the PSU fans on this board have gone mostly silent since.
  8. If only Brooks and Munoz had each other on their schedules, we would know how they matched up!
  9. That is not great for CMU. While this current crew of PSU studs is definitely outstanding, they are not known as pinners. They really are not even the prolific bonus point machines that the Lions produced in the past.
  10. Brooks definitely seems like a wonderful young man. But he was stuck.
  11. And what was wrong with Carter? Just didn't look like himself.
