  1. It might not be the best week to ask for pictures of wrestlers just sayin
  2. Brooks is already at senior world medal level. He is the only answer to this question and can only be revisited in April after OTT.
  3. I've heard Geno is at a rankings tourney with Zare many times. I'll believe it when I see it.
  4. Masoumi Parris yassssssss 125 looks like a great bracket
  5. In all fairness to Bono, losing the top heavyweight recruit to Minnesota shouldn't be held against him. 49 other states would have lost that recruiting battle also.
  6. Hold up what about the Ban Basketball movement? I'm behind the times... someone give me a jagerbomb!
  7. Everyone knows that only you know the answer to that question But in all seriousness, probably yes, correct? Natatoriums don't exactly grow on trees.
  8. Out of all the treasures in that reddit thread, and hoooo doggy there are some *fantastic* gems in there, this is the best one. I already know the answer is "because america, duh" but it's true nonetheless.
  9. Sans brackets, here is my terrible 57kg ranking of those already qualified + Suriano who is expected to qualify at Last Chance. Of these competitors I only expect Lee, Richards, and #s 8-12 to wrestle day 2 if they are sent to the backside. Spencer Lee Vito Arujau Zane Richards Thomas Gilman Daton Fix Nick Suriano Nico Megaludis Luke Lilledahl Marcus Blaze Liam Cronin Daniel DeShazer *NCAA champ
  10. I said it succinctly but @flyingcement only beat around the bush. If you're going to have a hot take you better put on the oven gloves and go fully chaotic neutral. I also still stand by my post back on page one: backside McKee is the only lock. Now watch him make the finals haha
  11. There are times the Iran/Russia "we pick the team" model works and there are times the US/Japan "may the best competitor win" model works. This is likely very good news for the rest of the world. Otoguro publically commented multiple times he had trouble staying motivated after his world title and I'm sure that is even more true after running the table in front of the home crowd during the Tokyo olympics. Throw in the shocking loss to Musukaev, who did win worlds in his defense, and you have to wonder if the fire is still there or if he is just so engrained that he was going through very high quality motions. 2025 will be an interesting season to say the least.
  12. 125 is fun to talk about but we all need to acknowledge that two things are true: 1) At this weight this year nothing means anything until the dust settles in March. 2) If they wrestled NCAAs ten times, we would see ten wildly different results. It's a crapshoot this year and nothing is off the table. Could see a freshman win it, could see a .500 finalist, could see Vito and Fix in the finals. Nothing should surprise anyone.
  13. I hope he does well. And honestly I don't even care if he's actually doing this for football reasons. His stock will improve as an NCAA qualifier, much less AA and could be the difference between UDFA and day 2 pick if he plays well next year. I'm all about our sport showing out.
  14. Ramos couldn't win a spot so he transferred to Purdue. Nagao li$tened to god and tran$ferred to PSU. Kerk recommitted from Minny when Gable committed. Wasn't the last time that would happen (OSU, tOSU, PSU). There's usually only one or two sure-fire champs per class. Even then they don't pan out - look at Fix as an example. It's tough to nab p4p #1 and the fact that Minny did it AND delivered should be celebrated, not met with a firing squad. And no one answered my question as to who would be a better replacement.
  15. I would love to know who he would be replaced with. Only three potentially realistic candidates would have a shot at meeting or exceeding Eggum as his successor: Hahn (not a given to even put his name in), Ramos, and Metcalf. And none of those is a given to meet his bar.
  16. Dude couldn't even handle a Durango going fast and now he thinks he can handle a real car? Must be why he is getting a drivers ed lesson on how to do zoomies in the parking lot.
  17. I don't understand the Eggum hate. He delivers multiple AAs on an annual basis, graduates his student-athletes, has a strong donor base, and his team keeps their names out of the beat report. And as previously mentioned, he kept an Olympic champ and Hodge winner at home.
  18. A quick google search reveals that Hylighter Photography only posts about two sports: male wrestling and male water polo. The below link is an actively updated page. I'm not drawing any conclusions, just pointing out some basic facts. https://hylighterphotography.smugmug.com/
  19. Seems like the best answer to me.
  20. Honestly, ESPN coverage of NCAAs has been top notch the past few years whether it be the primetime broadcasts of the evening sessions on multiple ESPN channels or using the ESPN app. Since I can't attend anymore unless I want to give up something else, setting up four smart TVs and a laptop for "work" has been awesome. It is honestly my favorite viewing experience each year.
  21. This is a good thing for our sport! NCAA, ESPN extend broadcast deal 8 more years (including wrestling) "The agreement includes all 24 sports covered in ESPN's previous agreement and adds coverage of the NCAA Division I tennis championships (men's and women's) and men's gymnastics, among others. It also extends international rights to the Division I men's basketball championship." "Men's championships included in the agreement include... wrestling."
  22. There was a national champ with no more eligibility that enjoyed a Bud Light last year after he won NCAAs and that picture circulated and certainly made the tabloid rounds. And to think those were the "good" days of wrestling papparazzi
