Yeah, prior to covid, they didn't do anything between matches. So using the sterilaser thing between matches isn't the problem, so long as they are still mopping between sessions. If they are doing a good job of mopping with bleach, then the mats are not the issue. There is not enough time to mop the mats during the session.

Does he have an opportunity to make any more money training for freestyle full time than if he stayed in college? I understand how the threat of leaving could get him a little more NIL money, but he doesn't have a ton of leverage because he may make less money if he leaves. His name will ultimately be worth a lot more in the wrestling world if he has 4 or 5 titles.

Time will tell. Based on the evidence at hand, he still had the power of hand selecting republican candidates in 2022 and is the current leader in all polling. That may change when Desantis officially jumps in the race, but I suspect he will have to walk a very thin line in order to peel away Trump's supporters without turning them all on him at once. How does he convince them Trump is not the right guy anymore without condemning any of his actions or admitting everything Trump has said about the 2020 election is a lie? Republican candidates across the board will be fearful of crossing that line until/unless the public sentiment for Trump among republican voters has a dramatic shift. We've yet to see evidence of that tide changing despite the poor performance in 2022.

My comment was a legitimate response to mspart's question about why anyone would fear Trump. Tell me where my commentary is wrong. The republican voters have helped Trump create a cult of personality within the party that has given him power to create or destroy careers. Do you believe he is not feared within the party? Also, I have not done any name calling or hurled insults at any posters here. But I have no hesitation about bashing Jordan. He's earned it.

There's a big difference between primaries and general elections. Trump still holds great power in the republican party (still the leading candidate for the 2024 primary), even though his endorsements did not fair well overall in general elections, particularly in tight races. It's no secret that the republican establishment never wanted Trump, and even laughed at the idea of him as a candidate, until he won the 2016 primary. Then they thought they could control him and use him to their advantage (they did get the court they were after), but by then he had them all by the balls and hasn't let go. Some, like Jordan, enjoy having their balls in his tiny hands. Others have walked a right rope to ensure he doesn't squeeze too hard. The rest are out of politics now. It would take a coordinated effort for the republican establishment to oust Trump and take away that power, but the career politicians value their position over all else. Edit: should have said "Jordan enjoys having his empty scrotum in Trump's hands." We already established he has no balls.

Should have said reconstruction regarding the ligament. Not sure they can repair a complete ligament tear using the same ligament. Yes, meniscus can be repaired, but yes, it's rare. The meniscus has a limited blood supply so most tears won't heal even if repaired. That's why they usually just cut out any damage that is causing issues. The article mentioned Cardinale had a "scope" done, which indicates they just cut away the damaged tissue. A scope is a much, much easier recovery (you walk out of the hospital the same day), but if too much meniscus is removed, you will be dealing with knee problems down the line. I injured my knee in practice a couple of weeks before the district tournament my junior year of high school. Tried to wrestle on it during the last regular season tournament of the year but it locked up in the finals. Trainers and doctors knew it was torn because it was locking up (incredibly painful telltale sign of a meniscus tear) so they didn't bother with an MRI. I was told they wouldn't know whether they would do a meniscectomy (two small holes from the scope) or a meniscus repair (slice open your knee) until they were in there looking at the damage. So I wouldn't know whether I could wrestle the district tournament until I woke up from surgery. Ended up just being a "scope" job and I was able to wrestle at districts 10 days later (and won the tournament).
-
Not to take anything away from him, because that's all tough, but he must have had a meniscectomy (arthroscopic surgery to cut away torn cartilage). No way they let him wrestle two weeks after a meniscus repair (a major surgery similar to a ligament repair). Edit: actually reading the article, he did have a scope.

I know that's a hypothetical question, but it's politics over principles. Almost every R that refused to support him is out of the game, either because they lost their election or didn't run because they knew they would. Bow to him or die. He doesn't stand for any traditional republican values but they got Roe overturned, so it's been worth selling their souls. And Jordan is just brown nosing harder than everyone else to get a primo spot in the fourth reich.

Sounds about right. Dude's a neutered chihuahua. Likes to bark but has no balls.

I actually like criteria, but I also like the first OT period when guys are actually trying to score. I'd be fine with one 1 min OT period and if no one scores then it goes to criteria. It would be clear prior to OT who holds criteria and who needs to score. If criteria holder doesn't engage they will get called for stalling. Ride outs are always awful and need to be done away with.

He doesn't like any version of wrestling where you can touch your opponent's legs. He prefers when they play patty cake for 6 mins.

Haven't flipped through the rule book, but assume first choice could pick neutral if they want, but they wouldn't have the opportunity for an escape point, of course. So if they fail to hold their opponent down in the second 30 period, they would lose (barring they don't score after giving up the escape). The only reason to do it I can think of is if you really suck at bottom but are really good at top and are confident you wouldn't give up an escape after 8:30 of wrestling.

That was the old forum. We don't have to do that anymore. Anyway, I found this clip from the practice.

It also used to be a somewhat common treatment for a bite from a snake with hemotoxic venom (most of our North American vipers) when the got swelling got too intense. It has also fallen out of favor by the top snake bite experts, but is probably still used in places.

I'm sure it's buried in some long and winding thread. I think our resident Iowa fan, Vac, was asking about it and was sufficiently convinced it was a good no call. I agree with you, though, that is definitely not always strictly called at 4", especially if the offensive wrestler is able to hold their opponent on their back with a little more control than Murin had. I'm sure you can find some tilts where the defensive guy is bridging more than 4" and the ref is swiping.
-
I think this was covered elsewhere, but no NF was the right call. Shoulder blades have to be 4" from the mat. Yianni's were nowhere near that.

Bottom man can't score nearfall.

He also may have redshirted his first year if it wasn't a free year. All the 4xers (so far) had very different different routes to doing so. Pat Smith took a redshirt after his 3rd title due to sanctions against the team. Cael did the standard RS first year and then rattled off four undefeated seasons. Dake went four straight with no RS. Stieber wrestled as a true freshman but got injured and took a medical RS before winning four straight. If O'Toole were to win four (we're still a long way from that) with a bonus 3rd place as a true freshman, it wouldn't be any less impressive than Stieber's four, in my opinion. And he's won his first two titles in some incredibly deep weights, which won't get much easier over the next two seasons.

Of course he can. But 165 will still be stacked, so no easy feat. I also saw someone mention he could move up to 174, which would be interesting. Still doesn't appear to be a big 165, but he could put an end to Star's chase for 4, if he can get through Star's stalling, I mean defense.

Keegan!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!! -
That's because they all have inflated seeds due to their inferior conferences. It's very hard for the brain to wrap around it.

Here's another video of the Lee/Ramos match, but this time includes Mama Lee crushing her glasses.
-
Not sure what that is but don't think it's really the history Channel. But they've been posting a lot of matches for some reason. Came up in my recommendations, and I'm not mad about it.

Nice to see Big Elam finally break through the blood round barrier. Mizzou gets 5 AAs. Just slightly above the Wkn prediction. Would have been nice if Hart could have held on.
