  1. Micic is going 61 KG, so he won't be seeded. Finesilver has dropped to 86 KG so that moves Valencia up to #6 (which is opposite the Irani) and forfeits any placement points he does have meaning he will be drawn in.

  7. Dylan will be at 149 for them this season, I think. I also would not be surprised to see Gilcher transfer in for his senior season.
  8. I have been clamoring for Gilcher to go 165...

    UNC

It doesn't matter if it says much to or for me. Plausible deniability for UNC goes a long way.

    UNC

While we don't know what was said behind closed doors, we do know that publicly UNC never wavered from him being the interim while they actively search.
  11. It shouldn't be a surprise. He is an alum. The three schools that should have never been a surprise at his being hired for: - North Carolina, He is a national champ alum from here - Cornell, He was there straight out of college as an assistant and was the HC after seven years there - Penn State, His dad is a legendary coach from there Obviously him going BACK to Cornell would be a shocker due to drama. Obviously him going to Penn State would be a shocker right now. If Cael were to depart for... say UVU... then Koll being #1 target there would be a no-brainer. Or at least on the short list of #1 targets.

  14. Deakin made large 165lbers look small. Bad example.
  15. Those rumblings have been going on for like three years. From me.
  16. Has (had) a connection with Deakin there...

    UNC

    Stanford job just opened up.
  18. When I say prominent ACs I don't mean current Stanford. I mean like a Terry Brands or a Casey Cunningham or a David Bolyard take the job?
  19. Who, if anybody, from Stanford follows Koll to UNC this season? Is it too late to do so? Can they transfer after school has already started? Who transfers OUT of UNC? Who is the next guy up at Stanford? Do they bring Borelli back? Does he even want to go back? Do one of the more prominent ACs make that next step? Would someone young like Vincenzo or Deakin surthrive there?

    UNC

I mean... it isn't my school. All I am saying is that Smith has still been considerably more successful the last eight years still even with the damn Focus drama clouding the program. Also, I am sure we can agree that Koll is a homerun hire.

    UNC

I don't understand this claimed 'downard trajectory' that is stated basically everywhere by a lot of people. In the same time that Scott was at UNC (which, to be clear - I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF!), Scott went a total of 75W - 49L to finish with a 60.4% winning percentage (winning). He went 23W - 17L to fellow ACC schools, which is a 57.5% (winning) winning percentage. In that same time Smith has gone 105W - 16L to finish with a 86.8% winning percentage (also winning). To take that further, he went 13W - 1L against ACC schools (including 2W - 0L against North Carolina proper) for an even better 92.9% winning percentage. There have been 'bad' things about the program, but the results are still considerably positive. He had what I would consider is ONE down year in the 13W - 4L campaign that was directly after the Focus drama. This last year they still went 14W - 3L on the season. I don't see anybody calling for Brian Smith's head at Mizzou. He has less wins and more losses than John Smith at Oklahoma State in that same time span and that is with having SIX of those seasons being in the MAC (90W - 17L for those who are curious... 84.1% winning percentage). The trajectory is up. Had this focus crap happened to any other program, save for Penn State and Iowa, it might have been much much worse.
