  1. What is Iowa State up to for next year? Echemendia said he was going up and he didn't know how many weight classes. They have a serious logjam in the 149/157 area, then. 125 - Terukina 133 - Frost 141 - Frost 149 - Swiderski/Johnson/Echemendia 157 - Chittum 165 - 174 - Gaitan 184 - Broderson 197 - 285 - Bastida Does Chittum go up? Does Johnson go 165? Echemendia 157? Chittum redshirt? Swiderski redshirt? Swiderski to 165? I would have to think they are in the running for a transfer (or two) as well in the 165-197 range.
  2. Teemer deserves a medical for last year as much as anyone does. Also hoping Loew for Cornell gets one as well.
  3. In any case, you gents only had three starters by years end. I was referring to the Squawkeyes.
  4. Not sure. One team with four of them brought home (another) trophy. The other did not. I am happy if mine is the one that did and unhappy if mine is the one that didn't.
  5. A lot of those recruits are directly because of Koll (his recruits). I was pleasantly surprised when a lot of them didn't open back up after he left for UNC. I am pretty sure there was some sort of promise of 9.9 schollies to Koll and that was a reason he was staying rather than head to Oklahoma (he was their first choice). After he left they dropped it back down to whatever it was.
  6. For NC State, I am hoping Trumble goes HWT. It is clear his aptitude for Freestyle is high and his weight is 97 KG (213lbs). I don't want him emaciated for it with his 18' wingspan and 12' frame. I would rather he weight 230lbs and make the drop/cut to 213lbs when it is needed. That kind of leaves Trephan high and dry, but the end game isn't NCAA success for Trumble, and it shouldn't be.
  7. Hearing from a 3rd and 4th party that a certain school didn't not actually make a pitch to the Cornell trio. The response Fernandes made was "Nah I'm done." but the other two were pretty receptive. I.e. Cardenas to ASU might not be a done deal.
  8. No, I hope you're right. USA Wrestling is better when Penn State, Iowa, and Oklahoma State is better.
  9. I also thought this. I do believe he went 70 KG for MFS for a tournament or two though, didn't he?
  10. I was just asking a question from the part in BOLD is all.
  11. The whispers say Central Michigan.
  12. You hire Max and have Ben cut the ribbon for him, kiss some nuns, punch some babies, etc. All will be well.
  13. He is a turdbiscuit, so sure. Let him go.
  14. My wish for Mendez at 149 is based purely on me wanting him to be a full-sized 65 KG.
  15. I actually thought I heard Byrd was going up, too. It was rather surprising because, like Cannon, I never considered him big. I even thought 125lbs might be a better move.
  16. The good news is that he lost a bunch of weight (mass, 149?). The bad news is that one of his legs is basically useless still.
  17. I have one for you... Do you think some of his AWA folks would consider heading their for the Grad season were he to go? I am speaking specifically PK and KOT.
  18. Hear me out: 125 - Kilkeary 133 - Bouzakis 141 - Davino 149 - Mendez 157 - D'Emilio/Wilcox 165 - Gallagher/Hepner 174 - Welsh/Kharchla 184 - Welsh/Kharchla 197 - Geog/Shumate 285 - Feldman Rogotzke to RS unless someone gets hurt.
  19. What about Amos as well? There were rumblings last year. He apparently didn't appreciate the Burwikk situation.
  20. They weren't a trophy contender this year either... until they were.
  21. Also, it appears he unblocked me. Not sure when that happened. I probably have Brain to thank(?) for that. The ole "That old geezer is harmless" defense.
  22. In other news, I am hoping that it is a package deal to include Amos as well. I think Amos at HWT would be a good thing. I would prefer Ghadiali, but Amos would be solid as well.
