https://umterps.com/sports/2023/11/7/b1g-wrestling-ticket-information Or contact any of the Big10 schools. I just don’t know what the turn around is if they are paper tickets.

The travel cost associated with these super conferences sure isn’t helping the smaller sports any. It likely be easier for some schools to just have regional competitions for many sports most of their season and not have a traditional conference schedule.

I was assuming you were considering top youth age coaches since Askren isn’t in the college coaching development ranks yet. Putting him with college coaching legends like Carl and Gable is a completely different level, especially since he’s not with his AWA kids nearly as much once they his the college level.

Being HC often takes you away from some of the daily development tasks you have more time to focus on as an Assistant. Honestly the top programs talent ceiling really shines through the skills that their assistance are able to transfer to the wrestlers. As a new HC Joe is likely discovering a lot of elements about that positron which he only speculated about before. Bring at an Ivy League has some added struggles that some of these other programs don’t have. Not to mention the struggle of a new coach implementing his system and figuring out how to convince the recruits to take a shot early on him. He seems to have some solid assistance at the moment so I’m guessing he just need to figure out how to new utilize their talents and we will should some progress over the next few years.

While we are at it who you got at 1 and 3?

Juliana O’Campo finished 6th in Indiana, which has a single tournament meaning no classes. Two state finals wins to her credit this year, one by fall bur only after a scoring comeback and one by major. First girl in the history of the Indiana state tournament to place in boys state, although she’s qualified twice before. And this is from a state that produces Olympic bronze and two-time world silver medalist Sarah Hildebrandt who never qualified. And two time world silver medalist Kayla Miracle who only qualified once. This could be the one and only time we see this too as Indiana is considering officially sanctioning girls wrestling as a state sport by next year and possibly restricting each genders to only their state tournament.

Obviously Downey just made The List!
-
With the child labor restrictions it maybe awhile before production can wrap up. The longer they wait the more time he’s required to have off for breaks or school tutoring between takes.
-
IU came out firing after the break and finished off the comeback to win the meet in the final match.
-
Still not sure it’s as bad as his Michigan predecessor Grajalas. That dude had one,and on rare occasions two, short bursts per match and was on auto pilot mode the rest of the time during a match.

If I recall the Davison Brothers (Andrew and Lucas) have faced off a couple times in competiton.

Love to see one put together on a dedicated pinned thread or sub-board. Keep them separated with one post for each movie/document with a good description and a link to where you can find it to watch. Unless BobDole wants to go the extra step and create a dedicated webpage just to list everything out so additional posts don’t clog things up.

Maybe “ Junkyard Dogs”. That was a private school in LA that wasn’t really known for its wrestling but trying to get some respect. Their school wasn’t really into sports to much and the wrestling room was some dingy backroom space that wasn’t being used. I guess you could call their story “preppy” but more in a nerdy we can attend this special school sense than a cocky rich kid one.

I’ve not seen it yet. I think some documentaries get pushed out for a short run in theaters to make them eligible for some of the upcoming movie awards. Helen’s may have been put out in that manor to do that with plans for a later release on a streaming service.

Anthony Robles run through NCAA “Unstopable”. If I recall correctly MTV True Life did two different episode about wrestling. One followed some Washington high school wrestlers and the other focused on Cory Cooperman at Lehigh with the struggle of making weight.
-
Also there have been a couple Rulon Gardner documentaries put out “Rulon” which is more about his wrestling journey” and “Rulon Won’t Die” which also highlights some of his crazy post Olympics experiences and attempt at a comeback. Henry Cejudo also has a couple documentaries highlighting his life story, olympic run, and/or post Olympics MMA transformation. “Making of an Amateur Champion” “Henry Cejudo Experiment” and I believe there was one more that talked a lot about his life story. That maybe a Flo one but can’t recall
-
To not forget the ladies there have been a couple documentaries about Helen Maroulis including a recent one called “Helen Believe”. I think Flo may have had the other one. PBS has a spotlight documentary on teen sensation Tesgya Alo “Winning Girl” where she wrestled a couple other top girls like Kayla Miracle. Alo ended up going a different direction later in life but it was still a solid watch.

The recent documentary “The Dual” about the Iowa and Iowa State Rivalry wasn’t bad. https://www.pbs.org/video/the-dual-wovuhf/
-
I haven’t watched this yet but just came across “Stand Up” while trying to look up anything I may have forgot. Two senior rivals and friends try to get a PA state title Also found “For the Love of Catch” which again I haven’t seen yet. Sounds like it interviews several former wrestlers to get stories from their past. Looks like some post college career MMA also thrown in there too

Obviously Flo has put out a ton of solid documentaries over the past several years that are worth a watch.

I highly recommend “Boy with Broken Ears” even if you have to read the subtitles. It’s about the Iran youth wrestling program. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt3595394/
-
“Prince of Pennsylvania” and “Team Foxcatxher” if you want a documentary about the Schultz brothers and the Foxcatxher issues. “Wrestle Away” the Lee Kemp story. “The Season” ESPN show about Iowa University that most everyone knows.
-
“Wrestling with Iowa” about the next round of potential 4x Iowa HS State Champs https://m.imdb.com/title/tt3335458/
-
We really just need to compile a list of all wrestling related movies and documentaries and pin it someplace for future reference. While I’m on a roll of the lesser famous documenteies: “Shot in the Dark” about a blind wrestler trying to compete at state. “Zion” about a wrestler trying to compete that doesn’t have any legs.
-
“Pinned” which mostly focuses on the Palmer Brothers was solid. As well as “Wrestling with Life” about Dave Norwick sticking with coaching to continue the dream of his brother who died of cancer
