NCAA Winter Convention is going on this week... started today. Not sure what was approved and not approved - @Husker_Du tweeted awhile ago about this. Below are some articles about proposals and the transformation committee. I know one proposal was to eliminate maximum number of official visits for recruits. Some states offer scholarships and grants that are only for their in-state kids to go to their in-state schools. As a side note, does this only really pertain to the mid/upper level recruits and not the elite recruits? It seems the direction that things are going is that the NIL for elite athletes is in some ways replacing the traditional scholarship route. Donors who are giving large amounts to a program probably aren't going to be too concerned about dropping 10k for kid to get the rest of the tuition paid for. Obviously, another example of the more money and donors a program has, the more kids they can grab up.

Yep - it was a very competitive match with a few little coaching fireworks as well. Ok State won 3 matches by 1 point... If Crosby had 1 more second he would have gotten the nearfall at the buzzer. Great crowd and a great day of wrestling. As a side note... Kudos to Daton Fix... He was signing autographs and taking pictures with kids for about a half hour after the match. Good on him for doing that. There were also 4 exhibitions. Ok State won 3 and OSUw won 1 at Heavy.

Yep... It brings a smile to my face that PSU and Iowa fans consider Cael the GOAT and he is from the West.

He's had a very rough season in his personal life... his dad passing away being a big part of it. I t think he is finally settling in with wrestling right now. Great kid. The funny thing about the Plot match, was that he had been sick for awhile and had only practiced a few days before the Ok State dual. He's definitely a kid you want to root for.

Prediction or was it announced?

I did ... mat side.... did not appear injured...Olmos did not get "lucky" for a near deck or back points... good old fashion doubles. As for sick, who knows.

20-12 ok state - A great crowd and a Competitive dual today. Olmos upsets Plott 9-4. Wittlake returns to Oregon but falls to Munoz. Three one-point wins for ok state

If the season were condensed to 3 1/2 - 4 months, required a certain number of weigh-ins, and put limits or regulations on MFF losses.... we might be back to people wrestling on a wrestling scholarship.

Lamont had bigger problems with the ASU backup.

Seems there are several wrestlers that are on a limited schedule this year for a variety of reasons. And they want to grow the sport...
