  1. Don't worry, I'm sure they hired all of the necessary supplemental staff--just in case! I bet USAW management is mighty proud of MFS but where would it be without boosters supporting RTCs? We already know--mediocre. In order for greco to succeed you need to give support to the right athletes and have them specialize as early as possible. I have little doubt that if the US enticed a handful of athletes like Joel Adams to commit to greco every year that results would improve. Just really hard to do without the $$$.
  2. The censorship of covid wrongthink facilitated some of the most regressive policies toward urban blacks since the war on drugs. It's almost as if for some people that "black lives matter" only when they can be weaponized against their political opponents...
  3. Monistat can be applied elsewhere...
  4. If foreign companies were kept to the same standard for environmental regulation (it's one world after all..) and anti-competitive practices were addressed, I don't think there would be much justification for off-shoring of so much manufacturing. However, most literature I see on the topic almost always skews towards justification of off-shoring. Tells me all I need to know about the value of a Nobel in Economics... And to have it primarily done in a country that is, euphemistically speaking, a competitive rival, is just adding insult to injury. The writing has been on the wall for quite some time and the pandemic has made it impossible to ignore.
  5. Here is an opinion piece by Democratic congressman Ro Khanna. He clearly lays out why the censorship of the NY Post article on Twitter was an issue every American should be concerned about, regardless of political affiliation: Twitter’s Duty to Protect Free Speech
  6. This is like a pack of hyenas on a downed wildebeest where the wildebeest appears to enjoy being eaten alive.
  7. Some people have the uncanny knack for missing the forest for the trees while simultaneously misidentifying the trees... They're listening to you, Willie: Apple just announced it is moving (some) of its manufacturing out of Chyna. Unfortunately, it will likely go to India and Vietnam but it's a start. Beyond the uncertainly surrounding the CCP's retarded zero-COVID policy, I would not be surprised in the least bit that the USG is exerting some pressure on Apple and other corporations to go elsewhere (10% for the "Big Guy", be damned). And surprise, surprise: Apple has started advertising on Twitter again because virtue-signaling only works when the moral stand you take doesn't affect your bottom line. Tim Apple understands that better than anyone.
  8. Haha. I know but the quote didn't work in this particular case otherwise.
  9. Also would have helped engagement if you named the thread "One World, Two Cups"...
  10. Jimmy, this is stale--like-fell-underneath-the-couch-and-forgotten-for-a-year stale.
  11. The US has the size, genetic diversity and resources to put together a decent team for any sport if there is the will. I have to assume that not many members of Russia's soccer team come from Dagestan and Ossetia, whose populations seem to be ideally built for wrestling. I always felt that with even limited infrastructure, Brazil could be a power in wrestling given the popularity and success of grappling and combat sports there.
  12. I assumed another year in the PSU room along with growing into the weight would have Dean separating himself from the pack. Apparently not. Looks like he is going to have to rely on the "Sanderson steal" again come NCAA's...
  13. Not a conservative--in the traditional sense, at least-- but Trump's disregard for the Constitution aligns with the sentiments of some Democratic Congress members as outlined in Twitter Files. It's just they're a little more circumspect (but props to Ro Khanna...). Honestly hope Trump strokes out before 2024. And by that I don't mean a public act of self-gratification. Although that might serve the same purpose...
  14. Looks like Timmy Hands isn't too happy about this. I have to imagine Ivanov wasn't getting the support he thought was required to make the team competitive. Probably an unpopular opinion but I think one of the reasons the US is sub-par in Greco overlaps with why we aren't good at Olympic lifting-- no state-sponsored "supplements" program. Greco is less dynamic than FS and strength is at an even greater premium. Pummeling, hand-fighting and par terre lifts all require immense strength. I sat near the Azeri GR team in Nur Sultan in 2019 and many looked like physical freaks for their weights. Our team does not. Greco is a fundamentally distinct sport from FS and folkstyle. It probably has more in common with Judo than folkstyle. For it to thrive, it needs high level clubs that recruit people with an aptitude for it (rather than just getting the 2nd-tier guys) and they should be specializing by the time they are in high school. There are some respectable clubs for Greco but not enough and most of these athletes are still competing in folkstyle/FS.

  16. Hopefully this means Schultz will actually wrestle matches with ranked opponents when given the opportunity--for the rest of the season, at least.
  17. I would really like to see what RBY can do. Curious how his style would translate to FS. I suspect he would do quite well at 60 kg. I also think that Brooks could medal with the right draw. Outside of Taylor and Yazdani (and no Naifonov), 86 kg is a weak weight. Ethan Ramos wrestled for a medal this year.
  18. You should read the article(s) I posted before revealing your ignorance. AirDrop is one of the more difficult forms of communication to control for the CCP. Geolocation of phones can occur regardless of AirDrop and already is being exploited to locate protesters--nothing to do with AirDrop. Other, unknown forms of communication? LMAO. Why don't they communicate with soup cans connected to string? Placing a banner on a highway demanding basic human freedoms from their government results in prison time, you think these people are not terrified of public displays of dissent? Authorities in China have had to resort to random stop-and-searches to see whether people have "forbidden apps" on their phones. The CCP obviously doesn't have a complete handle on everything yet. They are desperately trying to control access to information by its people. This is almost invariably what limiting AirDrop is intended to do. You obviously have no concept of what China is. "A different message"? Everything in China is all propaganda all the time. Like they need AirDrop to do this.
  19. If you are unable or unwilling to acknowledge that AirDrop was modified to enable censorship you exemplify my first post perfectly.
  20. For those interested, there's a pretty provocative thread unfolding on Twitter: Currently it is airing some of Twitter's dirty laundry regarding censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop news. Matt Taibbi is breaking it. Probably the perfect person to do it.
