That's as may be, but obviously even if it was true it wasn't and is irrelevant at this point to anybody who cares for OSU Wrestling.
-
You can too. You're still ignoring the implied 'elsewhere' there. Your statement 'You can't claim home over money elsewhere when home was more money.' is inaccurate. The last part of that statements doesn't matter to the intended/implied point.
-
Because another guy entered the fold that wasn't apparent before. He is allowed to be excited for Nini then also be excited if a guy who is projected to 'be better' enters the fold. He can be excited for either or both.
-
He could have also rejected any amount of money elsewhere and still have it be true that he chose to stay home over money elsewhere.
-
Ah, I understand what you meant by dry up. You didn't mean that NLWC would be out of money, just that he wouldn't be getting money from it, presumably. My apologies for the shortsightedness. You're not reading it well or maybe I didn't say it well. He never said the latter. He chose 'home for loyalty of money elsewhere' in that elsewhere was the key omitted word. The amount of money he got for staying home is entirely irrelevant. It could be $5 or $5 million. Home over money elsewhere.

You don't understand how endowments work nor do you understand why as long as there is one at Penn State for wrestling they will continue to own whoever they want with NIL.
-
I don't know why it repeatedly needs to be said, but the context there was that he turned down an offer (or three) that would have paid him handsomely to go elsewhere to stay home and still be the highest paid college wrestler next year. Both can be true.

There are semantics that can be used for it... Manning whinges... it's like he pisses and moans just to piss and moan sometimes. Bono is a turdbiscuit meathead. Schwab is a champion for the people (and his athletes) - always. The Brands Bros get heated, pissed off, and breath fire. They often don't stop breathing fire until a day or two later. Different levels there. Those levels are also driven by their off-mat personas and antics because, and lets be honest, most people haven't actually watched Manning or Bono or Schwab in a dual setting. You are 100% spot on with a resounding reason being that it is because it's Iowa.

I have kind of not since I found these BBS a decade or so ago. I was more mellow in my earlier years.
-
A driving factor for that might be that both of the Brands Bros are closer to 60 than 50, whereas Gilman hasn't even hit 30 yet. You expect a young spitfire who becomes a coach to have his moments... you don't expect two older, aging spitfires to still be that way after years and years of criticisms for being that way.

Oh?! Is he on the Bradley route? Looking to make a team for the next two (2) cycles?

Here is what is wild to me: Koll had a bomb-ass recruiting class lined up at Cornell before his exit. Koll had a bomb-ass recruiting class lined up at Stanford before his exit. With how it has shaken out after both exits, it almost appears that he didn't even contact any of them afterwards... or at the very least if they attempted to contact him, he left them on 'read' or didn't answer... something... legalities aside communication between Koll and his recruits didn't happen. That either says more about Koll leaving in that maybe he wasn't all that he was cracked up to be in the eyes of the recruits or that he truly wanted to ensure that the institution he was leaving was set up for success. You don't typically see a well known head coach leave and not see a large exodus of student-athletes follow them.

Virginia Tech 125 - Ventresca 133 - McGonagle 141 - Latona 149 - Henson 157 - Hipolito 165 - Amine 174 - Wolak 184 - Stewart 197 - Sasso/Smith 285 - Catka/Mullen That could be ten AAs... in fact everyone is either ranked to finish Bloodround or higher, not including Redshirt Frosh Hipolito who nearly won the 165lb spot last year as an undersized True Frosh (probably should have, actually).
-
Curious why the 'last' coach hasn't been announced yet...? Is it someone who is currently on Team USA and is waiting for the Olympics to be over? Edit: Or perhaps someone training with someone? Lee, Retherford, Dake, Brooks, Varner?

Rylan Rogers to Lehigh!

What's stopping ND from bringing back wrestling?

What. The. ***duck**. -
Mesenbrink weighed in at 161 per Benji at OTT, so I think that makes perfect sense.
-
Not to play devil's advocate or anything on the 174lb matchup, but Facundo is something like 8-0 on Hamiti, albeit all results are in MFS. The only 157lber that is smashing Parco is Mesenbrink. Haines isn't going 157 and Kasak and SVN would have competitive matches with him. He would outright beat Sealey. Alirez beats Kasak at 149 and the match with SVN is absolutely a match. Not sure SVN would chase him down. You're disrespecting Alirez here. Cannon has already beaten Nagao. Nagao seems to have regressed since Minny, so not sure why you think he easily wins there? Spratley is absolutely in that match with Lilledahl. It isn't a blowout by any means. Bartlett is the Lewan of 141lbs... he is winning that match 3-1 or 4-1... most likely in OT. Pindrickson under the tutelage of DT and with a healthy knee makes that a match. Especially if DT gets Gwiazdowski on staff... the guy who just exposed Kerk at OTT (Bradley doesn't win that match if he doesn't see how Gwiazdowski exposed he can't chain wrestle). Starocci destroys at whatever weight. Plott-Barr is a match. Fish is going to make a leap with the new training envorinment. I still think Monster Mes makes minced meat of my man Fish there, though. I was deliberately all over to be deliberately all over.

Not J'den Cox.
-
The guy who weighed all of 161lbs at OTT is going to suddenly grow to 174lbs for next season? Nah.

Not really what you're saying as it is an entirely different Notre Dame, but Notre Dame is a badass D2 college out of Ohio as well... -
Tied for third, at that. Or at least on the same tier as Pitt's Gavin and maybe even UVA's Garland. Before he went to OSU there isn't a single unbiased soul that would put him on the same tier as Pat Pop or Robie. Now he is suddenly on the same tier as Smith? GTFOH right? Give him a year or two with his own recruits. Add in the Portal and they will be contending with 5-0 to 3-2 in duals (depending on the year) rather than 3-2 to 1-4 which was the standard for Scott at UNC. Edit: Also, quit ignoring the fact that he started after students even reported and had to use the team that was left to him by Scott... so again... 3-2 was high end for Scott.
-
Don't be cheeky. You know that dual is badass.

I am rooting for all hell to break loose. I hope Amine decks him.
