Kittatinny is still competing every year for group titles ,Valenti high school coach Gill is still there in his 40 or 50 something year but they don’t have the top level talent they used too, maybe they have a placer every other year or so, no state champs since Valenti brother in 08 and he’s also the last D1 AA from Kitt , He AAed for Virginia in 11 or 12

Philly has gotten substantially worse since 2011 and the surrounding areas have been hit with a crime wave since 2020 and it keeps pushing out further out ,me and the mrs used to go to Philly every fall for years until 2021 then it wasn’t worth it . I plan on going to ncaas next year but intend on staying NJ and just driving to the arena everyday , and I say that as someone who grew up and worked in shitty areas my whole life and has a CC permit in PA. The ncaa being so close for the first time since 2016 is literally the only thing that could get me to go to Philly nowadays

Ivys offer pretty much full financial aid to anyone whose family falls below a certain income threshold .. if your family makes less than 85,000 a yr then Harvard aid covers everything Cornell is 60,000 and under Princeton is 100,000 - 63 percent of the student body apparently falls into this category

He wrestled for Brick High school, he was the first head coach ever of Brick Memorial hs…From what I can find BM has had a lot of Juco and D3 AAs but only 2 D1 AAs Scott Kirsch for George Mason in 1989 and Steve Santos in 2013.

No doubt Brick Memorial has been good for the past 30-40 years but outside of Santos taking 3rd for Columbia I can’t think of another D1 guy from there , and depending of Szuba eligibility they could have as many as 5 guys wrestling D1 at one time in 2 seasons , pretty crazy nowadays for a public school regardless of history

Definitely would save on travel expenses , the 3 of them were all state champs all in a row back in 2021.. Szuba the top 20 heavyweight for rider and a top 10 recruit in Lundington going to ASU in 2 seasons also from the same high school , not bad for a public school

He was ranked like 3-4 range at 215 most of his junior behind one of the Accardi and Scott Delveccio brother then bumped up to heavy for the post season and was never challenged and never looked back. man I would’ve bet the farm ( Fernandes grew up on a farm with his brothers who are all bigger then him somehow lol) that he would’ve AAed , his first 2 seasons he was wrestling close matches with Kerkvilet, glad to hear he has his career and is set up nicely for life but man disappointing that he never AAed

Idk how long he hangs around wrestling before fighting but He’s a better wrestler at age 23 then JB and Taylor were at the same age , he’s had unreal success at every level of wrestling , has the best coaches and partners to train with in the world and the non stop obsessive desire to be the best that you need to be a world champ.. Granted it’s a lot harder to make a team now then in 2012 (JB had to beat Howe to make his first team) , Carter has to go through all timers like JB, Dake and Nolf just to get on the team but if anyone is mentally prepared to make that next jump it’s Starocci
