  1. ...which is far less direct than "no false prophets, no Muhammed no anyone else." Actually since you are the expert, can you explain what his quote even means? “Christ resurrections everything. Not just his life, but his death and resurrection. You can only get that though him, the Holy Spirit only through him, no false prophets, no Muhammad, no anyone else, only Jesus Christ himself.” First of all is “resurrections” even a verb? He resurrections resurrection? What does that even mean? He resurrections death? That seems like an oxymoron. You can only be resurrected by Jesus? Do people believe they will be resurrected instead of going to Heaven?
  2. Agree with this 100%. After first watch I thought maybe he was trying to indicate that Woods had gotten above 45, but after watching it a few times it looks like he was winding up then changed his mind.
  3. I'm not doubting that people of various religions have said some stuff over the last few hundred years. But no one was saying them to Brooks on Saturday night.
  4. What's the point? As others said, slim chance giving additional team points to the other guys would have resulted in Lee wrestling.
  5. LOL that you keep saying he's "responding" to something. I really don't care what people talk about at church or with their family or friends. But when you're on national TV, I think a little more decency is expected in terms of talking about other people's faiths. And honestly I don't really care all that much that Brooks said it. The bigger issue IMO is the NCAA tweeting it out (especially since they didn't even tweet out all the post-match interviews)
  6. Sorry just realized my post could have been misunderstood, yes I was referring to "the hand" as the color. Yes as you said there should be swipes when possible. But what do you mean by "the issue"? Yes Rivera did screw up the colors at first, but do you think that had an impact on him not counting to 4? I'd guess no.
  7. That doesn’t say the hand count needs to be of the color earning the NF
  8. I’m pretty sure this was a troll thread because a similar one was started in 2021 with PSU on the other end of a similar situation
  9. A lot of refs don’t necessarily swipe with the hand getting NF. But as you mentioned earlier, Angel did give Woods’ initial nearfall and Alirez’s reversal to the wrong colors and was holding the 2 NF for Alirez as red before switching to green to award it.
  10. This is a stretch. He wasn’t responding to anyone. Responding to a religion existing like you tried to claim earlier is not a thing. And no, there probably wouldn’t be a thread about this if all he said was “Jesus is the only lord and savior.”
  11. Lamont scored zero points. I guess it was officially a bad move for Wisconsin, unless the presence of Burwick would’ve somehow prevented a recruit going there that would be better than him.
  12. Yes, 45 degrees. 12:20 in the video I posted is a good angle with a bigger clock to compare. If I had to pick I’d say it was 4, but I’m not sure the requirement to reverse challenged calls…is it like the NFL where it’s supposed to be overwhelming evidence or whatever? If that’s the case I don’t think it was enough to overturn, and I presume deciding that was why it took so long. I initially thought Rivera’s hand movement towards the end was an attempt to signify he broke 45, but I’m not sure, as @fishbane alluded to, it probably looks more like he was winding up to swipe but changed his mind.
  13. Is Holy Smoke a false prophet? That was fast though
  14. If he doesn’t, does he go back down to 125?
  15. I like a lot of Chanel’s wrestling videos. This one did seem more drawn out than most. And honestly it wasn’t really a “take” on Spencer. It basically took him 11 minutes to say he thought MFF’s should be worth the same as pins + 30% for the other guy. I’m not sure if he even said they should count as losses for the guy MFF’ing
  16. Honestly in the past I wasn’t sure if the God stuff was being encouraged by PSU coaches or something, which of course would be frowned upon to say the least being a state university. This seems to indicate that’s not happening at least definitely not from Cael. Definitely some Penn Staters that seem to have no issue with his statement though. For example this one was a little cringey IMO:
  17. Gotcha. Well then I’d say all 3 would’ve had to win, with given Penn State’s history I would’ve probably been threatened by, but nothing wrong with having different definitions of “threatened”
  18. I just rewatched them all. Glory - no (great interview!) Vito - no (another great interview) Alirez - no (pretty good interview) Yianni - no, although he did kinda talk about Kyle Dake as if he was Jesus AOC - can’t find the immediate post match interview but didn’t thank God/Jesus in his 5+ minute press interview so I’ll probably call that a no O’Toole - same thing as AOC, I’ll call that a no as well but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong Starocci - no Brooks - yes Nino - yes (just a quick “glory to God” slipped in there) Parris - no So looks like he was one of only 2 champs to thank God/Jesus and obviously the reason for the thread was what Brooks said specifically
  19. It’s not 5? Four placement points and 1 advancement? Or do you only get the placement point for the last match?
  20. One of the dudes also seemed to think that he could get 3 NF, and questioned whether Alirez “lost control” at the end of the exchange…
  21. They would’ve beat it if RBY and one of Haines or Kerk won right? I guess you have a higher tolerance of being threatened than me.
  22. Does 137.5 count as “threatening” 146.5? Not too bad when you consider a returning champ got 7th and a 2x defending champ lost
  23. First of all he didn’t even say it “shouldn’t have” gotten 4. But he’s right: a main question is when did Alirez establish control and I’d agree it wasn’t really until he stepped over. Still looks like it was probably 4 after that (which Rock didn’t really argue against), but it was awfully close. 7:55 in this video is a good view IMO when Burroughs counts after Rock says he had control.
  24. Ok yeah you weren’t very clear before… I don’t think most people were saying Starocci was a “bad person,” just that he was arrogant. Although he had earned the right to be. But yeah, if you’re begging people to diss guys in general thanking God, I will say I prefer Starocci’s arrogance to the God/Jesus thanking. He’s the one that put in the work, not God.
