  1. Just watched the tape delay and was pleasantly surprised to see that we got the professional announcers; good stuff. But I must admit that the headlever vs. coffeegrinder schtick has gotten stale and they need to move on.
  2. I have this set to record tonight, but I am not expecting much. Pretty anticlimactic after the other recent duals (e.g. Iowa). I expect a lot of the second string, both from PSU and from the BTN announcing ranks. Watching it on tape delay will allow me to skip to the highlights only.
  3. The guys highlighted in this thread get all what the BIG10 network must consider their "A" matches, and do a great overall job. But then there is a terrible fall off when you get the "B" matches on BIG10+, and you get two students, at least one of whom must have never wrestled, but is faking it from some notes in front of him. They're the ones I turn the sound off for.
  4. The expression, "dumb as a rock" somehow comes to mind. He could be onto a whole series of endorsements here.
  5. Yeah, I was in attendance last night and even as a Pitt fan I have to say it was pretty much of a beatdown. Too bad, too, since it looked like a sell-out of the Fieldhouse, but they didn't have much to cheer about. Augustine won in OT by riding out on top for the first thirty seconds, then got his escape on bottom. Stout looked good in his match with an evenly ranked wrestler - was the aggressor for most of the match and survived some good scrambles. And I agree with @wrestle87 that Pitzer probably could/should have won his match. Although the OkieState heavy surprised me (and maybe Pitzer too) by hitting a roll midway through the match. The lightweights got torched. Some of the Pitt wrestlers gave up 3 or 4 ankle picks/low singles in one match. Lots of video to review there to get better. Sunday's home dual against Iowa State looks to be more of the same, except no one will be there because the Steelers's playoff game against the Bills is on TV at the same time.
  6. Thanks to the OP for posting this. Even though I watched Spencer Lee wrestle here in high school in the WPIAL, and thought I knew his story, but there were definitely some details in this interview that were new to me. Plus, he comes across as an intelligent guy who knows what he is about. Great interview. I'm always impressed by people who can totally dedicate themselves to something, it doesn't have to be wrestling, it could be music or something else, but that drive to continually put the work in in practice and training is remarkable.
  7. It is not on the regular (Comcast cable) ACCN tonight. Although Sunday's Pitt dual vs Iowa State is on ESPN+
  8. Or help his therapist make a lot of boat payments.
  9. He might have been talking about the betting everyone was doing on the out-of-season hunting that was taking place. Just sayin'.
  10. Agreed. Lucky for them he was not wearing a black Iowa singlet.
  11. They're following the men's semis on BTN+ with the women's freestyle tournament, aka Matches Between Universities You Could Not Find On A Map. But entertaining nonetheless.
  12. 133 #4 seed Jayce Paridon of Lake Highland Prep, FL goes down 4-5 to unseeded Camden Baum of Bishop McDevitt
  13. Upset list start: 127 #2 seed Matthew Marlowe of Northport, NY goes down 3-4 to unseeded Nathan Wood of Point Pleasant, WVa
  14. Live brackets are available on FloArena
  15. 2 for Lee... and 2 more... half a minute into the second period now 6-2... That's your final.
  16. Thanks. I want to make sure that I don't miss the 57 finals, aka "The Battle of Franklin Regional High School".
  17. When are the Men's Freestyle finals scheduled today? When I searched online I found this (Flo Wrestling Session II: Championship Finals 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM – (1 MAT) Men’s Freestyle (all weights) Women’s Freestyle (62 KG, 68 KG,76 KG) But I also found this (USA Wrestling Events Women’s Freestyle (62 KG, 68 KG,76 KG) Men’s Freestyle (57 KG, 65 KG, 74 KG, 86 KG, 97 KG,125 KG) Championship Finals 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM – (1 MAT) Is it 1pm local time and 2pm Eastern? Or was there a schedule change after one of these was posted?
  18. Amen. I've complained about the antiquated Track user interface for years, only to learn that Track was exempt from criticism on these boards.
